I'm from melbourne austraila and i am going to college as a seaside toun with lots of surf beatches with huge sand dunes, the oyher week I found a old snowboard at the tip, i am in the process of converting it into a sandboard, how to i make the bindings? i have the propper screws for the board, what straps work the best Velcro or buckles?, elastic? the reason the board was at the tip was because the bottom plastic lawer was comming off, i cut off what was comming off and smoootherd it with a heat gun so now it only is covered by roughly 2/3 of the bottom of the board. do i remove the rest and replace it, but with what? and whare do i get it from?

Sand Master Park is holding a 4th of July open house with demos, give aways and free concert for all attending.
If you havent' been to Sand Master Park and tried out the rail slide park, the pro launch and jump or the indoor simulator, this is an opportunity you won't want to miss!

As promised, here are some photos of my friend and I at our local dunes - er, quarry. Thing is the photos are in an album, so here's what you do to view them:
- go to www.web-a-photo.com
- On the main site, type squashedbanana@hotmail.com into the blue "Album search" box. Then click "go"
And then you can double click on my only album there. Please feel free to e-mail any comments etc. about the photos or sandboarding in general :)

Both strapping systems are very good. Its just a matter of knowing how to adjust them. The main thing is that anything you use has to have a heal strap otherwise your foot will want to come out everytime you try to turn.
I would definately try one of those Venomous Sports though if you like the Freecarve. The Sport flexes. With that flex you can carve tight turns. A friend compared it as the board being "alive". I would try one if you get the oppertunity. And its a twin tip so you can ride switch and rails too.
Yeah you can't wax when you ride wet. And riding wet sand hardly ever works. The best is when its raining, WHILE its raining. Just don't wax. But yes, wet hard-pack is definately not as easy on the body as the dry stuff. Try some of the SMP Park wax too. That's even faster then the Speed Wax. The only trade off though is you usually won't get as far as the Speed Wax on the bigger hills. Can't have it all I guess.
Slip it! Slide it! Ride it!
