Man, it is pouring outside, coming down in buckets. The forecast for tomorrow is isolated showers, mainly morning, so hopefully we'll have a clear afternoon to run cones. If we do have a rainout, the contest will be delayed till later in the month.
Scott, you are getting so much faster every time we skate, it's fun to see. Watch out everyone else, Scott is gonna smoke you!
Hasta manana, skateboarders!

Thanks for the great tips the other night Paul. You seemed just as stoked to see me listen and do and go noticably faster each tip. Till I had that many tips in my head I wiped 8 cones in a row. I dont see anyone beating Paul or Haggy on saturday but if I get my footing right into the first cone, look out. Im shootn for third. Hang on a minute, I havn't raced the oldskoolteam yet. And I hope Joseph hasn't been practicing! Can't wait....

So who's getting ready to race a bit of slalom on Saturday?!
For all you downhill guys, I hope you're not expecting a big hill, because that's not what you're gonna get. But it will be fun to feel the thrill of racing head-to-head against someone else and the pressure that entails.
Paul and I checked out the site again yesterday and scoped the alternatives. The footy game is on Sunday so we should be good to go. Unless there is something big going on at the Stadium, this parking lot is basically dead.
The best thing will be for us all to park our cars inside the parking lot. That involves paying a fee but also lessens the chance of the rangers getting cranky, as cars are not supposed to park outside on the road. The fees are $6-2hrs, $9-3hrs, $15-unlimited. If you can't hack this leave your car somewhere on the road outside the parking lot.
I'll have 3 slalom boards with me and there are others, so there will be enough around for everyone to share.
I'm looking forward to some grudge matches coming out of this one!!
Alrighty folks, any questions?

Hey Adrian, Great to hear from you! You better be coming to the Outlaw race this weekend! I'm living on the North Shore now, you can get a ride down with me if you want. As far as boards go the Roe Crossfire is certainly a good board. I'm into my Roe, which I bought directly from Roe. If you come out on Saturday you can try a bunch of different boards and that will also give you a better feel for what you what. Cool, let me know. Give me a call if you want 9416 1719 0417 499 404

Sydney Outlaw Racing!

We are having a race, for real this time.
Events: Longboard/Giant Slalom, Hybrid Slalom (maybe tight if there's time)
When: 2 pm, Saturday Oct 2
Where: Sydney Olympic Park, P5 (Parking lot 5)
Prizes: the honour, the stoke, and a couple of sets of bearings...
This is a great spot, wide, smooth asphalt. The only potential problem is the bust factor. There is definitely a chance that we will be told to leave, but we have a backup plan in place.
How to get there: Drive to the Olympic Park, follow the signs for P5. There are three parking lots named P5, we will be racing at the southernmost of these. You can't miss it, I will be there, you will see other skaters, cones, etc. I have yet to make a decision as to whether we should park in the parking lot or outside on the road, it depends on how many cars we are. You may get ticketed for parking outside the parking lot, but you obviously have to pay to park inside. Alternatively, you can take the train or the ferry to the stadium.
There are no shops nearby, so bring plenty of drinks and food. Also, let's be on good behaviour if the rangers come by. Paul and I were skating there the other night and the ranger came by to check us out, shone lights on us, but left after a minute without saying anything. So hopefully we will be left in peace.
If there happens to be a big event on and there are lots of cars in the area, we will go to the alternative spot. So if you show up and there are lots of cars parked there and you can't see anyone, call me and I will direct you to the other spot.
Please note my phone number: 0417 499 404
Remember, we have no permission for this so it may be a complete bust. But there are other spots in the area so we will work something out.
Hope to see you there!

See you soon, can't wait to go skating!

Hey Boyd, Keep your eyes out for any spots where we can slalom, bike tracks, walking tracks, car parks, etc. If you find a decent spot I'd definitely be up for coming up and running some cones with you guys.
Hell, even if there is no where to slalom I wanna come up and try some of that ATB action. That looks like a lot of fun. How about ATB banked slalom down the snake run, fastest down wins! could be pretty cool...

it is good to see some people spreading the scope of what is boarding in aus, hope its a good day sunday for your slalom, the photos of allawah look great and it must be great not to get boosted we have a family based session at the indoor sk8 park here till 12 on sunday so i wont be able to get down but i will keep an eye out for your old school sessions, i really like pumping speed on the sector 9 deck, sorry i missed cliff to get some skills for sliding i think i might be able to get a few people to come down for some slalom cones in future - we have a crew of people riding sk8 and mountainboard and formed an association last year: atb central coast inc. to run events, we do a mix of freeride long road runs - slide and carve and freestyle on dirt, grass, tar and concrete, this is our association page (no sk8ing photos sorry just atb (very long boards)): Click here for link this is my page Click here for link if we found a site to run some cones would you guys be interested in making a trip up to the coast?
