hills in san fran?
On 10/6/2005 nor cal newbie wrote in from United States  (130.212.nnn.nnn)

This may seem strange but i am looking for anyone who knows anything about the good hills in san francisco. i just started to go to school in the city and i'm looking for some long lazy hills to do some cruising on. i'm really pretty desperate considering that the only hill i've found is starting to get stale. I'm even considering topographical maps of the city

spots in Harrisonburg VA
On 10/2/2005 Ward wrote in from United States  (69.27.nnn.nnn)

a good run in harrisonburg va is located off of port republic road on devon lane. its really steep and has a nice curve in the middle, just for added difficulty. a friend wiped out on this one last year and hit a truck, so be careful if you try it

Looking for longboarders in Hawaii...
On 9/30/2005 FilipinoFreak wrote in from United States  (128.171.nnn.nnn)

Damn, I need people to ride with! There are a bunch of people who use longboards to get around, but I haven't found anyone who takes it seriously. Any longboarders in Hawaii (I live on Oahu) who do more than cruise?

NYC Longboarding
On 9/13/2005 Stoker wrote in from United States  (209.210.nnn.nnn)

I'm travelling to NYC this October and was hoping to longboard Central Park and the Hudson River Pathway. I'm basically into flat/semi-flat with an emphasis on building up the old legs for snowboarding season.

Has anyone out there longboarded Central Park? Seems to me from inline skate websites that it's not bad for them...wondering about longboarders.

Thanks.

Full Moon Bombing
On 8/16/2005 Scales wrote in from United States  (68.2.nnn.nnn)

Any Arizona riders out there? We ride the hills and trails of the McDowell Mountains just about each and every day. Every full moon a pretty big bunch of riders gather and we bomb under the full moon. It lights up the trails, looks like how Neo sees the Matrix. August 19th, its on again. email me for directions...

presidio
On 8/13/2005 david wrote in from United States  (67.101.nnn.nnn)

it totally depends on the cops...last time i was there with 2 friends going down kobbe st. 2 cop cars drove up the hill right past us, we just stood up went strait and acted mellow the cops never said anything.....then again a few years ago i got threatened with a 250 ticket for "public endangerment" for skating in the presidio

Yah, Presidio Cemetary
On 8/12/2005 EthanOB wrote in from United States  (192.12.nnn.nnn)

Yeah, its the Presidio Cemetary. Unskateable most of the winter due to runoff on all the hairpin turns. Its a bust during the day, but the gates close in the evening. There is a side entance and a footapth where you dont have to go past the caretaker house at the front gate. the If you just sk8 the back corner (plenty of downhill) and dont go near the residence down at the bottom no one knows your there, no one calls the cops.

Its a good run, but prolly best to do alone or with one other person... if you bring a crew the chances of a bust spike pretty high. In fact, any time I've skated the Presidio with more than one other person I've been asked to leave. Took the freebord guys there to ride Park Blvd a couple years ago and we got busted before the urethane ever hit the pavement.

Presidio?
My buddy says he and his friends found a 3 or 4 ft drainage ditch in the presidio that runs for about 700 something ft. Sounds like fun to me, I'm gonna try and hit that s hit soon.
Speaking of which does anyone know the status on ditch near Pac Bell park.
I was there the other day but it was full of water and some guys either homeless or on lunch break.

My summer after-work spot
On 8/12/2005 EthanOB wrote in from United States  (192.12.nnn.nnn)

No cars, no dogs, no baby strollers. Just lots of dead people. And trees that creak. And some bird that sounds like somone laughing. Oh and a scary hobo sleepin in the woods nearby. The place gives me the freakin creeps sometimes, but its a good run. It is definately haunted, tho. Sometimes I hear a voice in my head telling me to "be carefull, soldier" when I'm going really fast. I swear. I've never been a soldier. If figure its jsut one of the dead folks.

I'm really happy for you Steve... really :] Now do you mind listing some good lesser known spots in the Bay Area. I've alrady checked out most of the well known ones... looking for some closed to cars or nearly so, smooth wide pavement in the 20/25mph range - good for mellow soul carving.
