After an absence of almost 6 years Slalom once again returns to the much revered Brands Hatch GP Motor Racing Circuit in Kent, situated just 20 miles outside London.

The Rush 2011 takes place over the weekend of 25th/26th June as part the Time Attack weekend (see http://www.timeattack.co.uk for details).
While the motor sports will be taking place on the Indy Circuit we will be racing on Hawthorn Hill by the bridge on the GP circuit
Those that have not experienced the thrill of racing at Brands Hatch before now is the ideal opportunity to do just that and follow in the urethane tracks of some of the great names in Slalom!

Here’s a shot from 2005 showing Hawthorn Hill (courtesy of Mike John)

This event is also open to longboarders, downhillers and sliders. Dangerous Decks will be hosting slide clinics and holding a slide comp on the Duids/Hailwood Hill section of the Indy Circuit after 6pm on Saturday once the racing has finished for the day - complimenting the European Drifting Championships taking place over the weekend

Camping is available on Saturday night at a cost of £15 per head; we should have our own spot near the race site rather than in the main “petrol-heads” campsite over the other side of the track. As with all weekend events at Brands there will be a host of entertainment laid on for one and all on Saturday night including stalls, music, live bands and of course licensed bars!

As this is the first event for sometime at Brands and working with another event organiser I am conscious that we manage expectations, so rather than try to cram too much in over the weekend I want to keep things simple. Therefore we will be running a dual hybrid on Saturday with a GS on the Sunday. As already mentioned the Hill will be open for freeriding sessions between slalom events.

On Saturday evening after racing has finished on the Indy Circuit (at around 6pm) we have been invited to put on some demo races for the Time Attack spectators using Paddock Hill Bend. The format for these will be decided on nearer the time.

This is a flagship event, the Time Attack guys have already said if they like what they see we will be invited back to future events. Therefore and unruly or bad behaviour will not be tolerated. Any person(s) found to behaving inappropriately or jeopardising any future events at this prestige location will be removed from the site.

Entry fees:
All Weekend - £35 (incl. £15 camping)
One day - £15.00

Under 16's -free (but must be signed up)
These rates apply to racers only – see below.

All payments via PayPal to: ukssa01@gmail.com
Please state that your payment is for The Rush 2011 if you are just coming for one day please specify the day you are paying for.

Unfortunately due to the nature of the event non-participating friends and family and other spectators will have to pay the normal Time Attack admission fees – see their website for details on reduced price advance tickets.

IMPORTANT: PAYMENT MUST BE MADE WHEN YOU SIGN UP; YOUR ENTRY WILL NOT BE CONFIRMED UNTIL PAYMENT IS RECEIVED.

SIGN UP WILL CLOSE ON 5th JUNE 2011. I have to provide a list of confirmed entrants to the main organisers two weeks before the event in order to get passes for racers.
ONCE SIGN UP CLOSES IT WILL NOT BE POSSIBLE TO MAKE ANY CHANGES TO THE ENTRY LIST. STRICTLY NO ENTRIES ON THE DAY

For those not wishing to camp there are a number of hotels nearby however these tend to get booked up soon after race events at Brands Hatch are announced. Directions and more information on Brands Hatch can be found here: http://www.motorsportvision.co.uk/brands-hatch/circuits/brands-hatch.asp along with details of nearby hotels.
