Yeah sorry Joseph, the reason is because I can't get off work in August it seems, which suck-diddly-ucks, but what can you do when you work in a snowboard store in winter?

Yeah, I'm living in Japan, but I'm out in the countryside far away from any other slalomers.
I've never actually raced a proper race, but I occasionally set up cones in my street, much to the amusement of the octagenarians that live there.

Yo Bugs, Excellent, we'll still be here, slaloming away! Looking forward to adding another member to the crew, we'll see you next year! Are you living in Japan now? I've heard about some slalom over there, what's the scene like? (if that's where you live...)
------------- Hey Simon, Cool, I'll be away the weekend of Aug 15, make it any other weekend and we'll get some skating in.
Peace out...

I'm moving back to Sydney (my home town) in April next year, and I'll be one more warm body to be a part of the emerging Sydney slalom scene. So don't go away before I get there.
Those pics of slalom in front of the cathedral are damn good - natsukashi!

Hey Klangster,
It would be awesome to have a worldcup comp in this region. The scene here is just kind of getting started, we don't have the same amount of slalomers yet as other places. But it is definitely growing. I am interested in working towards organizing a big competition here, but I think it still will require some time to mature the scene and get people interested. In the meantime I continue to be on the lookout for good slalom venues where a race could be held. I'll keep you updated on how things develop.

Across from Hyde Park, we ran some cones right in front of the Cathedral. A religious experience. Joseph, do you remember when this was? Back in Nov or Dec I think. After a couple of hours we got the boot...

Klangster!
Hur maar du?
Here in Sydney we are getting a slalom scene together, but as for the other Asian capitals you mention I have no clue. I don't think there has been any discussion on this board from people in those countries. It's funny, I used to live in Singapore for six years in the early nineties. Awesome place to street skateboard, all over the Downtown areas... Who knows about slalom though...
What's your story, do you speak indonesian? I know what "jalan" means...
You'll have to let us know if there are plans for races in the Asian region, I'll be there no doubt...
Peace Haggy

Yo Jadranko! Congrats on your placings, you did well my friend! I have been following the contests, wish I could have been there...
A 3week European skate trip would be pretty damn cool. Make no mistake, I would love to go over there and race in some competitions. But we'll see where I'm at next year. thanks for the invitation though, who knows, I might turn up on your doorstep...
In the meantime, I'll be hanging here, doing some skating and having a good time. We've had some good sessions at Allawah lately, some fun racing with just a stopwatch. Not exactly accurate, but close enough for our purposes...
Take Care in Europe! Good luck with the other races... Peace out Haggy
