Contest Info:

Cathlamet Slalom Corral will be a very relaxed day of dual lane Hybrid. I will be setting an open, flowing hybrid with the goal of having a course that is challenging for all and fast for the speedy. We will have the dual CSA start ramps that we used for the World Championships and tape switch timers.

The Slalom race will be held on River St. at Broadway and Front St. The surface is maybe a 7+/10 with a pretty mellow grade.

Prizes for all Jr racers, Trophies for top 3 Open racers.

Our event is run in conjunction with a push race on Saturday morning at 9am before the slalom race and the Downhill Sunday as the Main event. Consider staying overnight and watching some truly technical, gnarly speedboard action through the streets of Cathlamet on Sunday. After you see the course, you'll have to check it out.

Overnight camping is available on Puget Island. Only $5 a night. The campsite has porto-potties, a cooking shelter and plenty of soft grass. Check pdxdownhill.com for a map with directions soon. There is also a list of B&Bs on the Rip City Skate site. The link is listed below.

Cathlamet, WA is located about 40 miles west of I-5 from Longview. Check the Googlemap link for exact directions.

This weekend event is proudly sponsored by Rip City Skates, Subsonic Skateboards, Turn industries, Rayne, Longboard Larry, Madrid, Venom, Seismic, Ladera, Eastside Longboards, Switchback Longboards and the Cathlamet Chamber of Commerce.

I'll try to answer anyone's questions on ncdsa.com's CSA forum.

Waking up in my waterfront yurt, the sound of rain on the canvas roof was not promising. The planned noon start time was in question. Showing up at the wet race site, we found a few lurkers lurkin'. Being optimists, we started getting the ramps together, sweeping the course, getting some cars moved and doing our anti-rain dance. The usual.

After Zac set a super fun 40 cone hybrid, and tons of help from Brad, Cory, Styker, Jordan, and pretty much everyone, especially Part Chewning, we got under way about 1:30.

There was a great vibe going all day. Smiles all around. I think the DH guys were having more fun than they would admit.

I want to thank everyone from Cathlamet for their help and enthusiasm. Judy, Lynda, Sandy, and Allie were fantastic. An injured Jordan and Allie made the racing progress so smoothly. Thanks you two. And if it wasn't for Billy Bones and Judy, we wouldn't have been there in the first place. I think every single racers helped out in some way. Thank You everyone. And we can't forget to thank Joe at Timeship Racing. He got left off the original posting as a sponsor. We'll be hittin you up again Joe!

See you next year! Anyone for GS through the streets of scenic Cathlamet WA ?
