SA DH activity

Hey John,
Organised activity has been scarce since DHX this year. SAGRA has, however, been recently est. and are organising a race on 7 dec. (downhill race...long straight road, top speed 80 in a good wind, but a blast anyway)...otherwise the rest sounds good but is confirmed (ie more DH races...the most promising sounds like it'll be in March).
Otherwise there's a bunch of us that skate down hills all the time, be it full pace bombing, carvingcruising or sliding. I constantly meet new people who have managed to scratch together a DH set up or 2 and are bombing with all their soul. It's growing fast on an underground level, and it is also growing (but slower) in the organised dept.
Slalom: there are about 3 or 4 of us that own fibretec (ex Cem boards) slalom boards. I have a few square bottom cones, and we hardly ever get out to do slalom! (but I think I should try change that)
If you do come, get in touch, if you don't, you miss on a beautiful place! if you surf, even better!

It's cold in Boston- but toasty warm in SA
I'd like to do some skating in South Africa. Anyone know of any slalom or downhill activity there at the moment?

Well by all means then... GOOD LUCK at HOTHEELS Mike!
I'm using your tips on footdragging and working up to speed with them. I had a good session yesterday, comfortably braking at just under 40mph. Still getting my setup figured out, but think I'm close. I'm absolutely sure getting it wired will let me hit higher speeds on the curvy Santa Cruz mountain roads we've been practicing on. Thanks!

Hi SA guys, I'm a longskater from Paris, and I guess longskating on the hills of Cape Town should be great, with pretty nice sightseeing... Anyway, here is my question: as all of you must surf, do you have any infos, or websites, on the surf in Mauritius and Madagascar? I have info, but not that much. It's hard to find info on other spots than Tamarin (Mau) and the South (Mada). So, any help? Thanx.

Yeah Yeah cape town is sick as f**k got a massive road rash to show for it,(zip came undone on me leathers) what a great event minimal politics and a good vibe. To go to an event and for it to be so hard just to make the cut says something for the standard of the locals there but you do have the amazing asphalt everywhere. and the women oh my god how many beautiful girlies did you see there?
respect to all the locos Simon A, Kent, the bradburns etc etc, will bring as many wheels and trucks as i can next year, christmas in Capetown is spelt with DHX.
Love to dani and all the drivers

We used to skate Stellawood cemetary in all sorts of twisted ways. I was run over there, Lino made a midnight pitchblack 50-60kph run, Trevor ran Prospect road in peekhour traffic and won a game of chicken vs. a bus! (bus stopped, Trev veered off, thank God!)
If only we had actual longboards we'd probably all be dead now. Long live balls-out speed and adrenaline.
