Indian School Outlaw!
On 4/29/2008 Ricker wrote in from United States  (65.19.nnn.nnn)

Hey, I just wanted to say thanks to The Marshal for puttin on a good race this year! It went really smoothly. Everyone got two runs, (thank god), no cops, just a little water but that's just part of racing a ditch.

Glad I got to skate with the Sector9 crew. Thanks for coming out and sponsoring the event. It was a blast! Next year someone has to take out Brunson. Hopefully me.

Next up...DITCH SLAP!

san diego ditches
On 4/26/2008 Jacques wrote in from United States  (64.167.nnn.nnn)

The surf has gone flat, and i'm looking for some ditches to skate in the San Diego area. Could any one email me directions to some well known ones? I wouldn't ask you to give up your hidden spot. Im respectful, and have no problem pushing a broom or a shovel for a while to skate. I always leave a spot better than i found it. Thanks for your help. -Jacques jacquesberiau@gmail.com

3D grafitti?
On 4/24/2008 bl wrote in from United States  (143.120.nnn.nnn)

Not mine, but it's been there for a few months. I guess it's "suburban art" or "3D graffiti". Kinda weird, but looks better than spraypaint IMO.

Trolls Rule!

No hard feelings, it's a very cool hex and well done work of art. I'm just paranoid because I thought I heard the birds caw and the troll speak.

Harper Race
On 4/23/2008 Joe Lehm wrote in from United States  (65.19.nnn.nnn)

There is a change of venue for Friday mornings race at Harper Ditch. A Troll has Hexed the bridge where we raced last year. I'm not kidding, you'll be able to check it out for yourself. I think it will be fine for riding but not racing, so we're just moving down the ditch to the San Pedro bridge where there's a sweet roll in that will serve as a start ramp. Riders meeting at 9am.

This is a great shot of Chris Miller doing the look back while the whole city lies ahead of him. It really shows the drop and speed of Indian School.

Start Ramp for Bear
On 4/12/2008 GI Joe wrote in from United States  (65.19.nnn.nnn)

What are you crazy?? Isn't it big enough as it is? I think David Angelus has it, can you ask him about it? I hate that thing, scares the hell out of me. I vote for the tradtional start with a limited run in. As Fluitt once said
"it's a skate race not a track meet". The other problem with the start ramp is that it makes it hard to push down the wall....

Ditch Slap update
On 4/10/2008 TimeShip Headquarters wrote in from United States  (65.19.nnn.nnn)

Thanks to Landyachtz, Bear Trucks, Dregs, Pressure Drop and Riviera for stepping up as title sponsors! The Product Sponsors list is HUGE and will be posted today, looks like everyone will go home with prizes! Also thanks to everyone that has paid their entry fees, remember that it's $100 for any 3 races and the Shuttle pass.

If you really think you have it in you to do all 5 races then you'll need $25 for each additional race. This is why we put the Bear toward the end...so you can chicken out and say you're too tired (whine) or don't have any more money. Just plan to win some earlier in the week! The Crosstown race on Sunday morning is free so you can only say that you're too tired or hung over. It worked for Mercado last year, but not this time buddy.

Racers will receive a ‘Ditch Directory’ to assist in finding the venues. The TSR crew will be available Weds afternoon and evening at the Crosslands Hotel to check in registered riders and give them their racer packets stuffed with info and goodies. TSR Headquarters mobile phone # is 505-920-5448 if you need assistance upon arrival.

Indian School Outlaw Course
On 4/8/2008 The Marshall wrote in from United States  (71.222.nnn.nnn)

Gents;;

The course is marked in purple triangles. Be prepared to turn.

There are 5 sets of cones in the course that are called "wallrides". They are below the footbridge. They are two cones set anywhere from 75 feet to 10 feet apart on the same wall. The racer must make it over both cones. They are marked with an arrow after the first cone.

If you make it out before practice starts on Friday morning at 07:00 :), make sure you take those cones into account. They are not obvious until you look for them. They start on the left wall (south) after the second culvert past the foot bridge. They end on the left wall right before the bridge at Chelwood Park bridge.

Yes - I know that is 3 set on the south wall and 2 sets on the north; I don't know if this helps or hurts goofies or regulars. It is the course, deal with it.

The last cone before the Tramway bridge is deeper than usual. Welcome to kink land.

The first cone after the foot bridge is closer than usual to the bridge. Welcome to Mohawk land if you come up too soon.

See you on raceday if not sooner. It is on Boyz.

We made a little video today at Rio Bravo. I think it's pretty unique because you get to see the skater (me) from the front. Most all of the ditch videos I've seen have been from the back.

Indian School detup?
On 3/9/2008 MarkKovachi wrote in from United States  (74.244.nnn.nnn)

What is the typical/recommended setup (WB, trucks, wedge/degrees...) for Indian school? I'm guessing I do not want to run my GS Axe III w/ Radikal-F/Splits-R.

How bout my Landy Drop Wedge?

If not this year the Indian School Jam is on my bucket list :)
