OFF ROAD XT'S -GOODYEAR RUBBER
On 3/12/2007 Rick wrote in from United States  (66.74.nnn.nnn)

If your looking to bring back off roading..Look no further than Goodyear Rubber of So Cal. Call them RANCHO CUCAMONGA CAL. Ask for Marty.. #909-292-7908 Let him know how much you really really would like to get off roading back on the map again...I miss it too.. I'm the former owner. An over seas company knocked me out of the market with something that wasn't a true off road wheel and filled WAL-MART with crap... I won't mention what country but their food is good. Look to a cumunistic country which LATELY we seem to enjoy building their economy up rather than our own..Thats where you fine some fat,guy counting our American Money.

my new deck
On 5/25/2006 G.force wrote in from Canada  (207.194.nnn.nnn)

Hey whats up? Just thought I would share a little here as I am in the process of creating a new island deck for myself, as my old vision deck doesnt ride very well where I am now living. My new deck has those huge Tonka style wheels with 180 trucks, the deck itself is a renovated board created by yours truly. I'm hoping it can handle the terrain here as the roads are quite raw and my old wheels always slide and can never pick up enough speed to please me. find a way I say.. skating is my connection to a lot of things within me, it is a must have!

new to off road
On 3/16/2006 matt wrote in from United States  (67.171.nnn.nnn)

hey,
i'm new to all of this mountainboarding stuff... so no response is too obvious.

i'm wanting to get into mountainboarding, and have longboarded alot for the last
couple of years, down hilling and carving, and cruising. i was looking at a mbs jeep renegade board, looks decent. Do i need a brake, or are the useless? what else do i want to think about? tire size? truck type? can it ride on pavement? bearings?

feel free to email me,
thanks

mountainboarder
On 12/21/2004 tom t wrote in from Canada  (64.228.nnn.nnn)

hi guys,girls...checking in from toronto...Never seen anyone mountainboarding round here, but i'm hooked. I longboard and currently skate my new homemade 36" flexdeck...was on an LY Pinner (rock solid) but MY GOD! Riding a flexy longboard taught me how to ride the flexy MBS Core 16 deck MUCH BETTER than I could before. Anyway, never rode any other mountainboards but this one feels top-notch to me. I'd say the trucks are indestructable unless the whole thing flew over a cliff. A bit sluggish till you really get the feel but I think I got it now!... I mostly haven't been using the bindings though...seems kinda scary to me. Can you jump out of those single-toe-strap bindings if necessary or does the board tear off your leg at the knee?

oh no, do not get a mongoose, unless their boards have changed i would not get one. the litecamb was the first one i got, and i broke the skateboard style trucks in about a month, then i got a unicamb and broke the deck in 5 days, then they wouldn't give me a new one. the trucks from the unicamb are good but i dont like the shock dampeners from mongoose, i prefer the mbs eggshocks. i prefer mbs for overall quality for everything, the mongoose boards are also several pounds heavier. i would recommend an mbs jeeprenegade or cj5. it does kinda depend on how tall you are and how much you weigh.

Daniel - That depends on a few different things. Weight, height, location...

Probably the best bet I can suggest right off for a begginer is the Mongoose LiteCamb or the Mongoose UniCamb. http://www.mongooseatb.com/ Comes with everything you need except padding.
