Central Coast Mothers Favorites Racing, (CCMF) and Outlaw Ranch Productions are excited to announce the 2nd Annual April Fools Skate Jam `07. We are working with the CITY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO with this event and all proceeds go the Skate Park Fund.
On March 31st and April 1st. CCMF will hold our 2nd annual April fools sk8 jam. This skateboarding event will be one of the most unique events ever held in San Luis Obispo; it will truly be different kind of event.
Starting on Saturday in San Luis Obispo at the Trading Post Skate Shop, (662 Upham St., San Luis Obispo), from 11am to 3pm there will be a free sk8 in front of the shop. Come and check-out our new skate ramp and get skateboard and racing advice from Jonny Miller and the CCMF crew.
On Saturday night we have a very special event planned by Outlaw Ranch Productions. We will be hosting the 1st ever “Show of the Stars” skateboard art show. The stars include the legendary skateboarders, Steve Olson, Pat Ngoho, and Lance Mountain. This trio of world renowned skateboarders/artists, along with local skate legend/artist Jonny Miller and other local artists will be showing their art from 6 - 9pm, at the Meadow Park Rec. Building. (South St. at Meadow St., San Luis Obispo) We will also be showing skate & surf movies on a wall outside. Come and join us, it’ll be great fun for everyone. Proceeds from 2 donated art pieces will be donated to the City of San Luis Obispo, Skate Parks Fund.
On Sunday we have for you world famous Ritchy Carrasco, 360' king, along with his team mate Gary Holl and the SK8 KINGS TEAM. They will perform an awesome freestyle skateboarding demo at Santa Rosa Park. This is a first for the City of San Luis Obispo; there has never been a skateboarding event like this in the City. There will be many different kinds of board riding included in this all day event, (10am - 4pm). We will be having a contest for the highest ollie, best board trick, the most 360’s, and the high jump. There will be lots of freestyle skating and we’ll also have the most unique 1/4 pipe you’ve ever seen,
The skateboard park will be open during the event and will shut down for a short park slalom demo. The freestyle contest and the SK8 KING demo will be held in the roller rink next to the skate park. There will be a cyber slalom demo, and lots of time for free skating in the roller rink and skate park.
We believe that doing this kind of an event will open skaters to a multitude of different kinds of skateboarding. This in turn can open up the community to greater acceptance of skateboarding as a sport. Which will allow us @ CCMF RACING to have a more direct approach to providing instruction to the kids who take an interested in skateboarding as a sport.
Our events always include lots of prizes, awards and giveaways. Everything from stickers to complete skateboards will be given away so don’t miss out on all this great STUFF!
Entry fee for Sunday’s event is $5.00, Tee-Shirts $5.00. All proceeds support the Skate Park Fund.
