Get a Felt Tip Pen (that ones used on CD-Rs) and write directly on the whell. Place? Choose the one that you like most.
I draw a line with theses pens in my krypto 76mm to see how long long the line last. Well, the line did not disappeared yet and I suspect that the ink flowed inside the whell, penetrating in the urethane.

print on wheels

A sharpie is a slalom skater's best friend. I buy them by the box of 10. Since I know the print of my beloved abec 11 wheels will come off within a session or two when I get them new I take my swiss army knife and scrape the print off (sorfter duros are much easier) and mark the inside lips with a sharpie. Even when I was with 3dm I marked my wheels, I even have some stradas marked with duros (incase I forgot what they were) though the orange/green/purple/yellow - sometimes pink or blue duro scheme is forever seared into my brain).

core hardness

relative hardness, you could have 60D, 75D ect ect, at a certain point you'd make the cores for the bearings to slide together, any stretch in the urithane and the bearings are loose, If you go slightly softer, you still get plenty of bearing support and aliegnment and the core can have a bit of a chamfer and stretch a bit.If you make cores out of metal bearing fit can be great but they get heavy really quick, unless you make them thin, now you get a bit of stretch, you also get a the possibility of unwanted permanent stretch, loosening fit, powerpaw aluminators did this.

Hey Chris is there any way to print the duro on your wheels so they stay there? I hate having wheels and I'm not sure which duro they have. Different coloured hubs sounds like a good idea...

keep the color. They are fast and obnoxious and i can think of no other way to fly down a hill. They stand out no matter what board you put them on either.

Different core hardness would be interesting. But would the core flex causing the wheel to deform and possibly reduce speed? Also would it put stress on you bearings? How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop? The world may never know...

That green is a lot closer to the color of my Abec 11 wheels than the background Chris uses on his posts.

Black is the worst color that you would want for urethane wheels. Dark anything is suspect. Not only does it heat up in the sun more, but more pigments, dyes and "contaminants" are added unnecessarily.
The other issue with colors is that it has historically been used as a way of denoting the durometer (Kryptos). Today, many enlightened skaters like to put different durometer wheels and trucks on the front than they do on the back. This means that they'd get a pink and purple setup for rough surfaces and a red-orange combo on their blue board. No thanks. Martha Stewart went to jail for this. Originally I was going to do the Flywheels in gray and put yellow, orange and red hubs in them for the different duros. We only had orange hubs for our first run and so we made them in three shades of gray - "Smoke", "Ghost" and "Charcoal". Nobody could tell what was what. What happens if we wanted more than three duros? Pink, Cyan, Mauve? Next came some "root beer" and "amber" colors. They won the Gravity Games but they looked like mud on TV. I didn't want to be the "Green Wheel and/or Orange Hub" company, so I decided to see how bad green wheels on orange hubs would look. It's either so bad that it's good or it's all good. Vibrant green is a good fast color. Orange is obnoxious. Together, they're fast and obnoxious, just like the designer 8-)

Hmm... personally, I don't see the need for Chris to change his wheel color. He's right, it's a fairly young company and it's much too soon to start changing things this early in the grand scheme of things. There are dyes available for those that are THAT concerned with wheel color. My favorite color is orange, but I can never find wheels that I like that color. Well, besides the Manx wheels. LOL! Sorry, Chris. But, ABEC 11 puts out a quality wheel that's very fast and effective. Don't fix it if it ain't broke, I say.
Sorry, just my usual 2¢. Keep up the good work on the wheels, Chris!

Names and Colors

Believe it or not, I'm trying to keep things simple. I don't want to ever have maore than 7 names for wheels. The human brain can't deal with more than 7 names, digits, whatever. I decided that it would be simpler to have names for "families" of wheels that come in different sizes. All four Flywheels, both NØ SkoolZ and both Strikers would require 8 names, rather than 3, if I didn't. I liked the name Stingers. It was originally a contraction for "STickyfINGERS" and had slalom implications as well. I've discontinued the Stingers because I want more urethane and .400" spacing. The name carries a little baggage and so I decided to come up with a new name. I may have been watching Olympic soccer when I thought of the name. I can denote "gods of thunder, anvils striking while the iron is hot..." It depicts action which I like for a wheel that slides well. The best part though, is that it only replaces 3 of the 7 original letters.
I completely understand that people would like a variety of colors. I won't say "never" but right now it would be a huge mistake on my part to water down the powerful marketing and branding leverage that green is giving me. I'm in a "growth phase" right now. There still aren't very many people who have heard of Abec 11. Green is so easy to spot in pictures and in stores that it would be suicide to give up the most visible differentiating feature of a young product line. For now I suggest that you dye the wheels if you really don't want green.

John, I do think Chaput has stolen your name bro, you should get a profit percentage plus charge a mispelling surcharge for mispelling your name. Just an idea, just one skater bro trying to help out another skater bro one day at a time, I'm with 'ya man. If you need some leverage, send Q to live at his house until he pony's up with the money. most of the abec 11 wheels i order are 75a ,though some of the new designs (more thane) make harder duro's seem like they might be a good idea. Anyway , the 96a noskools are unmistakable for 75a's the green is totally different, you'd have to be severly color blind to make a mistake. BUT I do agree that the green and orange is getting a bit tiresome, not bad enough to ride shytonics, but smokey tire silver grey core gets my vote, hey maybe clear core and various colors for different tires . DO you think different core hardnesses might make some difference?

I recall riding some 101mm flywheels in transparent blue - 65a I think at the Presisio a few years back. Way cool looking 'thane.
While on the subject, my flashbacks are a totally different green than (more yellow) than my gumballs....did I get a weird batch?

I am also for the the change in wheel colors. Chris let's face it, you have two hands up on everyone in the wheel market. With krypto changing their web stie saying that their wheels are not for racing, and you having a wheel for EVERY discipline, why not spice things up a bit? Remember the reaction you got when you did the first green fly's?
