can we please make this site have a sign in and register thing so people cant post so much spam anymore. its really getting to the point where i dont even want to come here anymore. i really dont post that often but i've always read the boards regardless over the past 8 years. it saddens myself and im sure countless others to see this site that was once such a tight community of laid back friendly people turned into this constant bickering and spamming. It brings everyone down when they have to read the arguments and fighting over such pointless details in the grand scheme of things. i think everyone needs to step back and look at why they were drawn to this sport to begin with and why youre still with it today. yes, it is growing rapidly, perhaps more than anyone could have forseen but we need to embrace these changes. we need to set an example and lead the way for the new generations of our sport. no matter what the discipline is we all need to come together and enjoy it. its time to stop spreading rumors, hate, arguments, and whatever other nonsense has been going on and time to spread the stoke and the true values that are in this sport. who knows if my post will make any difference at all but im just happy to get this all out. like i said, its been painful to watch one of my favorite websites go downhill recently (no pun intended), and all i want is to see some changes so that people will register and the spam and hate posts will stop. i think that ive rambled on for long enough now. hopefully, this gets out to people and makes some sort of impact, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant. peace don ron

ADAM, I have a request. Can you change the name SPEEDBOARDING to DOWNHILL please? I think it would help our sport grow more. I have talked with a few of the other downhillers about the title on this website, and I think it should be updated to the year 2007! DOWNHILL sounds better regarding the posts that get posted under the current name SPEEDBOARDING. What do you other downhill skateboarders think about that? Just a suggestion, that could help this website I think!

DT, check out the Megatransect with Mike Fay and Nick Nichols of National Geographic. They didn't have a camera in their faces 24/7, but they accomplished much while dealing with all the danger and hardships of treking thru the African jungle.
There's a great book called "The Last Place On Earth" that details their efforts. It weighs about 10lbs and It's not cheap ($100,) but it's well worth it.

Crickey !
Steve passed away today while filming an underwater dive shoot, he got the mean end of a stingray barb through his chest.
i'm bummed, i really enjoyed watching his work. very inspirational.
add him to the list of the brave that died doing what they love.
i admired him a lot. Timothy Treadwell, too. Both exhuberant pioneers in the nature field. One more repected than the other due to training. both risktakers. that leaves Dave Salmoni.

O.K, I admire your humor, If I only had the computer savy to change faces and add captions it would be endless! But I've got true images that would possibly bring it to a reality. As I stated to Mr. Farid, (not in so many words) I respect your outlook and opinion, as long as it resides in the beliefs this nation was founded! I do, however ask you to open up your eyes even wider and if traveled..compare the other hardships to those you face . It's truly unimaginable! DAMmIT..that's 3 on me!

Bara, I just read your post on the C.W forum, I'll not respond in hopes you read this and understand the situation. The folks I spoke to yesterday can take issue on their own and let it be between them and the owner! You need to relax and settle in before you come out raging! O'k..... for you, the first 2 are on me! Relax

Mr. Farid..and Mr. Bara and others that have conducted themselves with un-punk (no bad conotation implied) Your intelligence and beliefs rest peacefully, and are an important part of leaders whom others look up to. I realize the scene of skaters wanting to revolt, often it is a front and not backed up by factual understanding! I am a retired Colonel and was called back to duty for a 4 month period, I've witnessed the lack of discipline and knowledge that you possess. Keep it up, what ever it is you're doing, just be true to yourselves and country! P.S The first round is on me!

Yup, I should've made more of my old bumper stickers (from the first Bush's tenure). It said "Just another Apethetic Citizen of the Untited Corporate State of America". Luckily, Canada isn't very far away, even though I now need a Passport to see relatives who live better lives up that way.
The real problem with Democracy is that it takes Involvement in our government. Americans simply have gotten too lazy of late.
Peace.

Prose w/o tone or inflection can be interpreted in a negative conotation and because of this I was wrong.
I apologize Oldtimer.
I just felt we all need our checks and balances and on this thread you have been consistant in admitting your rights and wrongs. You've lead by example and have agreed to disagree.
Why can't our elected officials, regarless of party affiliation, claim the same accountability?
The power is in the people from the ground up! Not from the top down! Never let our politicians forget!
It's about all of us, not just the elected few and their well funded lobbyists.

Farid, You're incorrect in my being un civil towards Mr. Bara. However, I do stand corrected for my remarks concerning Vendors p.o.v. I disscussed the matter w/ 3 of them yesterday while in the process of ordering some new age equiptment. It would be considered second hand information. I was wrong, and will leave it to them to take up with the owner of this site.God...What a great land we live in! Be thankful.

Oldtimer -
I appreciate you brining back your civility in regards to Bara. But I hold contention towards you talking FOR the vendors in regards to Adam's choice of the black screen. Let them voice their own opinions for themselves; otherwise we are staring down the path of propaganda.
Besides the minor indescretion, you've based your stance on personal experience which has formed your opinion. With that it breeds healthy debate without personal attacks nor hearsay. Rise above.
In regards to Kennedy; the questions of what he did in his personal life as President is as deabatable as who killed him. Let's focus on what's going on now, not 45 years ago. (Especially since I was born in '67.)

In all reality, what I was trying to imply was:
All wheels have their merits, try and make a choice that works for you. REGARDLESS of brand.

Bara, I'm truly sorry if the feeling of threat, be it physical or mental was an issue. I'm the last person you'll meet to purposely offend a fellow American acting in what he/she believes! I was only 14 years old when JFK was assasinated. It wasn't until a 1/2 dozen years later that I learned of his short comings while researching his realm for project. You just seem to be one of the younger and more impressionable bodies that have learned recent history by reading/ and or,listening to a one sided finger pointing society of far right winged ones. I again appologize if taken personally. I only recently started skateboarding after a 27 year break and met some of you guys at races and learned of this site thinking it'd be refreshing. To be welcomed with a Black Screen rejecting our leader and chief of staff is not only a STRONG leap backwards, but a trust breech from several of the vendors who bestowed their finances to keep this site running. My mind and body has payed plenty to not have to witness this mis-use of funds by someone who professes to know whats right, while in truth violates everything concerned by visually and mentally forcing his politcal stand on youth/skaters and all who enjoy this site! Ironic? I think so. I'll try to get over to the race in North Carolina, and look forward to shaking your hand. Be assured tho, just cause I'm an older generation, doesn't mean I can't remember what I was taught!

"If you impeach Bush, who becomes president? Is that a better choice?"
haha...good question
Seems like another diversion from the real hard work of winning the 2008 election, which is what they should be worrying about and focusing on. That's why, in spite of my liberal attitude, I hate the democrats. Their leadership couldn't lead ants to a melted popsicle! My grandma's got more fight!
Still, glad to see ncdsa take SOME sort if stand. Get you guys talking.....
I love all you guys and gals and like to see other dimensions displayed, besides skating only. That gets boring after awhile. I skate w/ hardcore democrats and hardcore republicans and that's just the way I like it.
Keep up the good work.
