Contest Info:	La Costa Boys and Sk8kings are planning a race in Oceanside, North San Diego County, on July 23 and 24. The race location is set. Both days will be at Loretta Street in Oceanside. This is a Main event. Loretta is a closed road, with a steep pitch to a less steep section where you carry speed, then a long runout. Little or no foot braking is necessary. The surface is aggregate with some rougher sections, and some smoother sections. Bring a canopy, as there is limited shade, but a nice ocean breeze. Friday - Event Registration begins at The Grind Skate Shop - 234 S. Coast Highway, Oceanside, CA 92054; 760 721 2608 (Bring your signed waiver, pay fees if needed and get venue directions, etc.) See Pat or Arlene at the shop. Saturday - Tight & Hybrid Slalom 8:30am Jr (17 and under) dual Hybrid (8am practice) 9:30am practice open for dual Hybrid 10:00am dual Hybrid. Two classes will qualify, split approximately in the middle. Masters ranks decided by placing. Break for lunch. Racer lunch sponsored by Bull Taco 3:00pm or so. Single lane tight, two runs. Choose your lane, easy (B) or hard (A). Hard will be 25-30mph. Saturday night, party/awards at Burger House - 515 Mission Avenue, Oceanside, CA 92054; (760) 757-5890 Sunday - Giant Slalom & Speed Trap 9:00am GS practice. 10:00am A class GS from the top, 2-3 runs. 11:30am B class and Juniors GS from the middle. Break for lunch. Racer lunch sponsored by Bull Taco 1:30pm Speed Trap. Start and finish line from the B class GS, unlimited push start (limited by the gate at the top) Must race in at least one slalom event to participate in speed trap event. Event results will be combined for overall placings in each class for the weekend. If a tie occurs -- results from the Hybrid event will determine tie breaker. Paypal $30 for Junior Class Entry or $60 for all other classes to lynnibob@sbcglobal.net Closest airports -- San Diego (SAN) (40 miles) or Santa Ana (SNA) (50 miles) -- Long Beach (LGB) and Los Angeles (LAX) are a couple hours north by car. Juniors and minors (under 18 years old) must have parent or guardian present (with signed waiver) in order to participate in the event. Directions and Parking. The racing area is buried in a subdivision. This map should give you an idea of the location of the event and parking. Highway Exit: From I-5 heading north, it is the next exit after HWY 76, Camp Pendelton Exit 54B and then an immdiate right hand turn on Capistrano Dr. Heading I-5 South, Exit 54C. left on Vandegrift, right on San Rafael, left on Capistrano, and on to Santa Anita Street to parking(1.5 miles).
