I have been skating friday nites at SDSU untill it got hot there. You have a skate club @ UCSD right ? Sector 9 will hold a race @ SDSU but we need help.I propose two downhill races. One @ your campus and one at SDSU . If your skateclub can get the school to agree and maybe get SDSU to may up a skateclub I will get top riders there to show up and help get your club going big time. What do you think? It will be downhill racen.School againt school with lots of news and media coverage and bring the mascotts and the chreeleaders, it will be big!I am sure that The local collages wants some action too. well shawn and i have exchanged a few civil emails :), and i'd like to reiterare that i don't mean to attack him. i got upset at the idea of some millionaire coming in and potentially changing the sport... a chair lift longboard resort... nuff said... my faavorite thing about downhill longboarding is how close and accessable the community is. talk like this makes me feel like that is being threatened. so my apologies, but it a longboard resort gets built i'll cry and then whoop some butt.

hmm what a conicidence... Downhill Conspiracy Longboarding (DCL) is a group of riders in the fort collins area. we've been riding under that name for a year and a half now. the guys i ride with in DCL are some of the best riders in colorado and they're definately the most fun! we started making crappy homemade decks years ago and were using mittens and rollerblade wrist guards for sliding before slide gloves were even commercialized. we slowly met more and more individuals who were as passionate as us. it's a conspiracy, and we're dangerous brother. i don't know when you started calling your 'company' by the same name, but make no mistake: THIS DCL has NOTHING to do with commercialism, and the day i ride a fuc*in lift to the top of a hill like i'm on some amusement park ride is the day longboarding loses it's soul. the people's DCL is in it for the carve, the stoke, the history, the community. I think your company should be called WAL-MART LONGBOARDING. thanks to all the real rippers for reading this, who know that the only thing more to 'see and experience' is that next black betty road with your close friends. i apologize for my rudeness, and in no way mean to attack 'shawn' as an individual, i don't ebven know him. but we've all seen what commercialism does, it's up to US THE PEOPLE to cut it in the bud. keep the name if you want, but remember, there's another DCL, and that DCL is keepin it real.

Here in high desert we have madd volcanos that have blows there tops off and formed buttes all around. I garentee here has the wildest rides. Lots of old Pros like me retired here to. Also we have a world class skater here thats haveing his dreams ruined by laws. He needs help. Stevan is probally going to prison for what he does. He got written a reckless endangerment citation for haveing kids watch him. He was recklessly endangering the lives of the chilldren that were watching him. Now the DA believe he is Attempting suicide and Steve has nobody to help him say other wise. Then i see on the news this REAL life siderman fag who llegally climbs buildings with no safty and people love him for it. Well he could fall and land on some one. And Stevan in endangering the lives of of the kidz cuz there were watching. ARE f#@!ING KIDDING ME. Stevan built his empire no one knew of this 15 year old sport so he no help from sponsers. he made his own after rideing for sector 9 for 8 years. Now Multi-Billion dollar corperations want him. The Corp. that helps him own all the coca cola vending machines coin mechs and all fed ex and ups drop boxes. Stevan has 12 years left to live his life, and he is looking a 11-60 years in prison just cuza skate boarding. its not happening. People should support him like we are and watch him make world history that may never die. Stevan has choosen to die showing the world gravity manipulations that werent evan thought of yet, just like how Tony Hawk showed the world how he learned to manipulate the skate boards extremely powerfull Gravity field. Well s#@! i seen Stevan do is INSANE i'll give you a hint A retromotioned 900 gravitation spin. it is with out a dought this new form of skateing is the next Installment of learning "Can this gyro possably do more than these ollies kick flip shove its???

I've been a Professional Gravity Skater for 9 years Been doing it for 13 years. I was born in New Zealand but grew up ever where else. I had talked A familly member who owns a multi billion dollar corp., for some $ help to get a Gravity skate team here in central Oregon. Now i got the money, i got $10,000 to get a team going so i can compete and make it to nationals. Back in other places i lived it was no problem i made a liveing doing this. ya know what...
...i do kinda like the riverfront out there, as i remember there's a pretty cool sloping ramp close to the sculpture where the UFOs are expected to land, i believe it is hart plaza. the river walk is kind of a nice cruise as i remember it but it does have its share of tricky expansion joints last time i rode it. never came close to the stadium but i'd hazzard a bet that it has something to offer.
we've only started to explore the possibilities over here. the chef has come up with some grand suggestions, one particular location would be comprable to any cali location i've seen so far. imagine a race on some of the steepest cliff side roads at and exlusive beach in the swanky north shore part of town? big money never had it soooooo gooood!

Pretty flat is right....except at the college we skate at...Oakland county gets pretty hilly....i mean Big hills......Shelby's where i live...c'mon down!...I've always got an open door for ya brother...The city race would be pretty flat and take you from the new Tiger stadium, thru the theatre district, down thru Greektown, past the casino, down the business district and right into Hart Plaza on the riverfront....but that's a pump-and-go speed race...i "think" there's a spot for slaloming down in the Plaza similar to what you guys had in Grant, but none of us live in the center of the city, so we cant stroll over there as easy as you guys......not really a pedestrian friendly town, ya know?....unfortunately

i've had relatives who lived in the grosse pointe area so we have stayed in town on occasion. really like the greek town area for the action too. i thought the city had little or no place to go into cruise control until i discovered the riverfront some years back. shelby and utica might be the places i'd stay when we visit some time soon as this is where our relative relocated to in order to convalesce. its all pretty bloody flat out there if you axe me...
...there's gotta be something we're not looking at.

As much as i love Motown, Al, i dont know if we'd be able to do what you did, even geographically speaking. Chicago is easy for us, St Lou, Southern OH, even Wisconsin....Detroit's not placed so well in comparison....and i hate to admit it....but the locals walking around that park were damn nice...i think we'll have to have a day downtown in the next week or so to see how the general public takes it.....if they're cool with it, then a definite maybe....Other than that, it's going to be the Motown Showdown inner-city-on-the-streets-in-traffic longboard race coming sometime this summer...i'll keep you posted....
