you rob, just got the MRI of my ankle today, the radiologist said it looks like shrapnel wounds she's seen before. ouch. Not sure if I can race or not, but I'll be up at Lookout to chill, let me know when the sessions are gong down, I can shuttle for you guys, and I might take one or two runs, plus I can show the crew all the rad hills I have stashed around here. tradin' bearings for pills isn't a fair trade. f#@!in a.

A quick note from Brunson's house. Katie and I are traveling together after leaving Maytum in Cali to take care of business. So we raced the Cali Outlaw Sunday and had a great time. Lots of fun action and I hit a camera man for the second time. The guy was hanging on the inside of a right turn and I had my wheels on the line. My "hands forward tuck" my right forearm clipped his forehead and I guess knocked him out for a spell. I didn't mean to clip him and felt bad until I heard he was ok and then wondered why he didn't use the zoom. So Katie and I bugged out for Tuscon and Mt. Lemmon. We arrived late and got 2 hours of sleep before having to load up the Uhaul for 22 miles of pleasure. Mt Lemmon is a must and I will never forget trying to tuck for more than 30mins. We got into Brunson's last night and caught a nightcap with JimZ and Schnitz, caught a nap before riding today with the New Mexico kids on Sandia. I think there were 20 of us bombing Sandia. I gotta wrap this up and want to thank eeeerbody so far who has helped with the journey. Jimmy Flindt and his Mom who put us up and fed us while in Cali, thank you very much. The rides up GMR and Mercado (Muffins) for the laughs and hauling us up the hill. Zak gave Katie and I his car to make the rest of the trip, very cool. Rolf, Andreas and Brody in Tuscon for showing me a beautiful place on Earth. Now we are chilling in Madrid getting laced up for Ditch Slap and 4 days of sunscreen. Word on the street is there's a big race coming up in Colorado next week. Go to RADO! More updates to come. I don't have time to get into the gory details of this trip yet and there's still miles to go. Time to go tell stories by the fire and laugh. www.skuntechboards.com

Josh should tell ya bout it but when I got it it was drilled for Maguns. I had Radikal's on it and it had to sit on risers. It needs low trucks, Kahalani's maybe or Gullwings? So the the deck is big and long and it's kinda turd shaped. The board is fun to ride and I think I road it in Europe? Kinda wierd ride though cause the foam is so rigid. Ya feel the bumps a bit. The SkunkTechBoard is so different. The honeycomb and resin could provide dampening...? I'm out there not only to ride but learn about the STB. The construction is beautiful, even the cop thought it was a "nice looking board". I'll see ya this weekend and you can take it for a run. Gotta pack

OK Rob, Jody and Jim Z have already started the engine, and it's revvin'!! When can you get here? You had a Skate School brochure in your hand WHERE? Talkin' us up and s#@!? Nice! Jimmy is less certain about making it, K-Rimes is out, Cliff Coleman is in! Mercado is one set of shoes that we DON'T need to fill. Besides, we'll have Hoodie in the mix, and Brunson just loves to Razz those Canadians!!

"You shoulda saw the hill we use to ride as kids" and then ya have to humor some old biker about how you never heard of "clay wheels". Really stoked for this trip with Zak and Katie. Suppose we're gonna mess with some folks with this crew. I'm just getting done testing the SkunkTechBoard for it's first runs around Vail. Happy to say I got pulled over on Battle Mountain. One of those conversations were the cop (Sheriff) was absolutely right about everything. I just put this sick carbon board together and the last thing I wanted was to lose a one of a kind, handmade board before this trip. He said I could get 2 tickets; impeding a motorway and speeding. (50 in a 30). The board is fricken cool. This is the first board ever made by STB and I was happy to see it not only werks but feels bitchn. I'm going to meet with Kerry @ STB headquarters and get all the gooey material details but it's aluminum honeycomb and carbon. This thing complete is lighter than some decks! I can't wait to see what comes next when Kerry makes boards available. The STB is 42.25L 10.25W
The carbon board you asked about Max was made by Josh Weisfeld (sorry if I screwed up the spelling Josh) I couldn't give it up because it's a cherished gift. He is making boards from the last time we spoke so Josh if your out there...sup? His board is a foam core and I think vacuum bagged? Surfboard construction. That board is fun cause it's big and light. 41.5L 11W The Dregs was my first speedboard and I dropped it after talking to Gary Hardwick. 39L ?W Great concave on that deck and some great times. I had a couple Landy's and this was an early one. A short heavy dropthru that I spent a lotta time on in 2004. I still like setting this lil "tank" up once and a while. 38.5L flat W? The Never Summer is a beast and the only thing cool was one of the most embarrassing things about it...the Iron Cross. Just heavy and long. This was a board I had to ride and should only say, they make snowboards. 44L 10W There's a Chicago in there and it was kinda fun. But it's getting flexy now it is just a bit small for me. The first StreetMissile board is the 05 and Ian at Kebbek made that one. Love that board and it has always been my go to. Just a slight camber and thing fit like a glove. 42.5L 8.75W. The following model the 06 with the Globe graphic was a bit flexy for DH. 42.75L 8.75W That's Andy from the BlackCat Skateshop in Charlottesville Virginia looking for the hardware.
Liam GET OVER HERE! Ditchslap!!! wow I mean really wow

