The 'ole ncdsa has always been a great soapbox and now that I'm older and angrier I can really shake my fist, til the arthritis kicks in. SSSOOOO much racing going on! Australia, Canada, Cali, Colo speedboarding has taken off the way we thought it would or didn't want it to. More and more newbs noobs are showing up and announcing outlaws or finding new hills but unfortunately some of these folks don't have experience with these ventures. I happen to show up at what was to be a closed road event to show the local authorities what speedboarding looks like. This meeting turned into "no closed road" and me standing next to kids arguing why the should be allowed to skate a sandy, fast, s#@!ty road open to traffic with a pot hole crew repairing winter damage. I left my house to go to this non closed road event at 5:30 am I don't want to bash the people trying to pull this event off but...get your act together before you invite riders who travel the world to do this. Maybe time for somebody to steal Lott's "Street luge survival guide" and create the "Stand up survival guide" teaching noobs how to not get busted and when you do how to conduct yourself. Maybe the importance of helmets, how to hitchhike, where not to stand. that kinda stuff... ParkHillSkates is humming along and I hope to see my skate peeps in here to share stories of the road. Stop by the shop to get the scoop on what high altitude roads are ready. There is heaps of fresh pavement going down in the rockies. See you at the hill. Hope to get a private Pikes Peak run in this week!

Spring is here and it's good to get out to the garden but don't work the wet soil. The Spring Season is also a good time to replace your pillows. Downhill skateboarding is another great rite of Spring. The hill is sandy so stay in your lane and take the inside. Lil wet at the uphill run out. The pillar turn is sandy and wet. Go skate

I still don't know how to resize and add photos to this site but now I can update from my phone while at work! Technology rulz. So I was skating around with a grip of fliers and some tape hoodie down sticking em up where the cool artsy kids hang out. Fun stuff. Most bars would say "we don't hang fliers unless it's something goin on here" understandable. Once they here what the fundraiser is for and it involves skateboarding not one bar or unsuspecting light post has said "no". So check out Park Hill Skates on Facecrack and more on the Get A Grip Fundraiser to benefit Aurora Rise. If you like to make skate related or art that relates to other things, you should contact me. Just sayin

Been catching up with Thrasher's KOTR and a challenge is to focus another skaters board if they are wearing helmets and pads. Thrasher's checklist of things to do is break a kids board in half if they are wearing full pads. Skaters that most kids look up to in the mag travel around to different skateparks breaking other kids boards if they have a helmet on. HAHA! RIDE Channel has a current episode of Skateline that bashes a kid with vulgarity for wearing a helmet."Damn (Nword)if you weren't wearing that girly ass snowcone helmet that trick would have been so much cleaner". These are clips from this week. Kudos to Michael Brooke and the Helmet Awareness article in the current Concrete Wave. There's a great video of Tommy Carrol (blind kid) who says he wouldn't be able to skate without a helmet and pads. Just makes sense, he's blind. I know I'm old and things make me angry like your dog on your lap while your texting and driving, that's me. To neglect wearing a lid is your choice, cool. To promote the idea that people with helmets are to be ridiculed is terrible. I would be dead after hitting my head the way I did this summer. I have friends who are messed up forever for not wearing a helmet. I can't see people ever again who died from not wearing a helmet. I never thought Thrasher would promote helmets are for losers.

Tim DelTaco won, I got a very sketchy prison-style "Barrett Junction" tattoo, someone ran into a luger going down with a 50cc going up which resulted in a wrecked luge, wrecked bike and wrecked person, there was a keg, it was very cold to us Southern Californians, Reed Lowery was there. That's all that sticks out in my mind.

I drew a bull with a mis shaped horn that couldn't have been better tool for dissemblowlement. He was blind in one eye from a previous cowboy and that just seemed to heighten his sense of hatred for people. He was white and the blood from previous failed riders stained his unatural color. This monster bull was named "Devils Advocate" and he weighed close to 2000 pounds, this was not a good idea...Then I wake up and remember I'm trying to open a skateshop. The time my eyes are open I think about nothing else. When there closed I have insane dreams about being crushed by things. stress?? I'm way to busy to keep up with all that's going on in Speedboarding and still make time to give blood, help out at the shelter and paint over the local gangs graffiti. I skated for the first time in 6 months last night. Parking garages downtown, so yeah that was sooo much fun. Gotta take it slow still but fun. I showed up with some old Comet that I redrilled with some first gen Paris 159's, old trucks that also needed to be redrilled. Bearings kinda spin but squeaky. Sick set up! So while bro'in down at he top of the garage, one kid looks at my board and says it's a "pretty sketch set up". Now most of these guys are on 170's or bigger with big wheels and boards that have been over engineered. Not eerbody was on the latest big gun but the kid who commented on my setup was on a board that has lights built into it. Blue lights in the base wood of the deck. Now I can't tell ya if it looked cool or not because he was behind me every run. Good to be out making turns again. Time to go lay in bed and think about all things skateshop, a quick nightmare and back to think about all things skateshop. Rick come snowboarding! The white bull awaits!

