Portland is having it’s first legitimate downhill skateboard race on July 24th. The race will take place on the beautiful Mt. Tabor Park in SE Portland. The first half of the day will consist of a Giant Slalom Race and the second half of the day will be the “Old School” Downhill Race.
What do we mean by Old School? -Each rider will have two chalk lines drawn on their board that mark the area you can stand on. This will situate your feet so they are close to one another (think 80′s downhill steez).
Entry fee for both events is $50. Entry fee for Slalom only is $35. Riders can also pay $35 for freeride only. This also includes lunch provided by Hot Lips Pizza.
Safety Requirements: Helmet and Gloves for Slalom Race Full-Face Helmet and Gloves for the Downhill Race
Cash prizes awarded to the top 4 in the Downhill Race: 1st – $500 2nd – $200 3rd – $100 4th – $50
