The rock and roll was credited to Tim Marting, however Kevin Reed was doing them as well, both in Northern Cal.
Nobody knew that Ed Womble was doing the same trick at the same time at Sensation Basin (in their gnarly pool) in Gainesville Fla, calling it the Wom-pull.....

GI Joe, I'm gonna guess it was Darryl Miller back during 1979-1980. I could be wrong, but that's how my old/feeble memory works sometimes. LOL!

Dan, that should be fairly easy... your good friend, Mr. Kaelon was one of the two people taking those pics. We're talking HUGE chunks from the coping. We were amazed and sickened to witness such a tragedy. So, I suggested that photos be taken to document the damage. If you don't already have his e-mail addy, shoot me an e-mail, above, and I'll give it to you. I think he'll be rather stoked to see 'em on your site. BTW, nice site.
Take care.

Tom, check out this review from So Cal Skateparks' site:

VERY fun skatepark in my opinion. I can't wait to get out there again. I'm on the coast, but I like to travel to the Inland Empire to hit the pools, ditches, and skateparks.
Have fun!

Where is that again? I searched for Harada, CA, and Inland Empire, CA, and mapquest gave me nada.
I'm not from the area, but try to keep track of the scene.

Met up with Team Goon and Brad Edwards & Jesse Parker from Gravity to skate the new Harada skatepark in the Inland Empire. WOW! What a fun place to skate! If they had put the tile/coping in the keyhole, it would be Lakewood Skateworld all over again. Fun little snakerun, an egg bowl, and some lame too shallow bowl with pool coping/tiles. Other than the coping mistake, GREAT skatepark.
It's not open yet, but I'm stoked that we got to skate it. The usual bmx riders were there, literally destroying the pool coping. We even took pictures of them doing it. Sad to see that. I hope thwy won't allow bikes in there. What a shame.

Centerpointe Sk8park in Ottawa.
It took a long to time to get something like this in Ottawa. After the region creating some good, some bad and some absolutely horrible parks like most communities we fanally have something really good.
It has a couple of nice bowls with a linked spine from 9' to 6' and a pretty decent street section.
The guy on the front page is one of my team members and was to take home his new Pocket Pistol I brought back Morro Bay for him last week.

Today on the Washington DC area Fox news (about 7:30 am) was a live feed from the Arlington Skatepark. The park construction manager & Surfer, Jeff Marlow, was interviewed while skateboarding was going on behind him. Did anybody see it?
Friday, 10/8/04, there will be more media showing up at the park from 12 noon to 2 pm. Show up if you want to get your ugly mug on TV.
Saturday, 10/9/04, is the grand opening celebration starting at 9 am. I'm going to make a presentation to the county as a thanks for building us a park.
Next weekend is Bridge Day in WV. Haven't slalomed since last years Bridge Day. I'm going to get my a#$ kicked by a number of people but it will be fun.

Hey JoeI!, If you don't hear from Jeff for a while it because we beat him down pretty good Saturday morning. Freaking guy was always hanging out, trying to be one of the guys. We finally took a vote and agreed to let him in the gang, but since no one wanted to sex him in, we had to beat him in the gang. I'm sure he'll call you after his jaw heels. You'd be proud, he took his beating like a man and is now an offical member of the Coronado Clique. The only way out of the Clique is death.............
We waited untill Pineapple & his son left before commencing the beat-down. We're trying to steer kids away from gang life.

Thanks to whoever originally posted the info on the wood bowl in SF. When I read they were taking it out next weekend, I passed on Strawberry to skate it instead and I'm glad I did. I wish I'd known about it sooner.
Any Bay area skaters who are interested, this is the last week. Park at the garage at the corner of 5th and Mission near the 4th street end. The Center is a block up at the corner of 3RD and MIssioon. It's free to skate. I doubt there will ever be another chance to be a skater "performance artist" in a museum. The rest of the museum is hosting a skater inspired exhibit.
