I'm also thinking of trying to make it up for Hood. I just had an accident of my own, but it's not skeletal, (well, there was a broken nose) So I'm gonna keep hitting our weekly sessions as long as I recover quickly. Not gonna go into detail, but I just had the trippiest, gnarliest bike accident ever. Glad to be walkin', talkin', and looking forward to riding some hills!

Welp, I'm riding slalom again. I'm finished with school for the summer and was reviewing the contest calender a couple weeks ago to see what was posted and decided I would make a showing at the Worlds in Hood River this year. It's been 4 long years since I dropped in on a ramp at the Worlds and since I'm off school I'm going to come to Hood so anyone who wants to take a shot at me can do just that. Practice started Saturday and yesterday. I figure with lots of weeks before the race, I'm getting started now so I can have my chops back by race day. As I'm sure everyone is aware, I'm undergoing some intense re-training at a secret slalom spot in or around La Costa (actual location withheld to protect access). Yup, La Costa...it feels like I've finally made it to the holy slalom training grounds. Anyway, in spite of an accident I was involved in last Wednesday, I skated both Saturday and Sunday...man oh man am I RUSTY! It's cool though and lots of fun of course. On the accident tip, I was involved in a 'T-Bone' accident last Wednesday...luckily I am fine, but my car is a different story, it's totalled. In brief, some jerkey ran a red and knocked me off my line. Luckily neither of us were hurt, although I'm sure the guy who hit me will 'feel' it for a while to come since it was clearly his fault.
Anyhoo, if anyone around here is interested in slaloming with a washed-up dude like me, hit me up.

Sorry for the absence ...been keeping busy though...skating a little here and there...surfing about the same...working here and there...riding motorcycles through Anza Barrago and around Lake Elsinore...CBR 900RR on layaway...skydiving, yes skydiving...37 yesterday!!!
Thanks for the birthday wishe Gary. How are you and Victoria?
Not skating slalom but thinking of putting together a slalom instructional video. Could be a 'tell all' type of video, I haven't decided yet. I would have to get the blessing of the Professor to give up such secrets though!!!
Hope everyone out there is well.
Later, MM

Ian, try www.sk8kings.com , go to the "slalom" section and scroll toward the bottom of that menu and you should find Radikal fronts and backs right there. Good Luck. -P

I currently ride the VRS for anything from open TS, to open Hybrid. I was able to use it in both the 'GS' and Hybrid in Hood. I say, GS in quotes because it was really just a long Hybrid, not really a GS. I'd say, you could probably get by with the CKMM for TS and the VRSII for everything else. Hope this helps...
As for the post from my Dad, perhaps you're right. Maybe I should be more careful how I word things, especially where bad karma has the potential to rear it's ugly head. With that, I apologize. I'm sorry, it appears as though the descriptor in my statement was taken as having more than the metaphorical meaning it was intended.
