Board Wall Hanging

I'm not really sure where to post this but misc equipment seems appropriate.
Does anyone have any good ideas for hanging decks on a wall?
I was thinking about running a 2" x 1" runner accros the wall and using small pegs to hang the decks from.
(It will be decks only that are being hung up)
Anyone else have ang other ideas?

My youngest son and I started the kit tonight... got the first 3 layers of veneer pressed up and under vacume.
I was surprized at how well the little vacume pump and bag work... seems to put plenty of pressure on project.
I'll post up some pics tonight or tomorrow... so far so good... I am thinking of ways to modify this set up... I'll try it with some fiberglass at some point...

It's hard to show in a pic, but this is a box with another box that has rounded shapes that goes a little over half way up, like a partial sleeve. Has nice palmtrees and a skater on it.
I have sold several items on ebay where the people buying it were more interested in the packaging than what was in the box!
As a seller myself, I guess I get excited over good packing and over the top boxes! HR

Hugh. The boxes my Bulldog stuff comes in are cool too! Murf heads graphic on every box. Its a small thing (ideal for the misc equipment forum i'm sure) but its soooo professional when manus ship in dedicated carboard boxes. I had one collector ask for the box...kinda like when I was a kid and I always got the shoebox when I got new shoes...
blimey, did I get excited overcardboard boxes?...er I better go now...

The box they shipped in is probably the coolest cardboard box I've ever seen... and it comes with some stickers too (stickers are always a big thing to me) HR

I was very curious aobout these kits when I first heard of them a few weeks back... mostly for what I might be able to learn from them, but also becuase I dig new things!
I am now in possession of two of their build you own skateboard kits... one short and one longboard.
I am going to chronicle the building process on my site and go over the step by step stuff.
A few things have impressed me so far:
*The kits arrived very quickly and were packaged very well
*They are more complete than I would have guessed that they would have been... glue, roller, sandpaper, rasp, rubber gloves, etc...
*The vacume bag is pretty heavy duty and should be capable of multiple projects
I plan on doing this as a father/son or father/daughter project (maybe both, I have 2 of each kind... kids that is)
Much more to come... HR

If you really want to protect that deck I can send you some rubber backed washers that I've sent to a few skaters who use them on their high end slalom decks. Works with dome head bolts, and I know Gravity www.gravityboard.com do longer sizes in bags.

They mean putting 3 small holes in the tail. They do Nose bones too.
Another tip is to put four small domehead screws (Not bolts) at the four corners of the deck on the top side so that when the board turns over the top surface is protected a bit. We used to that years ago when buying a deck was not an option...we had to wait for our birthdays!

I use 10/24 thread bolts of length needed. To protect the board between the bolt and the top of the deck I use a white nylon washer (#10?) and all hardware is stainless steel purchased at local marine hardawre store.
Now if it`s a pool/park deck, you might want to have countersunk bolts. That`s usually the standard fare. These can be bought at any skate shop.
If you need help with hardware, ie; marine stainless steel, I will gladly get you some at cost.

Sorry for the double post, but the Trucks forum seems to have switched gears...
Got an old school deck that I want to try to keep in good condition and was thinking about trying some non-countersink nuts 'n' bolts. Is there any setup people have found that work nicely? Will I need to get some thin washers for underneath? Also, looking into tail guards and was wondering how one measures for them. How much work is needed for installation, and does it put a lot of holes in the tail?

Thanks for the info, Hugh. These probably wouldn't look bad mounted on top of drop-throughs, which I ride almost exclusively around the city now. In that position they could even be turned on while riding !

I would be intersted in some of these. But isn't that one of those expensive battery types for calculators, etc. ? I got victimized once by a cordless baby monitor that took weird batteries, it literally would have cost $20 a week to feed the thing with batteries. Details on the battery type, cost ??? Rechargeable would be the Sh!t, maybe that's what I'm looking at, too bad you can't hook up the charger without removing ?

Just got a set of these lighted risers in... pretty cool... I have some pics up for now (better illumination ones coming as soon as I can get my camera to make them look right)

Wow. I highly doubt that any of the people from that site have so much as seen some of the devices in person much less tried them.
They list several "balance board" devices which are a great way to train for many board sports. They're challenging and with several (Indo boards) you can work up to extremely advanced tricks.
They list the Tierney Rides and BMW Streetcarver as companies 'trying to rip them off' Well I'm sorry to say that the Tierney and BMW are some of the most original boards I have ever seen. I have never ridden a BMW but I have heard very positive reviews about them, and the Tierney is the best street board I have ever ridden.

I've been reading that site on and off for the past few months. At first I was really bummed on it because they seem to bash anything that isn't a popsicle stick with 101 hardness wheels. Not really great for skateboard innovation. Then the two guys who run my local shop told me that Flowbord owns the site and it's a big joke they are blowing up for some trade show coming up. I don't know - these guys pulled my leg before. So, take it all with a grain of salt I say.
