Stranges CS time
On 2/21/2004 Michael wrote in from (195.92.nnn.nnn)

Yep Strange, your CS time is well....strange. I'd like to see proof that you can beat Levine on a home made deck and 45mm wheels.

The course:
1. Flat area.
2. Start line with 3-foot Starting Box drawn so the box shares its front side
with the Start Line and evenly straddles the Cone Line.
3. 15-feet past Start Line is first of 25 cones spaced 6-feet on center.
4. 15-feet after last cone is Finish Line (174 feet total start-to-finish).
How to run it:
1. One foot on board, push foot on ground within 3-foot Starting Box.
2. Board must cross Start line between the front corners of the Starting Box.
3. Time starts when board crosses the Start Line.
4. Time stops when board reaches Finish line.
5. Any cone displaced DQ's.
If your course is not flat, please run it in both directions and post the average of your best time in each direction. Post as many entries as you like, only your fastest time will display.

The Wolftown Sessions
On 2/21/2004 Longy wrote in from (82.37.nnn.nnn)

It was a laff, with a bitter cold east wind me, Jethro and Dave O'connor blasted 6 foot centers then 4 foot maybe 25 cones. It was great to see David in action at speed and gave me the impetus to push things a bit and at times i found out what the lip was for on avalons....must go faster, must go faster. The Wolftown sessions i think will be a regular Saturday night thing, its a nice surface with a very gentle slope, you have to work at it. Cyber slalom might enter the equation at some point with maybe some timing gear too.

Excellent news Michael thanks, the reason i thought i'd kick it off is that its a skill most young skaters dont have and its one of the staple skills in skating in my opinion...plus i'm sick of the "duh old school" cracks, i'm going to show them that 5 foot centers at speed is far more hardcore than titting around a waxed curb. I'll try and get a regular thing going its nice to slalom with other folk and it gets bloody lonely 3 hours on a car park on your todd ;-)

Mk Ditch

Strange,
Steve's right about the ditch, and theres no way you'd want to be there now. You need a couple of dry weeks before it would be skateable .I'm about ten mins away from it, when the weathers better drop me a line and I'd be happy to be your guide through the concrete jungle that is Milton Keynes.
By the way, did you ever get your Skaterbuilt?

I hope you have a good night.

Flights to Greuningen
On 2/19/2004 SamG wrote in from (193.203.nnn.nnn)

I've just finished communicating with a quasi English-speaking sales-assistant as regards the Gatwick to Zurich flights. It seems that the route is not to be continued after March, which is why the website is playing coy.

The next best available flights are with BA through www.opodo.co.uk and are available Friday evening (Dep 19:45 Arr 22:25) or Saturday morning (Dep 08:35 Arr 11:25), with Sunday evening return (Dep 19:15 Arr 20:00 or Dep 20:15 Arr 21:05). The typical starting cost is around £88.70.

Oh the luxury of languishing in a Luton location.

There will be a slalom course set up on Wolverhampton Science park car park for tomorrow evening for some general fun and some semi serious racing if you fancy a go, i'll have a few set ups and there will be a few there, mostly dudes who have never run cones before. Give me a mail if interested.

yeah mate, good luck leon...steve, are you the guy whose board-loss story is on MAS? I've never been, but apparently, every time people go, someone either maims themself by rolling in and flying out onto the grass or they lose their board...anyway, do you know the exact loc.?

Information - too early
On 2/19/2004 UKSSA wrote in from (195.195.nnn.nnn)

Leon is opening a resturant in Dorchester and I would like to propose this as a end of year venue for drinking, eating and prize giving. Hopefully Leon will make a little money and we have space to expand ourselves (you know what I mean).
I will see if the Saturday evening after Longleat will be a good time, or two weeks after (after Antibes).

I will keep you informed if you think it a good idea.
Good Luck Leon

Chris

Had a great night last night. So glad I went up there. It was great to see everyone and catch up with you all. Thanks, Ed for the DVD; I watched it last night in a bit of a state after my train journey home!! A couple more drinks followed and at 4am I made it to bed!!! Thanks, Chris for the plaque and T-shirt; I was very impressed with both and I look forward to donning my T-shirt. Thanks everyone else for the company and the good crack! See you soon! Leon.
