Proposed 2007 World's during school year

Marion, Hope you're having a great summer with those long daylight hours to be a kid again! I know I am. This may be premature, but I just wanted to throw out a request that if DHB gets to host the 2007 World's (which it sounds like DHB would do an awesome job!) that it not be scheduled during the tradtional school year. I would most likely not be able to attend (I teach), and many students in the US and Europe, may not be able to attend. I am pulling some major strings just to get 1 day off to go to the La Costa race this year. Maybe during early August a week before or after the Farm and before the Longmont race.***
I know that some people like to see a sequence of big-to-bigger races during the year, but there are no qualifications to go, and we aren't on TV...yet. For most people it won't matter if the Nationals or World's comes first. Most people will train and try just as hard either way.
***This E-mail is NOT intended to offend any race promoters*** Thank you, Art

Hey Evan, I just might take you up on your offer if needed. Hopefully I won't have to be the cheapskate I was last year, but then again I was able to annoy Mollica with my cheapskateness last year so that alone almost makes it worth repeating. I'll talk to the "Boss" ScottyBobSonic about coming to "The Cup" but I think he showed up to the Buckeye only because he was doing a trip already to Minnisota or Wisconsin to see family and I know he's not busting with $, we'll see though, he's a fun guy to hang out with(Severin's a fun kid too).
Marion- I'll try to remember to do the signup but if I'm a bonehead and forget, count me in anyway. Thanks-Paul

Oh and it was sooo much fun being at the HOOD. That GS hill was by far, the biggest, steepest hill I have ever ridden.
It was cool to meet Marty and I am and going to the Nationals in August and I noticed that Marion is on the list....can't wait til' we finally meet!

If you have an extra day or 2 to burn to go ride skateparks, There are some killer skateparks in the Portland area like West Linn(South greater Portland), Newberg(20? miles south and a little west of Portland), Aumsville(40? miles south and a little east of Portland) as well as the nasty and dirty but legendary Burnside skatepark under the Burnside bridge (Burnside street).
www.skateoregon.com has a lot of good info and usually some pictures and directions.

Hey, You will dig Hood River, the G/S is not as steep and fast as Winston-Salems SBDH but it's great pavement, curvy and long and we usually get a big tailwind by noon, it's a real butt, thigh, and lung burner with all those turns, especially if you work it as hard as Pirnack did last year. The Tight has been pretty tight but not the tightest courses I've raced on, you never know, Marion's course at the DHB Dixie Cup Saterday course was more challenging, but maybe Steven King will out-do himself this year- but he usually tries to set a course everyone can make it through. Again, the T/S location usually gets a good tail wind by noon. If you bring 2 boards one for tight and one for big Hybrid/General/small-Giant you will be fine. There's also a good skatepark in Hood River if you're spending an extra day. After the race on Sunday is the post race awards and food and beer at Full Sail Ale Brewery right in front of where the T/S event is and the food is great. It's my "Homecoming" race so I have to talk it up. See you there-Paul

Paul! Dude, stoked you are coming back! Looking forward to having you here in Skatesville!
Thanks for asking: The DVD is now complete and will be going to press next week. Look for it to be available in July.
This DVD is focused more as a documentary about the first Dixie Cup, the vibe, and the people, places, names and faces involved. It rocks!
Stay tuned for further updates.

We basically do have one on every corner....or at least at almost ever interstate exits. Matter of fact, there is one directly beside the Best Western where the Dixie Cup participants stayed last year and I heard it got pretty crazy there in the wee hours of the morning.
One of my friend's favorite sayings is "I like my Women like I like my Waffle House hash browns....scattered, smoothered and covered." To this day I am not really sure what he means by that so I keep him away from my family!

Dude, How classic that a night out in the south needs 2 Waffle House mentions to accurately describe it. I have been through the south and don't y'all pretty much have a Waffle House & a Cracker Barral on every corner? The funniest part is that the Waffle "House" looks like a trailer!
Sounds like yu guys had a blast. That's what it's all about.
