Deerhorn/Good Clinic
On 11/29/2007 Kludy Jr. wrote in from United States  (66.74.nnn.nnn)

Whats up pops!? Deerhorn Sunday huh ill be at ur house at 5:30am, ull at least have a driver!!!

I think a good clinic is a great idea, like Isabelle was saying there are alot of people getting into speedboarding (my little bro and his friends to name a few) and it would be great if they could be taught what was up by some people who know what is up. Plus some of us who have been speedboarding for a little while can not only help out, but will probably learn some good techniques them selfs. I know I would love to learn some new stuff, safety, speed, drafting, stopping, passing, sliding, drifting, ect... I dont have much time to organize one myself but if someone else did i sure would come to help with a whole bunch of people that want nothing more then to learn how to ride!

kids high on SPEEDboarding.....hehehe
who's interested in getting vital instruction while having a blast teaching/supervising kids learn safe speedboarding techniques. group clinics are graet fun not only for the seasoned veterans but especially for the newbie/shy beginners. food 4 thought. i know that adam, rick and myself can't be the only ones with children needing/wanting the extreme rush that we live by. food 4 thought and i'm always down for a good clinic.

No worries just tell him to come up and introduce himself and I would be happy to maybe help him if I can.
Yah that turn will need some skills in slowing down just before you hit it but more important is to know how to hit the hay just right if you dont make it. I will be there camping friday night, camp site #3.
I feel good and am coming to race real hard for the 1st time in a year, Stoked again !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

if have a moment, please stoked out one great young boy named kirby cox my giving him some pointers. he's such a ripping skater, role model and just a great person, but he's never done the harder course. that last turn needs good set-up skills and i know he'd so appriciate tips from a top pro to help stoke his fire.
HAVE A BLAST. when my life gets more on-track, i hope to join the speedboard competitions too.............but for now, i'm just a "standup cali dreamer" PEACE!

Hey Rick,
I just wanted to let you know that since I've met you and listened to all your crazy stories throughout all your experiences, with that big smile you always have when you tell them, everything you shared with all the youngsters around you, you've been an exemple and a symbol to me... more than any other rider I have met, and I respect and admire A LOT of people in this community...
It sucks all the terrible things in life happened all the time to the best ones.
Whatever you decide to do with your skateboard, I hope we'll still see you around with a beer and a smile, talking and sharing your experiences with everyone like you always do :)
Stand-up and You definitly rule man !!!

Hope to see around soon!

Racing fast
On 11/8/2007 Kludy wrote in from United States  (68.8.nnn.nnn)

Thank You isabelle, I guess because this is my site I can share as I please so here goes.
In my wildest dreams I never thought I would be without sandy, even when I had dreams of her with another guy ! My race season has always been from March to Oct. , Have broken stuff and messed myself up good during race season and have always healed before the next season. Have retiered twice !
This is like that just its my heart that is broken now and today I surfed a hill right outside my new office and it was good !
The L.A. Races have always been fun to get to see my freinds and I miss that.
Crasy how life and God will give me a new out look on things. Tomorrow a will bring my leathers to this hill and get ready for the next L.A. Race.
If I like it or not I love my skateboard and I love speed on it !
My life is not full at all but Racing keeps me alive and live I shall do !
Dont know or care who looks at my post but it sure makes me feel better!
Thru. the years I have found a family here and the Brazil hill, well I just wanted to bomb it and show the great side of Americans, dont know if I did that but the riders there where very cool to me and we did have a great time. Love all who is brave egought to go big like that.
So if you people are good with this I will be me and share as I feel when I feel it !

being board RULES
On 11/6/2007 isabelle wrote in from United States  (209.66.nnn.nnn)

kludy...i too have been through so much in my 46 years of living.....25 years in 2 marriages.....starting over is so imtimidating, but EVERY aspect in skateboarding helps me live life better whether it be standup, ditches, slalom, pools, vert.....just the feel of being "board" has saved me from self-destruction and since i am a single parent of 2 teenagers, that was not and can never be an option.
kludy, your skating has always shown your strength and it's helping keep you on track in life is why skating rules and we all know you do too!

Quest for speed
On 11/2/2007 Kludy wrote in from United States  (68.8.nnn.nnn)

My Quest for speed came at at eary age , maybe 8 and now I am 45. Very confussed to what next. As anything in life after you have been there done that do you keep going? I remember cleary the 1st time I did 50 mph as 60 as 70mph. As I get content to moveon with other things I get a son saying dad , I want to race and again I am back in it !
A new freind that does not really know me saw my pictures and made the statement that I must have been something that flys in another life because it looked as if there was no efort in what I did.
How and when does one call it ? Dont know but I do know that speed on a skateboard is something that is pure and raw and very real as life sometimes is not !

Welcome back
On 10/28/2007 mckendry wrote in from United States  (71.208.nnn.nnn)

Rick, Glad to see you had a great time. I'm already looking forward to you drafting and passing me again on Rist next year. I owe you one good run down that monster. I'm glad you got to see both hills along with Krimes, that gives credibility to Rist. I believe you called it the Mavericks of Downhill and corrected yourself calling Jaws. I'm getting chills thinking about the chicane, and Mustangs, and 70+++ wow what a time we had. Maybe the WR event on Rist next year should be called "Mavericks of Downhill" copyright 07 mckendry

Hope your all safe from the fires

Brazil
On 10/26/2007 Kludy wrote in from United States  (68.8.nnn.nnn)

O.K. we get there and and start to party. The young guns where excited, they all had blood in there eyes ! We get to the hill and it was insane to dope in after the top it was like an elavater shaft. The world record was done right , they did it with time trials and seemed to be perfect but they for some reson could not get Meetballs or strikers time. That was a bust ! No time to get lots of rides in and had to wait for over one hour before other ride down the hill. Its funny but safty was the thing that took so long to make sure the riders could handel the road and it did not mater. The best where crashing and as Gary Hardwick would say , every run is a roll of the dice and ture to him it bloody well was. The racing had no room to pass but passed where made.
Rider where crashing real hard in the straghts, never seen that before.
The hill was 70 mph with the best guys, no more !
The riders in brazil would crash , not just on this hill as I saw other races that one guy would fall and take the other guy out and they would just get up and walk away like no one messed up. I was real impressed with how they never ever got mad at each other. There sprit to ride and bomb hills where so strong. We could learn from them, as that was the fastest crasiest race hill in the world , no dout !
The reason they race like they do is that is is life or death every time they ride with cars, WE ARE SPOLLED !
COLORADO WAS FASTER BUT THAT HILL WAS FOR REAL IN YOUR FACE ALL THE WAY DOWN. i AM STILL HIGH FROM MY FREERIDE ON THAT MONSTER !
STOKED TO GET TO GO AND MEET THE BRAVEST GUYS I HAVE EVER MEET !
Balls to the wall has new meaning to me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
