Right on Rich. Cool to see you guys picking up the torch for the GGP slalom/freestyle stuff. Don't forget to let Lizzie at Purple Skunk know about it. They have gear in the store to suit those disciplines and are down for the cause. Still trying to find some free time to schedule another trip for an encore SK8KINGS/Purple Skunk Jam. Slalom season is making it hard.
PS -- You should post something here too: Nor Cal Connection with Gary
PSS -- If any of you are going to San Diego for the ASR Show next month -- we're having a Jam on Sunday. Details at SK8KINGS.COM.

Conservatory Drive in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco -- they close some roads on Sundays for the skaters and bicyclers to use them. Slalom and downhill sessions starting at 1:30 pm on Sundays August 20 and September 3 (Labor Day Weekend- so you will have Monday to rest your sore muscles). I'm bringing 90 slalom cones and extra beginner and intermediate slalom completes for those who want to try slalom. click here for a map showing the site and "secret" parking spot Here's my sk8 bro Bruce "Norski" at a session earlier this year... If anyone wants to get a freestyle jam going, there's a good flatland spot in front of the Conservatory Building too... Anyone up for a downhill handstand distance contest?... If anyone needs to contact me those days, my cell phone is (925) 787-4726 Rich Sayers __________________ Slash grinds are fun!

Hey all, I'm living down in emeryville at the moment and have noticed that the parking lots over by the big E mall (office max, home depot etc) are very smooth and often quite empty. I was wondering if anyone wanted to get together and run some cyber/flattish slalom I got no cones but I got the stoke -julien

Walnut Creek was fantastic-- about 67 degrees at 8am, got up to about 81 at 11am. Had the whole park to myself for the first half-hour, tri-bowl to myself for another 20 minutes. There are a lot of trees around the park that block out much of the morning sun -- didn't even need sun screen.
Up until 10:30 there were no more than 6 skaters in the park!
Anyone in the Bay Area want to join me next Saturday July 22nd? -- or 29th or in August?

The Walnut Creek park opens at 8 am. The park has hardly anyone there between 8-11 am, even on weekends. We will likely have the tri-bowl to ourselves! Check out the park by clicking here.

EAST BAY 4-PARK TOUR....
Saturday June 17th Something for everyone.
8:30-10:00 am MoragaGet warmed up in this under-6-feet bowl with smooth transitions and fast roll-in. Also has a play area for kids if you've got family.
10:30am -2:00pm Walnut Creek with BBQ Get totally old school in the clover bowl that goes from 5 to about 8 feet deep. Attack the tall wall with cement lip. Grind the long and low quarters. Has 5 picnic tables and 2 BBQ grills next to sk8 park. If you have any non-sk8ers along there are play areas, garden center, tennis and swim center. I'll bring the charcoal and starter fluid. People can buy food at grocery store nearby.
2:30-3:30 pm Concord Go for some big fakies and Indy airs in this 8-plus-feet deep half pipe (with nice flat bottom for easy set-ups). Learn the secrets to high speed lines at this park from the locals.
4:00 - ??? Martinez Hit these 6-foot transitions and pump the hips for speed. If you're gnarly, transfer over the spine. Chill under the covered picnic area. Play area for kids and marina with nice views.

Hey, I live in pennsylvania. My friend and I started making decks. We totaly redesigned the deck with more concave and the nose and tail have alot better footing. Our old design come in second place behind alien workshop for strength and I know our new design is almost unbreakable. If anyone is interested in these decks just email me at wcracing@hotmail.com . We are working on carbon fiber inlays and we also can throw on a laminate bottom that grinds like ice. the laminate also adds strength and pop. So if your sick of breakin deck after deck, get a better deck......Killaboardskill
