Penis Power
On 6/9/2009 me wrote in from United States  (67.174.nnn.nnn)

Justin, You know I love Bill Hicks and large black women talking about thier va j j's is alright by me BUT...Bill was and is still a pioneer and I feel too small and very dirty for pulling his clip. Anyone who is not familiar with Bill Hicks please go out and find Arizona Bay, Dangerous or Relentless and anything with his name on it and memorize it.

Bill is missed everyday. The Penis Power clip I would have left up but it was apackage deal. I can only imagine Dubois surfing while inhaling a sharpie. I have only ever pulled 2 posts, MF Callahan and DT. Those clips don't offend me as much as guys who wear thier collars turned up. Everybody has something that makes em cringe.

I just know that anytime you try to type profanity on this site it is edited so I had to take action.
Where do we skate this weekend?

blowing our cover
On 6/7/2009 McKendry wrote in from United States  (67.174.nnn.nnn)

So I had this post up here that mentioned where we were riding and photos of who was there and about helicopters chasing us. I wonder if the chopper pilot narct us out and the state trooper was onto us but at the wrong hill? I'm really stoked to have ridden with you guys this weekend and the 2 Passes we road were amazing. Cottonwood has so many cool aspects. I think it has the best parts of all your favourite hills on one beautiful hill. And Hoosier is just nuts! Hairpins that tighten while your in em. So no cool photos of who was there and who was fast and who crashed. Nine riders, the most speedboarders I've ever ridden with in Rado. All but 2 of us crashed and everybody went home with a smile that hurt. Instead of the DH photos here's some pix of a cougar that attacked a bighorn. The two fell to there death. You can still see the fur in the cats mouth.

Skate stories to come but now we have to protect the hills and the riders confidentiallity.

Don't come to Rado!
On 5/31/2009 McKendry wrote in from United States  (67.176.nnn.nnn)

I couldn't decide where to go today...Lookout? Loveland, Hoosier, Moneument? Really stoked on Cottonwood Pass. I got down to Buena Vista about 10 AM and got 2 runs in before it started to snain. (snow/rain) I went and had a burger at K’s just in town and decided I had driven this far and could see some blue sky so I drove back to the base. The sun and Rado dry air had the road ready in minutes. I got another 6 trips up the Pass and just had a blast. There’s still some snow up top and lots of wildlife. I don’t think many people realize Cottonwood is open cuz traffic was slow. I’m still trying to figure out how many times I drove by this Pass on the way to New Mexico and never new it was there.

The Bighorn Sheep are a sign that there is a Devil. If you said Unicorns were real I would believe that before I would believe there’s this goat with huge fangs that wrap around it’s head out the top. These things are huge and don’t feel like getting outta your way when your bombing hills. Colorado Road Goats, and don’t think for a second one of these things wouldn't relish in the chance of gouging out your eyes with it’s fang.

Oh and I got one of those rides to nowhere. I'm hitching this road out there by myself and this guy pulls over, I get in and tell him I goin to the top. This guy was parking about half a mile and left me in a blind uphill corner. I had to ride back down to where he picked me up. And why do people put there hands up in that I would if I could gesture when they’re in an empty car. It’s always fun to catch a ride then get to the top and see the people there who didn’t pick you up. I like to get outta the car and excessively thank my ride and loudly announce how much cooler they are then the rest of the peeps in the parking lot. Just a fun day in Rado. The SkunTech Project One has been rad and testing it has given me a new vision for DH racing. I would like to see this board under Kibbling or King Brian's feet. I notice the wieght or lack of wieght (my complete is just a lil heavier than my trucks and wheels) when footbreaking most. You don't have this heavy pull into the corners and slowing down is easy and fast. Watching Hugh and Brian ride Lookout without putting down a hand or foot makes me wanna see just how a board made to perform functions under a talented rider. SkunkTech is based outta Camarillo just north of Malibu so plan on seeing one of the canyon young guns to be on board.

What a wild Spring. I didn't get to really take this all in yet. I was able to travel to New York and solidify plans for the Next Adventure (more on that later). Then to LA, Tuscon, Albequerque and back to RADO. I'm kinda happy to get to work and at least be able to eat. I know I say that now but when the job gets crazy and work becomes work again, I will be able to look back on so many goodtimes and just smile and let it slide.

I've been on Loveland this week heaps. How rad to go snowboarding for a couple runs then got to the car switch boards and then bomb the Pass to the ski area. I got to chill in the parking lot with friends and ride boards (snow and skate)what could be better?
Hill hunting in Rado is still going on. I'm finding and riding new stuff all the time and hope to keep bombing new thrilling hills with the rest of you.
May you never travel faster than your angels can fly.

I don't know how the kids over at Silverfish do it but it's damn hard to keep up with this intraweb thing and skate at the same time. DitchSlap was amazing! How often do you go riding and have to look around for helicopters chasing you? I can't begin to tell all the stories. Watching some of the best skaters ride terrain that has to be illegal, cause it's so damn fun. To see all my friends and family was just the icing on a roadrash cake. Timeship, Brunson, Miller, and all the NMexico locals made it happen. The 3 mile Ditch Race was damn fun and was bitchn to be out in front even if it was brief. Bump drafting Robskey while he was trying to put his foot down and duck under tree branches and ride around Hoodie's Roman Candles...YEAH! HELL YEAH! So fun. I don't have enough time to talk about The Slap and mention eeerbody who made me safe and smile because it's on to the next one.

