You can see the bottom of Carmel from I25 if you look east shortly before the tramway exit headed north.

Kate's is probably the funnest ditch I ever skated.
With a tailwind is close to perfect.
Thanks for the tour back in October guys.

Posted a few pics up on that other site...

Is that the one that Carmel intersects with? Last time I was there it was full of rocks and stuff.

Nips, Naps
On 2/13/2007 GI Joe wrote in from United States  (65.19.nnn.nnn)

My brain just can't process it without actually meeting kate, so I think you should invite her to the race so we can ALL make the connection. Catnip is just another powerful herb, a connection my failing brain cells CAN make. Once someone gets hurt there we could call it Blue Cross Blue Shield. If PALMER wins we'll call it whatever he says we should.

Have you ever ridden the one just south of there that leads into the Balloon Fiesta Park? Easily shuttled and GNARLY surface! It drew blood just walking down to check it out.

No pushing required...
On 2/11/2007 The Marshall wrote in from United States  (71.33.nnn.nnn)

No pushing needed or allowed at Indian School or The Qualifier. Keep yer feet on the board where they belong and you won't end up like Lange. Well maybe not.

Twisted Winners
On 2/9/2007 TSR Headquarters wrote in from United States  (65.19.nnn.nnn)

That's a sick picture, and a good warning to the "Langer style" hell bent on winning type of racers. You can come and ride and have fun and go home with noodle legs and a sunburn, OR you can come and Push, Pump and POWER your way down the courses and go home with $$$$ and road rash. This guy was pushing on the walls, around the cones and everywhere he could get a foot down!

Surface Ratings:
Carmel Ditch - Cheese Grater
Indian School- Cats Tongue
Catnips Ditch - Cats Tongue
Bear Ditch - Belt Sander
Harper Ditch - Denim

On 1/25/2007 krpdesign wrote in from United States  (216.89.nnn.nnn)

I've never skated in a ditch, but they look perfect for the style of riding i like to do. anybody know of any in south brooklyn, or anywhere around nyc for that matter? i'm happy to trade info on some great hills if that'd help.

thanks in advance..

Hungry and Thirsty
On 1/22/2007 GI Joe wrote in from United States  (65.19.nnn.nnn)

Hungry Ditches don't favor any nationality, team affiliation or celebrity status.... they are omnivores waiting for any scrap that carelessly slips into their Jaws.

Tony Alva fed the Bear back in '77 proving that we had a great spot! Biker hit a Hole at Indian School in 2002 knocking him OUT plus a broken collar bone in 6 places proving that you only need your helmet once a year.

The rake finished ditches are NOT the ones you want to fall in, it's like getting worked by a blender. Langer fed Carmel Ditch enough Canadian bacon to cover all of you for at least a week!

ghetto banks
On 1/16/2007 nic wrote in from United States  (65.44.nnn.nnn)

me and my friends were skating at our high school during christmas break. and me being pretty much the only hardcore long boader/surf skater saw this dirt bank and was like man that would be tight to skate but its dirt! well up the walk way a little was some huge peices of 1/8 inch masonite being thrown out so i did what any skaters would do....... make my own bank so we made its a skated it for hours and even got bite in the head from my friend ( i thought he was off the bank he was going down and i was going up well his braces went to my temple area) then some stupid local street skaters showed up..... but it was worth it

we went back to skate it again but some painters piled the masonite all up and smashed it up so it was a once in a life time kinda thing
