I wouldn't mind splitting pairs of Vans hightops (you know the ones, the old style) in size 10 or even 10.5. I'm a goofy-foot who brakes with his left so...I need extra lefts. I might go for low top vans with that same "off the wall" waffle sole, too. I'm in the San Francisco area (Pacifica).

Have Size 10 Rights, Need Lefts
On 9/8/2004 Chris Chaput wrote in from United States  (66.116.nnn.nnn)

I'm in Huntington Beach and take size 10 shoes, sometimes 9 1/2s. I burn up my left shoes constantly. Although I love flat-waffle-bottomed Vans (especially high-tops), I also buy a bunch of "Payless" or "WalMart" style shoes to be practical. Let me know if this works out with you.

Great deal , Hardwick and I did it all the time.Would love to find a new shoe buddy.I brake hard with my right foot, I ride for Axis shoe company and have all most new left foot shoes.Dont care what brand makes them. Two good shoes are better than one good and one shot to hell.I remember one ride, i had adidas on my right foot and dc on my left and gary had Adidas on left and dc on his right, worked great!Shoe buddies are better then pin pales.

Shoe Goo
On 9/8/2004 george g. wrote in from United States  (159.87.nnn.nnn)

Hey, I am a size 13 and drag right. Anyway-when I get a brand new pair of shoes, I wear em one time for a practice and a little footbraking. The I go buy a $ 4.00 tube of shoe goo and completely cover the sole. I put a little extra especially where I drag. It does seem to help. Even if it is a little lumpy the first drag will smooth everything out. After every race I put a little more on. just in the areas of wear. Just a little tip, I been doing for the last couple seasons and it does seem to help. It does drag a little different then the regular sole, but then so do different shoes from different companys due to rubber compound. I like Osiris and DC but I will wear anything without too poofy a tongue.

Henry! Dude, learn how to brake goofy so we can hook up. Your 36" ICK bit my ankle at G3, and I've never recovered.

If not, Henry and I are looking for TWO skaters with Size 12 dawgs that either ride & brake Goofy Standard or Regular Mongo.

Miko needs righties...
On 9/5/2004 Miko wrote in from United States  (66.81.nnn.nnn)

Need rights. I'm into the Vans Rowleys... just the cheapo types... not the xlt's or whatever they are. I'll start hanging on to all my lefties.

There's a problem with this forum though. Let's say you burn up rights. You want to *keep* your lefts, and get replacement rights. Well the person who sends you rights probably needs lefts. So once you've traded, you've got a nice replacement right but now NO left. Am I missing something here? If you happen to have saved all your un-holey shoes, maybe you've got a few good trades happening, but I dump both when I've burnt out my right. Hmmmm...

From the webmaster..

What's a Shoe Buddy?!

A fellow racer who shares with you the same shoe size and braking foot (right or left) and who is willing to swap shoes with you when one shoe has died prematurely from foot-dragging. Post your shoe size and which foot you drag in the Subject line of each post.

Thanks goes out to Richy Carrasco for conceiving this forum and selling it to me at Breck.