The Vanom would have been the way but work, the new shop and Nick DBKid has some crazy lung spiders with fangs he's passing around. I hope Rick retires again next year and maybe I will have less on my plate. I haven't skated since my accident then surgery. Barrett would have rattled me open. Who won? What happpened? haven't heard any good stories yet?

So McKendry on Speed has become quite the opposite, should be McKendry on how long til the next update. The sport/love/passion of ours has grown so much in the last decade that I can't keep up with the names or how quickly my hidden spots have now turned into the blown out spot. I suggested we hand this forum over to Wester but he's do busy chasing trophies to update this thing. And if this mine well I'm going to keep ranting how you damn kids don't respect nuttin. Just like me when I was your age, or acted like I was your age.
Barrett is coming this weekend and damn it! I can't be there for another Rick Kludy retirement party, maybe next year. Is there any road left to race on? Happy Birthday Rick, Love your show!
I can't make it cause I'm trying...I am opening a skateshop. I have researched this location for years now. The hood or ghetto I'm starting the shop in is called Park Hill,(Denver) so Park Hill Skates. I would love to give you the details of my business plan. How I plan on spreading the vibe to kids who can't afford nuttin. I hear all kinds of advice and plan on picking and choosing what works for Park Hill. My freinds bros peeps have all gotten mwe this far and I wouldn't take this leap unless I knew you had my back. I'm excited to tell you the stories of the build and the reaction of the locals. When I told a gentleman named Tyrone about the shop he said "skateshop? this is a black neighborhood!" that might make it to a shop shirt someday (doubtful).
I have had an outpouring of support and thank you all for that and your continued support. I will update more with photos and stories but really came here to not only say thank you but more important, Happy Birthday Rick Kludy and thank you for showing me the way to Kludyville, and the directions on how to leave Kludyville.
Love your show!

So recovering from surgery will have ya on the couch and that turns to surfing turns into what the heck is going down at NCDSA? I will have to go backwards from today cause I'm on pain pillz! Need to open a skateshop fast! I got a location that will change the face of buying on the internet. A brick and mortar as solid as my business plan that will revitalize a community in need. Now somebody else is trying to open a shop close enough that I did some investigating. The parties involved know nothing about skating and intend to latch onto the upswing in skate related sales. I have been scrambling to get my taxes in order so I would like more appealing to anyone who might loan me money so after I hit send on this thing it's back to the phones. Tough to swallow but after the year I've had I look forward to seeing if I can make this happen. Let me know if any fellow skaters, entreprenuer, kinsmen or raconteurs would like to get in and out of a painles startup?
Not skating for months has made me realize the months of skating prior were not regarded as highly as they should have been? I look back on the runs that where just another run. The cammaradre (?)the laughs and beauty of everyday on the hill, even as a spectator should never be taken for granted. I see more and more people jumping right to big hillz with fast boards who might skip over some of the finer aspects of skating. As older skaters mix it up with the younger groms we have the responsibility to say "wear a helmet" "learn to stop" but never forget to tell them to smile.
Colorado will get back to it's roots soon with snow and winter arriving we will shelve the skates for a run and dust off the skis and snowboards. We have some of the best hills in the World and skaters who will travel to a hill any where in the World to take your trophies. (Maytum, Wester, Staub, Ryan, DuBois) Sorry for the mis spellings...on the pain meds.
Wester is on his way to Tuetonia and that will be nice.
Marijuana is on the ballot here and after the past couple years of the dealers running the show we need some regulation. The guys/girls in charge of growing, selling and monitoring the current business are all the people I use to buy pot from. Some of those people were kinda shady and still are. There needs to be regulations and research to legitimize the industry. The drug dealers I use to buy from now have business cards and call themselves managers. Don't ya think if these guys get the chance to sell a couple pounds on the side to an old biker buddy (in a state that is overwhelmed by unregulated grow operations) they're gonna sell it under the radar. Silly Colorado! Oh and this is skate related. Safety meetings mean a lil more round here.
Back to bed before the nurse catches me...damn gowns don't close all the way!

I have really been dropping the ball. This injury over the summer, pending surgery, the IRS seized my bank account, blah blah blah. Can't skate and that really sucked for BBDH but what a great time to have all my friends show up. What a show Dubois puts on. Still trying to recall what happened, cheap booze got me.
Snow is on the way so get those runs in.