Thats funny about "Abec 11, no such thing". The local shops say "Randals, never heard of em" so I get the dude to hand down a Sector 9 off the rack. This is before they came with stock Gullwings. "Those are 180-50's/R11, not Randals" Here's a good one; "Downhill Skateboarding, why would you want to do that? Roads are rough, the wheels aren't made for pavemnet, only sidewalks" Or this classic one "Sector 9 doesn't have a race team and where would they race" And this one was good, argument insued which led me too being kicked out of big skate store, "Sector 9 never made a board called the Kamikaze only the Komi, get your boards straight" And then when I came back in with my EVO, it was "How can you ride that in a pool?"

The crazy truck configurations and random wheels are just to test sizes of different set ups. The complete is lighter than some decks. More to come...

It's still pretty cold in NY and I'm really looking downhill to warming up on the adventure next week to the Cali race and then to Mt.Lemmon to pop my cherry in AZ. Ditch Slap is just around the corner and I know most people by now know there way to the top of Indian School. I had a Skate School brochure in my hand this morning talking Timeship up @ a shop in Rochester. JOE LEHM! My offer still stands and with Mercado dropping out I'm not sure what your needs for drivers will be??? let me know. MERCADO!! Dropped out!! damn!! Sorry to hear that news but can't wait to see ya on the hill. I've been talking to folks out here not only about Timeship but looking for hills and that entails? entales? talking to morons about roads and directions and cops and all kinds of BS. You know the best hills I've found in life (some) have been from asking bike shops and those guys SUCK! Almost as bad as dealing with the local hero at a skateshop. "Dude, bearings only go to 9, there's no such thing as Abec 11." Ever get that one?? Anyway the intraweb is always the way to show people ditches and hills and vids AND...I was showing off Mercado's vid from youtube last night. FNing hilarious! eeeerbody alwways says "holy s#@!" when you get close to that van or truck??? just another day. Can't wait to get back to say wut up. Oh yeah! LOOKOUT!!!

Hey buddy! It's been a little more than a week that I got to SD. So far, colorado is still #1 so far on my trip. But I've only been speedbording 2 days so far here, that was in the LA/San Bernandino area. There will be some more next week. As of now, I'm taking diving lessons so I can go see the big fishies deep down there.
I still have no fixed plans on where my trip is headin. Sometimes thinking that money is kinda slowly leeking out and that I'll eventually have to replenish the pot of gold that takes me around on this road trip. Reading that earlyer post showing the great american road trip was kinda interesting but money shortage kinda pushes me to go up de pacific coast to get back to canada, with some intetion to work in BC. Writing this, it just came to my mind that so far, on this trip, things came up as I would advance on my journey and that I met real nice folks on the way.
So here I am thinking that I should try to get on the internet a little more in a matter of asking out stuff such as is somebody could get me some work for replenishing my wallet or asking if any body has a boat or an airplane to take my trip off the land and most of all, show me your local hills!
So as a wrote, I figured I would try to earn some money to extend up to end of april in Cali, (by the way where is Mt Lemmon?) and I'd have to get this trip to be as nice as possible. Thanx to Rob and Justin for swoin me around Colorado!!

I'm on the run in upstate NY and training for Munnsville, trying to get use to the air. Loveland Pass might be open to snow and bombing. You can hike a short distance to a leftover kicker and spend the afternoon drinking and hucking, then skate the road. Best to bring light beer it's easier to carry. So if ya need a floor or any info about camping or getting to my place after BB no problem. I won't be back in Rado til the 18th or so.

It is DUMPING up here! One of the bigger snowfalls of this year no doubt, and my back is blowed up! I took a straight air off Genghis Kahn and landed perfect, (serious, sticking the landing was the point!) but riding away clean wasn't in the cards. I have a bad disc in my back and from time to time it sends me into a cycle of bed ridden pain lasting for days. So now it's DUMPING and I can't ride! How do you make those stupid computer frowns?? :( (stupid). Say anywho I'm filing an unemployment claim and have been on hold for 2 hours. This will be the money I get from the FEDS to support my skate journey for the next month. Worst sponsor ever by the way, hold for 2 hours...So I've been eating Percocet's and bitching about not riding but I've also thought about the guys/girls who have been f#@!ed up beyond just a couple weeks in bed. I don't want to get into too many names because its far to personal. There have been many sad stories and injuries with the recent popularity of our "sport". The law of averages. Please keep in mind some kids are on the couch right now and might not be able to skate this summer. I again know there's a bigger picture here with some folks who will never skate again. If you know somebody who is hurt or out of commission for the day, week or season...give em a call or stop by. They could use a visit or smile and you never know what kinda cool pills they have!!! I'm in NY for a few days next week then come back to hit the road. Quite an interesting carload. Maytum and I take off for the BU Outlaw then load up Skatey Katie for the Lemmon to DitchSlap onto 'Rado. Really stoked the kids want me to go with, they could be just looking to bury me in the desert. I'm gonna need lots of pills. Start making reservations for my floor during "Rado week after DitchSlap.
