I am healing up pretty good. I have almost 4 weeks of walking and it gets better every week or so. I don't notice much day to day progress, but the weeks are adding up. I rode the Exkate for around 1/2 hour and the heel hurts bad on left, or "heel" turns. Plus I am favoring my rear foot more than normal and my legs were shaking bad. But I did do a 40 mile bike ride that morning out to Amish County. Physical therapy 4 hours a week. Not doing much therapy at home besides the bike and playing with Ryder. Life is much better now. That was a harsh break. We are officially booked for Hawaii December 14-21. It was a stated and written down goal to do every year for 10 year, and I missed enough goals this year to blow it now. One goal was to win Indian School. 0.14 seconds too slow. Another goal was not to get hurt. I did not make my income goal. I was a good Dad. I did ride the 100 miles to the Ohio River. I did save enough for taxes. I have been "out there" more in public for business reasons. AND NOW WE ARE GOING TO THE NORTH SHORE !!!! This year we are staying at Turtle Bay for a family style resort vacation. We never stay in nice places like that, but have tons of fun things for Ryder, surf lesson if the foot can handle it, a pool, workout facility, etc. I am rambling. It feels good to be back. Next stop Indian School outlaw if I get invited.     Rate post 284565 ! It was a good slalom year for sure. Everyone is getting so much better. It was great to get to know team Fullbag this year. They are a great addition to the slalom family. Paully, Where did you come by the Sims days article. Was it from "Skatin' News"? That was a newspaper type publication that came out after Skateboarder mag died. I am walking and in normal shoes now. It hurts pretty bad, but is worth it. I can do normal things now like carry stuff when I walk, clean up after myself, etc. I am stoked with my progress but have months before I am semi-normal. I did ride the Exkate a couple days ago. No problem, but heel turns are not the same. I am still so weak its not funny. Ryder is doing great and loving school, which he goes 5 days a week from 12:30 - 3:30. Jessie picks up three days and Robin two. Its working out fine. We will not be at the Dixie Cup this year, as we are heading out to San Francisco for that weekend for a short family trip and to see friends that are moving to Melbourne, Australia. On 10/3/2007 nature wrote in from United States  (69.223.nnn.nnn) Back from the worlds and it was killer. All the racers were killing it. I started walking on Sunday night when we got home !!! My goal was 120 days and started cranking it out at 117 days. The heel feels O.K. Not bad really. The ankle is more spanked but I AM WALKING !! Ryder is stoked to have dad up on both feet. That was hard and I tried not to be so down, but it was bigger than me. Life will be returning to the "New Normal", whatever it will be.     Rate post 282943 !
