I have spoken with CHP and at this time the 5 will REMAIN OPEN, should it close here is a back up rt. I also spoke with locals and they think the storm is too warm, it needs to snow around 3000 in Gorman to shut down that or alot of wrecks!. Storm will stay above 5000' so no worries! Wind will be constant 30+ mph tail wind with gusts up to 50 and 70 mph!!!! See you in the morning!!! CHEERS!!!!

You do not need chains for HWY 166 its in the farm land below the grapevine.
Only if you take the local highway (Cuddy Valley Rd - Mil Portero Hwy) through Frazier Park.

Directions
Take Hwy 5 to the "Grapevine" search cities of Frazier Park / Maricopa if unfamiliar with area. If coming from LA drive down the grapevine (if from the North, take last exist before gv)
the first exit is Maricopa HWY 166 exit and head WEST pass the orchards. Drive until road T bones and follow CA 166 / CA 33 to the left towards Elkhorn Grade. Drive up hill for 8 miles or so (you pass 2 runaway truck ramps)
TURN LEFT onto CERRO NOROESTE RD and drive 3 miles (You'll see a sign that says BITTER CREEK WILDLIFE PRESERVE)
TURN LEFT onto KLIPSTEIN CYN RD and park on downhill side
PARK ON DOWNHILL SIDE so you can NOT BE SEEN from Cerro Noroeste Rd.
$30 entry fee
MANDATORY RIDERS MEETING AT 11:00 AM Riders will establish qualifying brackets by pulling names from a helmet. A traditional bracket will be used. If you miss it you will not race.
Practice begins at 11:30 and will consist of 3 runs.
RACING BEGINS AT 12:00 NOON!!!
Bring big soft wheels and rain wheels.
It will be cold, dress accordingly.
CAMPING is available nearby on a first come first serve basis at the Hungry Valley OFF ROAD camp in GORMON, CA. cost is $10.
Frazier Park is UNDER SNOW!!! You will NEED a 4 X 4 AND CHAINS to get through the local hwy to get to Cerro Noroeste Rd. Even though it is longer take hwy 166. About a 2.25 hour drive from Los Angeles.
Please Do Not Ride the road before we start, we are in the Condor Sanctuary and want to keep a low profile, afterwards there will be many more hills to sesh and Templin Hwy is not too far away. ALSO, please leave no trash it is an EXTREMELY expensive ticket on this hill.
Thank You to our sponsors below.

Cerro Noroeste Rd, 2.5 mi 25-40mph, Full tuck sweepers, decreasing radius sweeper, straights, and an excellent race for beginners. Road is slightly rough, no cracks or major potholes just worn. Soft wheels are recommended.
Lodging at Mariposa Motel 8 and Castaic Lake Campground. As well as the finer hotels in Frazier Park.
Stay tuned for further info.
