But Pappa Joe, it's so much fun responding to trolls. Billy Goat Gruff, an orginal DownHill Billy, kicked some serious troll butt!

Replying to trolls like JL just gives them the attention they crave.
Besides, he's right. We are too old. I'm hanging it up.

It's a blessing and a privilege to be involved in something so cool. Most of these guys have very full and productive lives -- and "use their brain" all the time. The difference is they don't keep it locked in such a tightly closed box as you do. Take the lid off and live a little.

JL, What's the deal bro? Like Mr. Richie, I am also 42 year old. I skate because I like it. I skate because I can. I skate because it has led me to life long friendships. I skate because it gives me an opportunity to share with other people, both adult and children, my faith. And I skate because it freaks out all of the people in my town that are like you. What's the rub? What does it matter to you what some other person does as long as it does not harm you or affect you in any way? Do you play golf? That's a game. Why in the world are you playing games following a stupid ball around a field? Do you watch NASCAR? Cars going around in circle over and over and over again seems kind of silly doesn't it? Do you follow any other sports (baseball, basketball, football, etc)? They are all games. Games are for children. Why would you waste your time sitting around watching other people play games? Doesn't all of this sound ridiculous? Just because skateboarding is not an activity that the majority of adults participate in or are involved in, by no means relegates it as children activity only! I am skater. I am proud of being a skater. I will be a skater until I am no longer physically able to be a skater or I die, which ever comes first.
And dying in your beds many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that for one chance, just one chance to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they'll never take... our SKATEBOARDS!!!!!! ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!

I can't understand why fools like you guys exist. Why don't you leave the skateboarding to the kids. It is a toy, isn't it? Last time I checked it was. So grow up and act your age, not your shoe size. Why would a grown man act this way, don't you have children ? Don't you have better things to do with your time? Is your life that boring, and uninteresting that this all you've got? Just wondering, can't really blame someone for using his brain, can you ? Hope you don't crash and hurt yourselves. Grow up and get a life, gentlemen.

hey dave glad the rest of your trip was a blast and you all made it home safe and sound Paris was so much fun...........I noticed a while back that you posted the shot of the hobie demo team on the slalom page. The guy that is the third from the left is the father of a teacher that I work with. he had mentioned to me a while back that he was on the team in the late 60's. when I saw your post, i sent it to him ans sure enough it was him. His name is John Maxwell. I was wondering if you can tell me where that shot came from, he would love to see more if you have them. What a small and wonderful world. see you in the ditch

Set your latte down and start packing for the desert. It's on in New Mexico.
The course is guaranteed to be rowdier than the that stuff under the Eifel Tower. And the views are almost as sweet.
Leave the NASCAR podium shirts at home. You won't be needing them next weekend.
