I've got a Xootr Street (CNC machined aluminum deck) with the optional low rolling resistance wheels, and I'm not sure I'd bet on it against a skateboard equipped with Lime ZigZags. I've never done a head-to-head gravity test though.. the above is just based on feeling/memory. I've also got a set of amber-colored 83mm ABEC11's and I was never impressed with their roll.

chris has already made 'thane soap box tires
bob you will find that $29 black Xootr wheels will be much faster than 101 Abecs, due to the larger diameter (175mm)
you are right, pnuematics are not that fast unless you really prep them well

Flywheels Break Soap Box Record

A little news flash for ya. This week is the All American Soap Box Derby in Akron Ohio. This year they are featuring an "Unlimited Class" and they threw out alot of the rules to see what people could come up with. With lots of discussion and theorizing Dr Mechanic John ? and Justin Crenshaw decided to gamble on "small wheels" that we use on luge. We knocked it around in our heads a little and I (Blue Smoke)decided to sponsor the team a set of ABEC11 75a 101mm for the 300lbs car. The car's driver is 16 year old Miss Maryland Teen America 2006 Danna Thomas.
Justin just called and told be that they smoked the time trials and broke the track record while the other teams with the tall expensive German pneumatic tires were left to scratch thier heads..... This experiment was a major untested gamble and it looks to be working. As Chris will tell you "It's all in the formula" Rebound Baby!!!! So Chris are you ready to make "thane" soap box tires??? The real race and test comes this weekend. here is a pict of the time trials.

Chris, you are venturing into the land of Paul Howard on RedBull I hope you have a plausible reason for not marketing your bushings without packaging. And I have heard rumors of your packaging, sounds interesting and admirable. But as I posted earlier this year, if you didn't start offering them to the public I would sic a Red Bull influenced Pauliwog on you. Seeing as how you, Red Bull and Paul will be in Hood River at the same time.... chances are you will hear his discourse on trucks, axles and bushings fueled by caffeine. Be prepared.
Oh yeah, Paul anything I've mentioned about you not drinking caffeinated beverages is not in effect for the next week. Drink up!!
See you in Hood River.

its because the inside edge is toooooo square. i got some new ones from u and put them on the lath and shaved the inside edge round. it may take away 1mm or two but you cannot notice it and it seems to keep the chunks away. maybee you should incorparate this into the desine of the wheel or you keep getting poeple who are unhappy because their wheels have chunked, then they want new ones , thats got to cost you. if you incorparated this rounding of the inside edge you will save money and have happy costomers too.
hope it helps
not trying to be a dick but thats the way i felt when my gummies chunked

Saxon, I'll be running the 70mm Pink Seven-O's in Europe. I've used them for about 10 miles and they show very little wear, and this is 10 miles of hairpins and etc. So far I'm really impressed with them even though they are harder than the usual buttboard wheels I run (75a). I really like ethe offset because they just float with Randal Luge trucks. The only reason I prefer grippins is because when they wear I can flip them because they're center-set, and the Retro's aren't. They're almost like a small Gumball. Hope to see you this summer in Sweden and Switzerland.
