Where to Live?

1)Hailey ID. (Full Pipe, 14 foot walls, Snow in the winter).
2)Orcas Island, WA (nothing but a good park, boring otherwise)
3)Lincoln City, OR (The coast is going off the hook. LC 2 has a roof and cradle, skate anytime, Reedsport, a few miles south, has a funnel tunnel. About 2 hours from Mt. Hood also.)

Or just live in a Motor Home and travel...

The issue is almost ready for press...we are at 17,500...

Look for a KILLER free Concrete Wave/Roundwall calendar - 12,000 will be floating around out there at your favorite skateshop...

they are homeschooled, slalom sk8boarders and can choose whatever they like to read (if their mom has cash, she'll buy it for 'em) it was the six yr. old who chose your book

many happy pumps!

Where NOT to live
On 10/22/2003 Rose Bernfeld wrote in from (68.111.nnn.nnn)

1st thing's 1st, you don't want to separate yourself from skating in any way. Solution? Move somewhere where skating is accepted and influenced.
Now I was raised in the South, did time in Texas and now reside in So.CA. Oceanside to be exact. And I must say that this place is a mecca. Skateboarding has a fair chance here but if you're into stepping it up a notch higher...try Oregon. Just bring your raincoat and jacket. Those won't be need down here.

Where to Live
On 10/22/2003 Haim wrote in from (80.230.nnn.nnn)

I'd go for the Portland area or Phoenix. Phoenix has some great public concrete parks. Now if we take the weather factor into place, the answer starts to change. Losing too many skating days to rain or heat that'll cook your wheels can be pretty frustrating.

Seattle!!

Moved away from there 8 years ago before all this revitalized. I'm trying to work a deal at work on an account in Portland. At least it will get me out there every few months!
The parental units still live out in that area. There is an excuse to get out that way.

WHERE TO LIVE?
On 10/21/2003 PALMER wrote in from (152.163.nnn.nnn)

Tough question. f#@!ing Albuquerque of course. In the house with the egg pool by some really great ditches. Not too far from the skateparks and the vert ramp. 30 mins away from the Sandia Mountians and some really sick downhill. Once I get the keg fridge set up you all fools will never see me again.

You should have been in Boulder county last weekend... we had record breaking temps both days! Killer skating weather, and everyone was out enjoying the parks.

Travel...
On 10/20/2003 That 70's Skater wrote in from (210.86.nnn.nnn)

Yeah, Summer is just peaking it's nose around the corner here in Kiwiville. Some cool parks and bowls, 99% of which are free, free/cheap medical care, no one to sue you and a great exchange rate (2:1 pretty much) must make it pretty damn attractive huh??? Not to mention the surf and other attractions. Oh yeah, and an Old School Jam coming up in December...

Anyone have any travel plans?

On 10/18/2003 Pierre Gravel wrote in from (24.200.nnn.nnn)

You probably know this but you can have an automatic redirection from the old domain name to the new one (with a mention in the old page in case some browsers can't redirect). That way you won't lose visitors.

website help
On 10/18/2003 Haim wrote in from (80.230.nnn.nnn)

As for publicizing the change of the web site address, I suggest setting up a simple page at the old address that informs visitors of the change with a link to it. Add some comment about updating their bookmarks too. Leaving a dead link often leads to losing less persistent visitors. That would be a shame, since what you're doing is so great and the more people who catch this wave the better.
