TRU,
There are some decent ramps at the Nowhere Skatepark down in Preston at the Hormuth Arena across from Cambridge Kips Gymnastics Club. 1/4s, some big 1/2s. Check them out. 2 bucks gets you in the door.
Cheers,
Paul

To all my friends in Ottawa:
Now you have a use for those white hankies you wave at your home games - you can use them to capture your tears!!!
Last nights game was the 4th time the Leafs have removed the Sens from the Stanley Cup - when will Ottawa learn.
Oh well - you still have all our lousy politicans living in your city.
All the best,
Rob

Congrats Civ...
I'll be rooting for Toronto against Philly. I can hardly wait to see a Leafs-Habs division final. Not even the Oka police will be able to stop the rukus if that happens!!
Email me when you get a chance...

Well, I likely ended up around 20th. My qualifying pretty much on my own had me seeded 17th. I pulled out of the gate to hard and pulled my back foot off the board and couldn't even hit the 1st cone so I DQ.
I then had to make up 1.5 seconds and it wasn't going to happen. I won the secong heat but I'm sure not by much.
Anyway the racing was great all the way thru. It's a great event and the hospitality here is second to none. So for any of you Canucks that want an experience this is it.
C-Ya'll in a couple of days.

hey guys, good news - we found claude's razor hours before he left to sk8 for Canada 'gainst those 'mericans @ Luna so that means two things 1) he shaved, so that's good for the time thing 2) i don't have to suspect any possible foul play during slalom/party week-ends
and hey ian, hopefully i won't be a 'sideliner' for too much longer (i'm kinda ridin' my new kebbek) we'll be at the Southparc Hot Shop Comp. April 25 Hope to see everyone there, mb p.s. we'll post Claude's results from Luna as soon as they come in

Easter Weekend

A great big thanks to the Ottawa Sk8park for getting the slalom weekend under way. That was an awesome set of courses and great that it could span two provinces in three days.
I think everyone agreed that if the fastest racers of the weekend were judged on how they started and how they raced by the end of the three days, Chris and Alex where undoubtedly the weekend's winners. Both of those guys practically cut their race times by a third!
I need a rematch with JF and I'm sure Jim needs a rematch with me, but it was the two old fart pros that really knocked the rest of us around. The final heat had a combined age of almost a hundred years old!! Civ in qualifying had em against the ropes, but wisdom prevailed.
Thanks to Mary Beth, Ginette, Heather, and all the other sideliners who had to deal with Rideau River wind and Big O sunburn!
Toronto-Hamilton crew....? You getting a weekend ready or what?

Looking for old-schoolers in the Cambridge/Kitchener/Waterloo/Guelph (Ontario)area to get together and build a half-pipe. Alternatively looking for a ramp which is currently built to session with other old-schoolers. Post a message if interested.
Later.

Knowing that you filmed a lot of the afternoon race - when can expect to gain access to the video that was shot.
I can't wait to see the angles captured with you running the course with us.
If anyone is coming down to Toronto - give me a shout and we can arrange a session.

To say that i had fun this weekend would be a gross understatement. That was just about the most fun Ive ever had on a skateboard. I couldnt believe how tight the competition really was. The duals were so intense, a couple favorites were against Jim Z on saturday, Claude every time we got to race, Pierre on Monday for the semi...too close too call, you won it fair the second run, and my bombing run with JF...someone burn that footage.
Alex and Chris, you guys looked great this weekend. I am seriously scared about racing against you two in a year from now.
Thanks you so much MB and Claude for working so hard to set this all up and hosting us at you park. I had fun skating there and took home a little reminder of my time there, made sleeping a little uncomfortable.
Pierre, thank you for taking care of things in Montreal, I look forward to many duels with you in the future.
I cant wait for Canada Day......we can race in shorts instead of touques.

Hey Claude/MB:
Thanks for a great day of running cones - could have been warmer, but not complaining
J.F. & Jim thanks for the head-to-head competition.
The ride home was again fast (Skatepark to front door 3 hours/25 minutes) and my son was happy to have me home to help search for the Easter Eggs the Bunny brought.
Great start to the season and I will be ready to host everyone in Toronto later in the season.
Hope everyone had a great day on Monday, unfortunately I am at work!!!!
All the best,
Rob
P.S. Civ tell Shasta that her Sugar Daddy says "HI" - LOL
