Here's a vid of the local slalom crew:

This one is a slalom run by Rich, with sick front and rear truck camera angles:

First half of this one is some speedboarding in a Quebec suburb with part of the Kebbek Racing Team and then a slalom session with the Kebbek guys and the local crew:

They were all done by a friend and a local longboarder called Boris.

Secret Weapon
On 6/22/2005 Mig wrote in from Canada  (206.162.nnn.nnn)

Kash-- Training is for athletes! I'm just an old 300# fat bastard who's having the time of his life! I'm having so much fun it should be illegal! :) I'm not expecting to kick anybody's ass. I'll be happy with finishing my runs and meeting new friends. As a matter of fact, if I can handle the start ramps that will be an accomplishment in itself! :)

And the secret weapon thing was just a joke with Blair... Pocket Pistol DP Hardcore, MMW RTX/S Team trucks, Manx or 3dm wheels, Bones or Rocket bearings... And if Pierre can get his new concave model to me in time, that's what I'll use...

2nd Annual Dovercourt Open
On 6/15/2005 Claude Regnier wrote in from Canada  (64.230.nnn.nnn)

Mb & I measured the road distance today and it's a steady slope. The course will run right around 500' long as to leave plenty of room for foot braking. This course will need a few 6' to pick up some speed then turn into a pumpfest from wider to narrower. No braking till you hit the tape.

The race on Canada Day will run from 9 - 3 (road closure 8 - 3)
and on July 2 from 10 - 2 (road closure 9 - 2)

Day 1 will something like last year short & sweet. If we are on the ball I would like to run a TS & Hybrid on the 1st.

We should not have any problem pullint it off as there won't be that many. We will likely run an A & B.

I ordered a Trackmate and we will figure out if were using tapeswitches or if Ian gets the eyes from last year.

Shhhhht! Blair, the Ceramics will be my secret weapon in Ottawa... ;)

It was a great session! But s#@!, it was so hot!?! I usually slalom in complete gear (pads, helmet, gloves) but on that day it was intolerable!

Any session with Pierre and JF is great. Let it be slalom, longboard or transition, you're guaranteed of a good time. And I got to meet Montoya (Cojones!) who is a great guy.

Can't wait to go to Ottawa and meet plenty of coneheads. :)

Yeah, Kitchener has a few ditches, the transistions are a little harsh, but we used to skate them all the time when we were kids. They will start to dry up with the hot weather.

Belmont and Highland behind the mall runs for about three blocks...

Check it out.

Cheers,

Paul

Colorado Cup
On 6/12/2005 Cknuck wrote in from United States  (24.8.nnn.nnn)

Hey guys thanks for the props. Took a 5th to day after qualifying in 4th.

Jason Mitchell won it again but Gary Fluitt went down really hard at the line. Barker came back hard after qualifying 5th and edged Pirniak for the 3rd.

What a great weekend of racing. The courses were the best. Pavement prtettyt close to perfect and the weather, well just wait long enough and it opens up a window for you.

The best race crew here and the folks here are also great. Many of you should put this event on your wish list.

See you all on Canada Day.