The Loco Express arrived on Wednesday and things got real scabby around my house. 10 people in a camper who all want showers and to do laundry and eat. My house looks like they were never here. Everybody was respectful and made sure to do there part in treating my house as there own. I don't see that enough sometimes with the people I travel with. These guys and Kristin all get high numbers for picking up after themselves and just being respectful. Over the years I've seen plenty of riders trash other peoples homes or use there stuff and just be douchebags. Learn from the Loco.

We skated a very forbidden road with high bust factor. Boards went up in one car and I called a private shuttle for the adults with special needs was taking "hiking". Met our gear at the top inside our Trojan Horse and bombed on of the most beautiful roads I wont mention. We got a run down Vail Pass the Copper side on there way outta town. I love taking people up there and right now there's plenty of snow to make a snowball while bombin. Speedsnowballboarding fight. We got some great photos for the 2 local papers and some shots will someday be framed and held by this old guy on a porch talking about the old days.
Now time to go race LookOut. See ya on the hill.

On the road.
On 4/29/2009 me wrote in from United States  (67.41.nnn.nnn)

A quick note from Brunson's house. Katie and I are traveling together after leaving Maytum in Cali to take care of business. So we raced the Cali Outlaw Sunday and had a great time. Lots of fun action and I hit a camera man for the second time. The guy was hanging on the inside of a right turn and I had my wheels on the line. My "hands forward tuck" my right forearm clipped his forehead and I guess knocked him out for a spell. I didn't mean to clip him and felt bad until I heard he was ok and then wondered why he didn't use the zoom. So Katie and I bugged out for Tuscon and Mt. Lemmon. We arrived late and got 2 hours of sleep before having to load up the Uhaul for 22 miles of pleasure. Mt Lemmon is a must and I will never forget trying to tuck for more than 30mins. We got into Brunson's last night and caught a nightcap with JimZ and Schnitz, caught a nap before riding today with the New Mexico kids on Sandia. I think there were 20 of us bombing Sandia. I gotta wrap this up and want to thank eeeerbody so far who has helped with the journey. Jimmy Flindt and his Mom who put us up and fed us while in Cali, thank you very much. The rides up GMR and Mercado (Muffins) for the laughs and hauling us up the hill. Zak gave Katie and I his car to make the rest of the trip, very cool. Rolf, Andreas and Brody in Tuscon for showing me a beautiful place on Earth. Now we are chilling in Madrid getting laced up for Ditch Slap and 4 days of sunscreen. Word on the street is there's a big race coming up in Colorado next week. Go to RADO! More updates to come. I don't have time to get into the gory details of this trip yet and there's still miles to go. Time to go tell stories by the fire and laugh. www.skuntechboards.com

Josh should tell ya bout it but when I got it it was drilled for Maguns. I had Radikal's on it and it had to sit on risers. It needs low trucks, Kahalani's maybe or Gullwings? So the the deck is big and long and it's kinda turd shaped. The board is fun to ride and I think I road it in Europe? Kinda wierd ride though cause the foam is so rigid. Ya feel the bumps a bit. The SkunkTechBoard is so different. The honeycomb and resin could provide dampening...? I'm out there not only to ride but learn about the STB. The construction is beautiful, even the cop thought it was a "nice looking board". I'll see ya this weekend and you can take it for a run. Gotta pack

What's a Speedboard?
On 4/22/2009 Rob wrote in from United States  (67.176.nnn.nnn)

"You shoulda saw the hill we use to ride as kids" and then ya have to humor some old biker about how you never heard of "clay wheels".
Really stoked for this trip with Zak and Katie. Suppose we're gonna mess with some folks with this crew.
I'm just getting done testing the SkunkTechBoard for it's first runs around Vail. Happy to say I got pulled over on Battle Mountain. One of those conversations were the cop (Sheriff) was absolutely right about everything. I just put this sick carbon board together and the last thing I wanted was to lose a one of a kind, handmade board before this trip. He said I could get 2 tickets; impeding a motorway and speeding. (50 in a 30). The board is fricken cool. This is the first board ever made by STB and I was happy to see it not only werks but feels bitchn. I'm going to meet with Kerry @ STB headquarters and get all the gooey material details but it's aluminum honeycomb and carbon. This thing complete is lighter than some decks! I can't wait to see what comes next when Kerry makes boards available. The STB is 42.25L 10.25W

The carbon board you asked about Max was made by Josh Weisfeld (sorry if I screwed up the spelling Josh) I couldn't give it up because it's a cherished gift. He is making boards from the last time we spoke so Josh if your out there...sup? His board is a foam core and I think vacuum bagged? Surfboard construction. That board is fun cause it's big and light. 41.5L 11W
The Dregs was my first speedboard and I dropped it after talking to Gary Hardwick. 39L ?W Great concave on that deck and some great times.
I had a couple Landy's and this was an early one. A short heavy dropthru that I spent a lotta time on in 2004. I still like setting this lil "tank" up once and a while. 38.5L flat W?
The Never Summer is a beast and the only thing cool was one of the most embarrassing things about it...the Iron Cross. Just heavy and long. This was a board I had to ride and should only say, they make snowboards. 44L 10W
There's a Chicago in there and it was kinda fun. But it's getting flexy now it is just a bit small for me.
The first StreetMissile board is the 05 and Ian at Kebbek made that one. Love that board and it has always been my go to. Just a slight camber and thing fit like a glove. 42.5L 8.75W. The following model the 06 with the Globe graphic was a bit flexy for DH. 42.75L 8.75W
That's Andy from the BlackCat Skateshop in Charlottesville Virginia looking for the hardware.

Liam GET OVER HERE!
Ditchslap!!! wow I mean really wow
