Congrats going out to Ethan for his win at the KFC race, another win for the Pocket Pistols Racing Team! Now that you know the taste of Victory maybe you could actually practice some slalom. Saturday night I had a chance to meet up with the Mile High Rollers and do some parking garage ridin. I think the last time I did that was at OSU on my Logan Earth Ski. It was really fun going round and round, taking the elevator back up. I had one spill so I'm nursing some sore ribs today but not bad for a 46 year old geezer. Not the pain you're in, but it will get better. Chin Up Champ.-Geo

Sorry to hear about the continued pain, Kenny. Being injured sucks, especially when you're used to being active and bouncing back easily. Don't know what else to say, except I've been there. I wish you nothing but the best.

I walked on the foot on Monday per doc's orders. I was like "OK we are going from non-weight bearing to full go right off the bat?". He said, "you'll be in a tennis shoe by next week".
I thought he was joking, but I did it. I paid the price yesterday, and its so swollen and painful right now Wednesday morning. I stayed off it yesterday, as there was no way I could put weight on it. It hurts all over. Not under the heel like you would think, but all over the ankle and on the foot itself.
I have a therapy appointment this morning and am going to have her guide me. I am worried about it not being healed enough for weight bearing. Its been 99 days today since the crash.
I wish I had more good news and could stoke up the gong show, but this is it for now.

I meant me. You know, a slalom podium racer turned gimp by a violent crash. Gilmour we love you. I started walking this morning. Day 97. Its not much but I can walk with the boot. The leg is so weak its not funny. Gotta run. Ryder has thrown up a few times this morning and its off to the doc.

"He's kind of a Gilmour - won't work, sends him kid to daycare and plays video games while his wife, a school teacher works her ass of. "
Hey! That's totally not cool Kenny. I would never choose to send kids to daycare and I don't play video games. And "Wife" don't have one of those either. Me date a school teacher.....well I suppose that could happen- does it count that one of the women I dated in 2000 at Wellesley now teaches- well she is a college Prof, and I'd be more likely to date the lower school teachers which are cuter.
But doing the wage slave thing- answering to a grinding clown, well that's not me now and won't ever be me. Working for myself seems to be the only thing that keeps me interested.
And I have gone over 75mph... so the way I see it- this guy is nothing like me- and you and I would never get into a fight either...
But nice to hear you landed a good one on the bulls#@!ter imposter .... there is only room in this country for one Gilmour.
Heal up Kenny- I also am impossibly grouchy to be around when I am hurt. The neighbors now have some good gossip to fill their lives... just don't let the newspapers get wind of it.

Cat,
Jessie had a blast in Aspen and had a blast. The foot is getting better slowly - very slowly. I tried walking in 5 feet of water, with no success. It really hurts. Not the bottom of my heel, but the side of my heel, behind the ankle bones. I am starting therapy, on both my foot and head. Its been tough and I have been quite the bitch/pussy.
I am a LONG way from walking. Today is the 3 month mark, and I feel about 1/4 of the way to my "new normal", which doesn't seem too promising. I have been dizzy and spent all day yesterday in the hospital doing tests since my brother died of a virus in the brain. I just have a little vertigo and it shouldn't last too long, but I wanted to make sure it wasn't something worse. Anyhow, the doc asked what happened to me and I told him. He said "you know thats never going to be normal for the rest of your life". I told him Keith already told me that "it would never not hurt for the rest of my life".
So there you have it. I am sure my "new normal" will be just fine. I just need to make it to next spring to try out the foot at "ditchapolooza" in Albuquerque.
Geo, the board looks killer. That board I am riding in the pic is the 7" Alva. thanks for posting.

Hey Kenny, I just finished putting together the deck I won at the Buckeye 3.0 and took it out for a spin at the Boulder Skatepark.
Feels different riding a flat deck with wide wheels. Got some strange looks!
I knew you would appreciate the Old School ride, may even look sorta familiar.
I still have my old Power Pivot, maybe I should throw that on there. L8

Nice Kenny...that's a great metaphor -He's kind of a Gilmour. Unbelievable. John has drinks named after him which he devised called "The Gilmour". Slalom cone sections called the "Gilmorian Curves". Last year when I went to the nationals I "Gilmoured" some chick for a place to stay. Haha. A few years back we had a spped race held by a multiple world time champion speed racer who was japanese---I hit 69.4 miles per hour on a 210cm super g deck--almost took out my 228cm monster, just missing the 1st place by 2mph. The course was iced and no turning was allowed. Freezing our balls off in speed suits. Heart was beating hard at the start and then were off. No turning back now. Stiif boot/binding set ups were tuff to handle as each little bump in the surface made you want to break your tuck to regain a better balance but you couldnt break the tuck...holding on..ready to have a heart attack and then its over. 50mph was a breeze...going over that and it felt like we were hovering with very little feel from the board. What a rush

Thanks Eddie. I have been having a pretty tough time the past two weeks. Its day 78 and I have been pretty depressed, stressed, short tempered, and just down and out. I punched some guy in the face when I called him out on some bulls#@!. I told him he has never gone 75 mph on snow, and he said maybe my foot wasn't hurt and that I was faking it.
It was a neighbor's brother-in-law. He's kind of a Gilmour - won't work, sends him kid to daycare and plays video games while his wife, a school teacher works her ass of. The neighbors are so mad. The kids were all there, including Ryder and their kids. The guy worked me pretty good after I cold cocked him. I took my medicine and we made up the second it was over. The neighbors did not recover so well. Oh well. Its been tough.
