That board
On 4/25/2002 Duane wrote in from (68.15.nnn.nnn)

I send probably a couple of corrections a week to eBay sellers with the wrong info on their gear. 99% of the time its an honest mistake (midtrack versus haftrack, etc). This one looks suspicious to me. Almost all sellers have posted the corrections. Did anyone get a look at the cut-down Dogtown a few weeks ago ? Almost as bad as the K-beam which was busted off behind the rear trucks, rounded off and re-mounted 6" short. That place cracks me up.

eBay G&S
On 4/24/2002 Chuck wrote in from (204.30.nnn.nnn)

Hmmm...this is blatantly misleading. While emailing the bidders might be auction interference, it is also the right thing to do. So, maybe I'll go ahead and do that, since I really don't care about getting thrown off (ooooh! you can do anything, but please don't throw me in that briar patch!). Having been burned once on eBay I hate to see it happen to anyone else. Seller gets an email with the opportunity to fix it...if he doesn't in a few days it's WAR!

BoBo,
The listing also has NOS which stands for New Old Stock with old being the operative word here. If it`s the New reissure, I rest my case.

As they say...buyer beware (there`s a latin phrase for that)

Oh, be careful on contacting the bidders. Even though it may be the right thing to do, it`s called "auction interferance" and a no no with eBay which may result in you being banned from their site

eBay G&S
On 4/24/2002 BoBo wrote in from (151.196.nnn.nnn)

Yes, that is a reissue Scabs. The size and placement of the decal tells the tale. Someone should tell the current high bidder that he can get one for 70.00.

It may not be unscrupulous if the seller has no clue. But one never knows.

Fibreflex (old or new?)
On 4/24/2002 Scabs wrote in from (66.21.nnn.nnn)

I found this on eBay and not sure what it is. I emailed the seller so I`ll let you know. My take is that it looks like the new reissue model. Decal has white where Gordon and Smith is. The deck is black on black. But I haven`t seen one of the new reissues up close. I have an 80`s reissue by ACME that is also black on black but the nose on my board is rounder and the tail is squarer. The decal on my board also has the white gordon and smith so that only makes it more confusing. The seller is selling it as a "70s classic" with no mention of reissue or any later date. Don`t recall seeing any of the 70s with black on black.

Input?

Really old RSI's
On 4/24/2002 Geezer X wrote in from (12.145.nnn.nnn)

I just scored a pile of NOS Roller Sports Incorporated roller skate sized loose ball honey urethane wheels. These look just like MK IV's, but predate them. If you were setting up a Bahne or G&S 6 1/2x 24 or 27 with Chicago trucks, these sweet little rollers would be the business...
I'll entertain offers.

Older Park Wheels for a SOLID OAK Deck
On 4/24/2002 Steve in AZ wrote in from (192.175.nnn.nnn)

Let's not forget that most of the harder durometer wheels came about with the plys!

For instance, if you're running a Sims Pure Juice Solid Oak board, or one of the early taperkicks, you'd opt for the Sims Pure Juice Comps (Hereto refered to as "SPJC's"), with a more narrow truck (Half or MidTracks, Gullwing pro or Phoenix, or Bennett Pros).

If you've got one of the old laminates (Sims, Tunnel, etc) WITHOUT the wheelwells, then you'll go to the later wheels...Snakes, PJC-II's, 2nd series Kryptos in Green or Blue, with a slightly wider truck.

Once you add the wells and the width goes over 8", you're only one step away from being "pig".

Gawd, I lived my life between my Loose Bearing Makaha LX500 (now are RARE find), and my Tunnel Waldo Cloud (I still got that one).

LMK if you're interested in some used 'thane...got plenty.

old park wheels
On 4/23/2002 Glen wrote in from (64.171.nnn.nnn)

of the old wheels, the ones I liked best at that time were the green Sims Snakes. I had the Oj's slalom, Road Rider 4's, Park Rider Logan 5's, Yo-Yo 50-50's, Powerflex 5's, and Sims Snakes in that order back then. The Snakes were definitely the best.

Fast 70's stuff
On 4/23/2002 Duane wrote in from (68.15.nnn.nnn)

Wow, PSR pretty much covered it. I like the first C series green kryptonics, still hard (90A) but fast with the core. C-65 were perfect size. The HPG Wings (I had Belair Wings, same thing) were fast, probably low 90's durometer. Light green Pacers were 95A and good for parks. The first Powell Mini-Cubics were 95A and sweet, don't buy the 85A later ones (Powell street cubics, II's, III's IV's etc etc are all 85A and all stink, bad). Some of the early Alva wheels were hard but way too expensive now. I would be willing to bet that the Kryptonics are the fastest of these on concrete, for wood go for the harder stuff.

Older fast park wheels
On 4/23/2002 PSR wrote in from (216.114.nnn.nnn)

Dave,I'm going to toss some names out there, you'll have to do the trade/E-bay thing to get any. Powerflex(5,7,9),ParkRider 5's(the solid colored,Magenta ones,LOL),Yandall BowlRolls,Tunnel Rocks,Panthers,YoYo's(especially the orange or white ones),Green pre-C series Kryptonics,Bennett Crock-Rocks(yellow),Bones(the first,bone-white ones),Sims Snakes/Comp II(white ones, greens were too soft, but fun),Belair Lipbombs /Bolts /Blazers,HPG Wings,Excellerators,Black(or Pink,I think) U.F.O.s, and G+S Wonkers(yellow). Where there's a color difference noted, the harder formula is mentioned, with the exceptions of White YoYo's and the Bones(off white Was the Only color for Bones when they came out). Best performing of these,IMHO,were the Green Kryptonics,The Wonkers, and the late-issue ParkRider 5 Logans. Good luck hunting any down.

Park wheels 70s

I want to set up a 70s oak deck for park riding.
What 70s wheels would be hard and fast enough for
smooth cement?

Thanks Dave

Sims
On 4/22/2002 skot wrote in from (209.178.nnn.nnn)

I need a vintage sims or assimilar shaped deck to put my old
sims snowboard back to gether. I don't have to have a blunt nose, and it can be generic, but I' d prefer a flat deck and it must be at least 10.5" wide. I took off the Brad Bowman Channel deck off it and that puppy is just too nice to be hidden underneath - it's goin' up on the wall.

Shoot, that company is 10 minutes away from my house. And I`ve been meaning to replace these oversized Pro-Tech pads for a while. Maybe they have a more slalom friendly gear? I`ll check them out tomorrow....being I can`t skate for a while.
