The Comfort Inn is just off I-5 on the 128th St exit. The Cactus Moon is a descent sports bar with good bar food and early breakfast. No more than 15 minutes from the Y.

I'm looking for a little guidance...Stryker, Dan, Cory?...
We were planning on spending Sat night in Downtown Seattle and driving to Mukilteo on Sunday morning. It doesn't look like we'll be able to leave PDX until 6 ish. That kinda kills the reasoning for downtown. Is there a hotel closer to the YMCA, maybe by the highway, that would be ideal to crash the night before the race? One with food and drink close-by, and my car won't get broken into.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated---Skip

If you go back a page, you'll find this:
Basically the start is on the pyramid, one push, and down the bank. No jumping on the board starts.
Over the roll-in, and backside (regular footer) in the clam shell. Then through the shallow, and winding off the bank into the deep, and full speed out of the deep and up the other roll-in to the finish line.
We should have tape switches installed for accurate timing.
Sign up in the Contest sections. Starts at 10 am.

Park Slalom on 6/17?

Just ran into a post on Coast Longboarding that said, there is going to be a Park Slalom in the Seattle area on 6/17. Does anybody know about it? Or are they trippin'?
Would anybody be into doing an Outlaw at the Auburn skate park? That's the park shown in Peters video. I know there's been some chatter about it, but are people really down with the idea? We'd have to do it early morning to reduce problems. If you want to do it, let me know.

I was thinking if the winds were high in the morning, I could lay down my qualifying run first thing at Mary and then head to west Linn for the race there.
How many practice runs do I need anyway?

Corvallis Slalom on Sunday??????

If you guys don't get together at WSU or want to ride something different and since I'm likely going to be stuck in Corvallis Sunday with things to do, I will practice slalom here in Corvallis on the "Big Hill" and do some T/S, hybrid and maybe some G/S. I'm really wanting to do T/S and hybrid on some REALLY techy courses on asphalt with a steep hill to (A)Get used to sliding, (B)Cone my wheels some to get more traction on them by Hood River (C) Make Hood River's T/S seem like a slacker's cakewalk.
The "Big Hill" is sorta hushed like a permission pool. The residents are OK with me because I wear everything safety-wise. I'm sorta sticking my neck out on this since they've been cool about it so far with just me and don't want a big crowd scene. So if a few people(maybe 8 at most) want to come this way let me know and I'll schedule my day accordingly. I'll be contactable by this forum until 5pm at work or call me at (541)754-7826 after 5 pm or leave a message.
Otherwise, do the WSU thing, If it looks like I might make it up there, I'll make some calls and find out the details. Thanks-Paul

No doubt the group here was amped to go to Salem, so to stave off withdrawals and atrophied pump muscles, about ten of us flatlanded a covert location Sunday. Jonesin' for more speed we added approx. 30 feet before the start line of regulation Cyber, and the times went a little somethin' like this:
Psycho Cyber
Derek...10.470 Tim.....10.432 Dave....10.359 DanK.....9.985 DanH.....8.464 James....8.458 John.....8.069 Corey....7.856 Brad.....7.532
Regulation Cyber. Wacky adjustment after you've gotten spoiled with the extra push starts. Corey was SMOKIN!!
Tim.....12.777 DanK....12.686 Dave....11.284 John....10.113 (slow due to injury) DanH.....9.923 James....9.616 Brad.....9.521 Corey....8.961 (PR!!) Michael..8.138 (very slow due to injury)

Salem/Corvallis Sunday Rain-out

Hey, just so everyone knows, Yes it rained all day in Corvallis and Salem so it was as good decision.
SUNDAY MAY 14TH- I'd still like to get together and slalom in Salem or wherever else. I got a lot done yesterday so if enough people REALLY want to have "real" race and do the "Big-n-Fast" this upcoming Sunday then I'm into it and I'll make the neccesary changes on the Contest Calender. Otherwise, I'd be completely(more) into a non-race slalom session in Salem, WSU, Ridgefield or wherever.
I'll be gone until Wednesday so you guys can talk amongst yourselves and post your thoughts here or email me with the email name-click thingy above.
Adios-Paul

Pauli, was a tough call but looks smart. Can't wait to get on that hill again in June!

.......If next Sunday May 14th has good weather and people want to just get together and put one or 2 different lanes up in Salem(or maybe WSU or Ridgefield), I might be into that -IF- I get enough done between now and then, if someone wants to put a timer on one lane or both lanes that would be fine. Honestly I'd rather just ride and have fun instead of race next Sunday since we'll have a "real" race just a week after that. Too much "real" racing sorta burns me out. I guess I'm just one of those slacker "soul slalomers" or something like that. Adios-Paul

Hey, I noticed that supposedly there will be a Seattle race in August, and another Vancouver/Ridgefield race in Sept so I re-scheduled the "Big-n-Fast" for October 1st or 15th.
If either August-Seattle or September-Vancouver/Ridgefield does'nt happen(or if it's already known that either won't happen, let me know), Then I'll schedule the "Big-n-Fast" in August or September.
Thanks-Paul
