sorry it took me a bit to get back to you guys, i was in a little tangle on the riding techniques page and got distracted.
as far as i know it's gonna be like the central park race a couple of months ago in which it was a race around the loop. it was also kinda run by the blades people, so if you give them a call (east 86st store), they might know some stuff.
prospect park is right up the street from the 7th ave stop on the F train in park slope.
as far as the psny vs. blades debate, i'm so much gonna defend psny. they had boards, completes and decks, along everything i needed and threw it together for me while blades had 2 crappy boards (i know they have a ton of stuff NOW, but psny came through for me).
sorry for taking up mad space on the page.later

NCDSA Meet Summary

The recent NCDSA meet in Fremont was a resounding success. About 15 people turned out for a beautiful morning of downhill and slalom. Scott Creek Road was in very good shape, with almost no debris and dirt (from the quary trucks) on the road surface. Unfortunately, Fremont police showed up after a while and politely asked us to move on, which we did. No citations were issued. We then reconvened at the parking lot at the base of the hill for some slalom runs, butt board runs, and photo shoot. A 20 cone slalom run was set up with 4 foot cone spacing, but that proved to be too tight for our longboards, so it was spread out to around 6-8 feet which was challenging enough. The best timed runs went to:
12.89 seconds - Mark Johnson 13.21 seconds - Eloy de Figueiredo 13.57 seconds - Greg Rose
More NCDSA events are planned for 1999, so stay tuned.

First time visit to web page, good job. Instantly saw some familiar names Randall (he's the man) Scott peer, MANU (Fellow Sector 9 team mate) Sick skating in Mammoth. TEAM FRANCE NO PANTS. See you at the Gravity Games. Also a few of you may have heard of the *420 RACE* in Hawaii. I, along with some friends (TRENDY CLOTHING CO.) are the proud organizers of this race. The 420 race is held on Tantalas Dr., a four mile road with nineteen (tight)hairpins with a mile long fast section in the middle. The next 420 will be the fifth annual race. This is an unofficial organized race down one of the beautiful roads on Oahu. This year there were about 45 irie riders racing down to the post keg party.

I hope you can pull this off! I've enjoyed many full moon sessions in the past and am looking forward to yours. The rangers can be a problem so be cool! Myself, I return from Hawaii the day before the event and am wondering in my out of shape condition and just a couple of months shy of my fiftyth birthday if I can beat some of you young guys?
See you there, please bring the cash. It is great incentive!

Brazilian Invasion! Come join the NCDSA for a little carving and bombing to honor the visit of Brazilian longboarder and hillcharger Eloy de Figueiredo. The location is Scott Creek Rd just east of 680 in Fremont, CA.
Directions from the East Bay: 880 South to 237 East (left) to 680 North (left). Right on Scott Creek Rd which is a few miles north of 237. Park at the bottom of the hill at the intersection of Scott Creek Rd and Green Valley Rd. Scott Creek Rd is a beautiful, wide and winding road that leads up to new housing construction and model homes. There are no houses on this part of Scott Creek Rd, but there is a gate house at the mid-point of the hill. It's usually unmanned but be cool anyway. Traffic is light but when cars do come (especially from the top), they're usually speeding. Be aware!
As always, bring your safety gear including your HELMET, and Skate In Control. See you there!

Simon Cvetkovich, 15 year old was killed skateboarding on a hill in Eureka Springs,AR over the Thanksgiving break 1998. He is from Wichita, Kansas and his friends are constructing a ceramic mural, under the direction of a professional artist. This mural is to be adhered to the exterior of his high school, Northeast Magnet. There will be a dedication ceremony,as the kids break for Thanksgiving November 1999, one year after his tragic death. Simon enjoyed playing his electric guitar and skateboarding as well as, being a forward on the Ice Storms hockey team and talented violist. The plan is to kick off a national campaign for helmet use and skateboarding education and safety. Please contact me if you need more information or would like to be involved.

Waoh, there was a big stand up race in Rudolfstetten, near Zurich,i'm skateboarding since years but had never seen such a big speed on a skateboard, with crazy sliding brakes from the french riders especially the winner, a fool but very cool man (he tried to explain us how to slide). There was also a excellent giant slalom, and Swiss riders were the best ones. My friends and i would like to see more contests like this one in Switzerland, were are from Lausanne and hope there will be a contest here soon ...
