Those Monday nights in Yoyogi koen sound like a great idea. I've just emailed a few people about them, so hopefully it'll grow.
The only problem for me is that I live a 3-hour train ride away, so Monday nights aren't a goer.

Hey Bugs - Good on ya spreading the word. That should be a great time!! I will unfortunatetly be working out in Yamanashi that weekend with board in tow but would love to get over there to see the event come off. I am hoping a friend of mine will be able to check it out.
Next week Monday the 8th there is a skate night kicking off just inside the West Gate to Yoyogi Koen in Tokyo. There is a lit run there that makes a good place to gather the masses :-) All are welcome, bring your board, cones, whatever... There is an announcement about that on the message board at www.outdoorjapan.com There is also a whole section there about longboard skating in Japan that is growing quickly. Contributions are always welcome and it is a way easy way to promote events and write them up after they come off. Good luck in Yokohama - AC

2004 AJSA Dual Slalom
Date: Sunday 14th November Time: Entry at 10.00 am, Racing at 11:00 am Location: Kugenuma Skate Park Course details: Straight dual slalom on a flat course. Two events - 160 cm cone distance and 210 cm cone distance. Click here for all the details.
This will be my first ever race. In fact it'll be the first time I've ever seen anybody pump a skateboard other than on video, but I'm hoping to be competitive. I can get my 27.5 inch wheelbase board through 210 cm cones OK, but I'll need a shorter board for the 160 cm race.

Hey Tim im in sydney and supply the deck you need.I can make you a custom deck to your needs. The drop through has been tried and tested at speed and is stability central but still very reactive in turns.Drop throughs are great for going down the road to get the milk because there low and kicking is easier. The dogzeye can take up to 92mm flys and has a carbon core with layers of fiji hardwood 12ply and another layer of carbon on the underside. You can see a good shot of the deck on the old skool team site in vids(click on the 9# vid )Send me an email or call me on 0415855995. Cheers :Kanufi

I am wanting to buy a quality drop through low c g deck for a nice carve board. I am thinking a downhill style deck that i will probably fit with Original 8's or somthing like that. I want it low for stability and easy pushing but i will fit some turny trucks and big sticky wheels. Can any one sugest a deck here in Sydney? Or where can i get some good thin ply to make my own? I am just getting back into skating after 25 years (i'm 40 now) and love my slalom board my 7 year old gave me but its not good for pushing ( too high) and not great for comuting. man i wish Grippins were around 25 years ago! tim when getting stuff shipped get it done through usps (us postal service) and see if the vendor can write commercial samples or a fake birthday note and value it as such.

I bought trackers direct over the net and they were about 70 or $80 . $18 US each + postage. Its the postage you pay for. My Abec 11 Grippins were about 100ish

yeah, a day running cones at san remo sound like fun. boyd, if you get permission, let us know and we can set up a date for an impromptu race where everyone can go up and hang and ride and meet everyone else. i'm buried with work and exams for the next couple of weeks, then thinking of going on vacation to asia for a month, so not sure when i'll be around.
went for a skate last night, didn't wear slide gloves, stupid me. of course i went down on a rough patch of road and took a chunk out of my hand, nice one!

hey there thanks for that i have got a reply from buddy at tracker he said he'd email a retailer i am trying to get permission to use the hot mix at the san remo extreme sports park for slalom, i will let you know, (that's about 110kms north of sydney)it is about 60 metres of wide hot mix and no cars if you want to have a carve the road from the entry to king edward park down to south newcastle beach is closed to traffic, about 300 to 400 metres of wide pavement and no cars except for the occasional illegal surf checker or smoker, nice grade and big turnarounds to finish, just make sure you know who is down the bottom as they come back up fast in the hotted up speakers with wheels boyd

yeah lo down at cronulla can get them but it would be cheaper and easier to order from the states yourself as he doesnt keep them in stock and as such you'll have to wait a fair while for them to get in anyway.

you might be better off ordering them online. They will probably be cheaper, and you could perhaps combine your order with other stuff for other people. Joseph told me a set of Tracker racetracks retails for $70 (i think) at a shop in cronulla. It will in all likelihood be cheaper to order over the internet. Solidskate.com and longskate.com are good starting places.
