This aspect of our site definitely needs work (we've grown too big -- 30MB of posts and counting!). I'll post some zips per roger's suggestion.

If ok with NCDSA, I could save archive html, compress them to a zip file, and email to those having problem accessing them otherwise.

nick, you're right. Even with 15 k/sec I'm not able to read everything, especially in the bigger sections like wheels or trucks. Everybody should be able to read the archives, not only the few with T3+ internet connection.

When searching archives I often get a "found x amount of entries..." But half way down the page it says operation timed out, anyway of getting around this to view really old posts?

Fuzz,
Cool, Way before wakeboards, before skurfers (ancestor to wakeboards), before kneeboards, when slalom water skis with tiny thin tails and deep full concave bellies where the choice for spraying up "water walls" behind a boat - there was tow lines attached to cars, a few skateboarders trying "water ski styles" of riding. This was back in the '70's, but bet others also did it before, getting towed is a natural thing to try.
Ironically, I just recently put together a tow line (could not find any economical dynamic lines, so had to use a short static line with a bungee end). Sure did give me pleasant memories of summers decades ago. To scared to do some hard laybacks, would like to keep my skin.
I would strongly encourage you to get a leather suit and helmet, then see what can be done with a tow line. Sounds like you are doing way more than we ever tried/dared. Post some "fuzzy" pics :)
"HIT IT!"
Roger
btw: have you tried 75' and 50' lengths, very different - way fast cutbacks!

G'day Angel Cakes... It's been a while, how you all been? Some pretty experimental riding has been going on in my neck of the woods... Been trying out oiled and super soft bushings (yawn you all say?), Ok, what about a 5ft (I kid you not) longdeck (with 70mm Blue kryptos) pulling Coleman stylee power slides at approx. 40mph? (still yawning?) Okay...here's the new contraption developed by the one and only FUZZBOX DESIGN SOLUTIONS...
ROAD WAKE! (KA-POW!)
Yup, a road wake board, 40", squared off, deep cut-outs (currently using PIVOT Sector 9 trucks, gonna try the RII's), foot straps (adjustable for different styles and stance - goofy, regular etc), and running the trusty 80a krypto's on this deck too (currently experimenting with different durometers). It works a treat! Get a mate to tow you (preferably he/she driving a car at a steady 25-30mph) on nice open, smooth tarmac (I've been testing on an airstrip), deep turns and airs. Gonna rig up some ramps pretty soon. Oh yeah, let go of the rope when you fall...I've got more scabs than skin - bailing with the foot straps gets a bit tricky too!
No job too big... FUZZ xxx

I'djust like to give a quick shout-out to two people who will probably be seeing the NCDSA forums for the first time this week:LET'S HAVE A BIG ROUND OF APPLAUSE FOR my oldest (and MOST able) skate podnuhs:LADIES AND GEMMUN:THE INFAMOUS FLYIN"CLAYTON BROTHERS!!!!(oh,and BTW:they know the EXACT LOCATIONS of ALL the places I keep talking about;Doug and Chris were with me for MOST if not all of my 'first descent ventures"throughout the Spokane Area. Welcme to NCDSA,BOYZ! P.S.(To anyone who tries riding WITH these guys;DO NOT ATTEMPT THE LINES THEY DRAW THROUGH TURNS AS THEY ARE RUBBERMEN AND YOU WILL JUST EMBARRASS(and endanger)YOURSELF...Seriously these guys can RIDE FOR REAL..Just hang back and learn before you go ascrazy as they do..Example: once they did a catamaran (on freshly paved Grand AVE)...Suffice to say they topped out about 40,then promptly threw a 90 degree turn onto a side street and SLID IT TO A STOP..(the only thing injured was the sanity of the witnesses).THEY QUALIFY.....WINSTON

Jon,
Thanks for the help... I never ended up having to call... they came through on a commitment that was made to my youngest son (One of their riders had promised him a catalog and a bunch of stickers). So S9 gets an HR thumbs up on customer service... HR

Hey Alex, Is that Quebec City? I live on the west island of Montreal. It's great to here from someone around here who actually enjoys riding longboards. The few people I've met who own one don't seem to stoked about it. To them, it may as well be a hacker bike they ride to the beer store. They're just posing. But that's okay, posing helps educate the public, in a funny sort of way. Salute, Alex

never knew there were so many. Here in holland skateboarding is bleeding to death. in my hometown there only 5 skateboarders left on a population of 40.000. Longboarding doesn't live here. Some skaters know what it is. When i see longboarders in Amsterdam i know there tourists. I use my longboard as a means of getting about instead of the everpopular bike, or those infernal skates
props to your longboard. may you glide on the smoothest asfalt there is.

Yeah, those old Kryptos, nothing, NOTHING, has ever been that smooth since,no core, 78a urithane very mushy,i think one of the reasons they felt so fast in moderatly stressed situations was that they weren't even hard enough to sideload the bearings, so they spun nice, unfortunately they also let the bearings tear out.
