HC:
That hakka board you got was a giant pig and it was the worst shaped butt board in the world. I dont know what went wrong with the board you got from the hakka dud but he did make some really nice boards for the "Roger bros" Not to mention i almost baught one.Shape has so much to do with the ride, I shape the board that i got from Mario and it makes a big difference.
HC trim that sucker down and you might like it better or just burn it
if you ever whant to go ride i have about 4 flat buttboard sreeming for someone to ride them. Parking garage, dinasore point? always looking for someone to ride with Parks,Slalom, downhill streetluge, buttboard or pools pools pools Mario, HC anyone else??????????? HC how life in the hood ? land of the fast guys

concave or no wave

Mario's concaved boards are by far the best! Not to mention they are light and very very stiff. They hold you in better on fast sweepers, no sliding on your board at hi speeds 60+

concave
On 10/2/2005 Mario wrote in from United States  (67.169.nnn.nnn)

Concave is better IMO. You get more leverage, it's more comfortable, more wheel clearance (almost like wheel wells), and a stiffer deck. I've made a few (Rian James and Mark Johnson race my boards). I don't know why flat would be better, but a lot of it is personal preference.

Cool, so i'm on the right track then.
So why do you not see buttboards with concave? I've seen those curved wing like boards but no classic shaped with concave, i would have thought it would have been good to help stay on the board and to ease steering???

buttboard trucks
On 9/22/2005 hc wrote in from United States  (168.149.nnn.nnn)

munchh, all I know is that many people run r2's with the hanger flipped.

the main difference between standup (35deg) and luge is that luge/bb trucks are run with much tighter setting and harder bushings. The reason is the low cg (of your body) and lack of balance when laying on your back makes it impossible to run a loose truck (wobs).

(there is a pic in there by Chaput that shows the bb setup)

nice home made boards btw.

trucks?
On 9/11/2005 Munchh wrote in from European Union  (86.132.nnn.nnn)

Hey Sean, i've been waiting for someone to enlighten me since last month?

From what i've been told you can reverse the hanger on the R180II longboard truck, which gives them a lower profile and makes them less turny and more stable, i've been doing this for a while on my longboards as i'm quite heavy and it seems to work, i've been told it makes alot more diffrence to downhill and luge trucks than the longboard truck....

Anyone know different.....

Come on, there must be someone?

Here is the pic of my Lott Classic Buttboard with Randal Buttboard trucks and 70mm red Kryptonics. The Flashbacks seem faster but the Kryptos work good.

Can U?
On 8/5/2005 Marc F wrote in from United States  (152.163.nnn.nnn)

The regular skateboard will work but what I recommend is a Lott Classic Buttboard with Randal Buttboard Trucks (make sure you buy the Buttboard trucks and not the longboard trucks) and some Abec 11 Flashbacks. I also use 70mm Kryptonics( you can experiment with different colors and hardnesses). Make sure you buy 70MM wheels. If you decide to race you will have to have 70MM wheels to be legal. The 70MM Flashbacks are really fast and they look cool in the lime green color. You should go ahead and get some Abec 11 Biltin bearings or Reflex bearings. They seem to roll faster and they already have the spacers built in. *** The main thing I recommend is a full set of leathers, a motorcycle helmet, and some motorcycle gloves. I have seen too many people going fast on Buttboards, or standup skateboards without leathers and no helmet. Some use the protec helmet and knee pads but this is not going to be adequate. The protec helmet and pads will not be enough protection for a 40 mph crash. So get yourself a Lott Classic Buttboard, a set of used AGV leathers (around $200 on Ebay), a Shoei Motorcycle helmet, AGV gloves, and don't forget your High top Vans for braking!!! Good luck and start out slow ( This is my opinion of these products)

Yes, you can buttboard on a skateboard, its just in most cases not as good as a buttboard that has a nice and wide platform.
