Dom!? Is this the same Dom that was looking for Cones? Well, anyways, look over at www.McMaster-Carr.com/ and you'll want either Pan Head Phillips or Truss Head ,stainless steel Machine Screws in Astm #10-32 (that's size and thread) by whatever length you want, probably between 1-1/4" up to 2".In case the web page dosen't help, you can E-mail them at nj.sales@mcmaster.com So that you know,a #10 machine screw is very close to your 5mm screw, and comes in two thread pitches,#10-24, and #10-32.

I have a little problem I would like to get several sets of silver mounting screws for my vintage boards, but I live in France, and here I could only get "METRIC" screws. If somebody have an idea, plese help me to keep my vintage boards in a real vintage look.

The fact that this guy also has a vintage Krypto dealer sticker up on eBay also lends further creedance to the "Krypto sticker on some other deck" theory. http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1028217882
(I also had to smile a bit when he mentioned his "good eBay rating"...a whopping 12.)

There was a great article in a past issue of longboarder magazine on Ellen O'neal. She's getting back into it. Unfortunately, it's not one of the issues available on line, and mine's disappeared, but with your journalistic skills, maybe you can get some info. It was a great article.

Hi All,
Just a few words about the kickturn.com sale. I've been pretty flexible in my collecting over the years, buying just about everything I could remember from my childhood. As a result of this, I have accumulated many extras over the years, even after I save one of everything for my core collection. Anyway, I've decided to focus on a few lines that have special significance to me and offer the rest to other collectors/skaters. From the emails I've received, some prices may seem low, some may seem high. To me, they are about right:) I'm always open to offers and trades, especially for NOS Fibreflex, Z-Flex, and Zorlac decks.
Thanks - Alvin
ps - I've been trying to get the word out about my mail server. Apparently, it's acting up. Temporarily, please email kickturn@ev1.net for questions and orders.

I just picked up a pair of old mid track hangers. (E-bay, so I haven't seen them yet) The seller told me they are the small pivots. I assume I'll have to find some small pivot baseplates? Is there any way to use aggro/B-2 baseplates with a different pivot cup? Any thoughts or lead would be appreciated. Hopefully these will live under my Oak Taper Tail repro with some cool old OJ knock-offs.

Cool site, barb. Great story on the "why skateboarding" section. Come on out to LaCosta 11/23 for the race-and write a story about it! Slalom could use the coverage. Glad you dropped into NCDSA-stick around!
What about a story about my wife: "How skateboarding made me a single mom: Why couldn't he just golf like the rest of 'em?" heh heh heh
SSofS: I didn't know about Alvin until he posted on "buy-sell-trade" yesterday-but he has tons of stuff for sale, I'm eyeing the OJs).
Good luck finding a deck!

Indy 101 are the best trucks for slalom. Wide trucks turn too slowly. ACS trucks are also good, 650 with the bases cut down (Attila's idea) or the ACS 651, like Woodman rides. JO\FCR\Comet.

OK, you are all verrry cool and helpful--thx for the input. I would LOVE that Peralta warptail (partly because I had a major crush on SP back then--he was the only "nice" Dogtown-er--not that I ever said a word to him, of course...) Oh, sorry. I'm supposed to be talking about skateboarding. Yes. Well. The warptail would probably be perfect. I love my Sector 9 Suess, but at 38" it's about six inches too long for comfortable bowl rides for me. In other news: I got my ebay-ed Fibreflex today. Kinda disappointed. Guess I forgot that my weight in the "old days" was around 85 pounds. The board flexes a whole lot more now for some reason--go figure. But even though it's short and squirrily, it's cool for tail wheelies and such. And yes, I've checked out kickturn's site and when I win the Lottery I will get serious about buying one of his $500 boards. Sheesh! I just want to ride the thing, not stick it on my mantle. By the way, if there ARE any other moms on this board, please contact me through my site (skateboardmom.com) as I'm write for the LA Times and I plan to put together a story in the next year or so on Moms Who Skate. (Sorry all you dads.)

BoBo offerred some insights into the trackers. These are probably highly collectible, but the fact that the axles are fully threaded would mean lots of slop or "wiggle" utilizing a precision bearing-not the best scenario for competitive slalom these days. There was a big argument regarding the 2nd generation Seismic Trucks NOT having the 8mm axle, which fit current bearings VERY snuggly for optimal performance.
On 11/6/2001 BoBo wrote in from 151.196.xxx.xxx:
I'm no expert on early Trackers, but I'm getting there it seems these days C-Money.
Tracker started with the "Tracker" truck, or what we now call a Fulltrack. These did come with fully threaded axles for loose ball wheels sets that were the standard at the time. Then they came out with the Half Track if I remember right. This also came with fully threaded axles. The Mid Track was released last [If memory serves]. I don't recall when the precision bearing axles came out, but the Fulltracks got them first. Followed by the Half and Mid series trucks. I've seen Fulls and Halfs with fully threaded axles, but I don't recall ever seeing Mids with them [Maybe someone has]. Small pivots were standard till aggressive vert tricks got hard on equiptment. Then they went to the "Gnarly", or larger pivot hangers. I've never known anyone to break a Tracker pivot off, but it might have been a corporate move to make sure they never did. Small pivot Fulltracks are [IMHO] tha smoothest turning trucks you can get. I use them exclusively now, and hunt them down on eBay.
Thet trucks on my Comet have the 'New' axles that are for precision bearings, and are not fully threaded. I don't buy them because of the slop, and I am not a collector per se. I use my trucks to race, but I like them looking good also, so I scrub em down with SOS to get the oxidation off em. I like to use Tracker bottom bushings if I can, and often use the ones I get when I purchace them. The bottom bushings don't get the beatings the tops seem to get. What's nice is that when I shine em, they look new again. As you can see in the pic they look brand new. This pic shows a close up and you can see how they look.

Sorry for just being me. . .And-Simon has some great stuff, I've been toying with the idea of buying those Gullwing Phoenix, but would rather have split axles, but can't imagine what that would cost. . .
