Well, at this point, I am counting down the hours until the Sizzler. I've never been to Texas, and I'm sure this will be a great first trip. Plus, a huge number of Pavel Family will be on hand! See ya'll soon!

G.o.G fronts
On 3/18/2008 Adam W wrote in from Canada  (72.138.nnn.nnn)

I'm still slowly putting together my boards for this race season, could somebody explain the difference between the two front gogs other than the spacing sizes?

What are the major differences between them?

Whoa! Easy there Donny! I was seriously just kidding! I understand what makes a rider deserve a pro board. I guess it's just hard to type sarcasm.

some lessons here
On 3/16/2008 donald20 wrote in from Germany  (88.77.nnn.nnn)

making a pro board could have several reasons the overall attractivity of the rider paired with recent results of the last years paired with whatever

making a pro board is a touchy subject

when i look back at the folks that got one or will get one i will also give you the criteria for this...
price-no explanation needed i guess
pirnack-same here plus pro world champ
wadsten-same here double world champ am and pro(in my oppinion one of the most underrated skaters out there)
kowalski-not so many trophies on his desk, but some very important ones here in europe, lots of 1st places euro and some else.the popularity factor plays a big role here too
cbark-he more than earned it too,his reputation speaks for himself

i know that some folks will tend to say why does this guy or that guy have a pro board?
one of the main reasons for me is the sympathy level and of course-even more important-they developed their board too.they went through all the stages together with me to create a fine product.a product that is backed up by the riders input for over a year and which is still subject to even more improvements to come.

to each his own and time will tell who's next

New Toys
On 3/10/2008 Zak Maytum wrote in from United States  (67.173.nnn.nnn)

Here you go boys. Some pictures of my fancy new pavel/G.O.G. gear.
The Inteliflex GS board has completely revolutionized my GS skating. The flex makes it much easier to extend and get a good pump off of the harder offsets. Plus, the concave makes it so I never have foam the board!

The trucks, are also phenomenal. The TS proto is out of this world. You can make any course on that thing. If it's looser, you can crank it down and still make it no problem but gain quite a bit of pump. Finally, thanks to the Genious minds in Germany, I never have to wedge again!

Thank you Donald and Frank!

The Goods
On 3/8/2008 Zak Maytum wrote in from United States  (67.173.nnn.nnn)

Hey guys.
Today, COSS had one of the most epic sessions ever. Barker, Fluitt, Pirnack, Pappas, Myself, Martin Reaves, and Joe Mac were all present. We also all got to test out our new Pavel/G.O.G. toys.

First, the Inteliflex:
One word: Incredible. I had never ridden a flexy board before today, and I don't think I'll ever be able to go back. The concave kept me completely locked in and It was stiff when I wanted to double pump. But when I wanted that drive, it took off like a rocket! Pirnack felt the same way bout his.

Second, the new trucks.
The TS proto is really something else. It took us about an hour to get used to it and find a setup on it that felt normal. Once we got it a little figured out though, we could really run with it. You can run much stiffer bushings due to the quick turn. As a result, you can still make the cones no problem, but you can also pump the living s#@! out of them! Great reports from everyone on these.

Once again, you have really come through Donald. Thank you so much. Also, I passed the stiffer Inteliflex on to rich who is ultra stoked. I can't ride it due to it's stiffness (I tried), but he loves it.

I can't wait to see what's next!

~Zak~

Thanks for the info Sam. I can't make the 12th April although I would love to go, as fast is how i like it. I do have arrangements in place so I can come to wasteland, however I need to modernise my kit.

GOG in UK
On 3/2/2008 SamG wrote in from United Kingdom  (81.157.nnn.nnn)

David, the GOG trucks are machined in limited production runs as a labour of love by our German brethren for the slalom community. Speak to Michael Stride as regards the when the latest run might be, he is in touch with Donald at Pavel who is chief co-ordinator of such matters. Alternatively get in touch with Heiko at Concretewave.de. Herr Schoeller is usually the first stop once a production run is once again available.

There are two styles of prototype adjustible front trucks that are currently under testing by euro riders. you may have seen these at Cadwell. Certainly worth waiting for. I know I have a few notes spare in case of emergency.

But then you're fast enough as you are. Stick with the trusty Trackers or get over to Dusseldorf for the GOG Race on the 12th April. Then you'll be able to ask the meisterteknicians personally!

Sam
