My apologies, from my roots of carving hard, to Mr. Coleman, and to anyone who likes slides over carves.
I'm a racer; A Snowboarder; Worse than that, a Snowboarder who Races. : oh, and a skater who raced in a few venues that didn't require sliding. My skating isn't limited to DH/Race/Sl, but also includes Ramp, Pool, Freestyle, and a small bit of Streetstyle [which I suck at, but, whatever, ankles only flex so far after 30 yrs. on]
I note this because, an old friend (who slides) told me to Shut-up, as there are wheels out there, better than I describe, usually available, IF you describe your search correctly. Much luck there....
But I still like Ozzie's Krypto Slammers, ..just too good to pass up that classic

Disclaimer; I ain't Cliff, I don't slide like Cliff, though I used to be 'almost' as fast in Super-g... So, keep in mind, I've rode a long-ish time on longboards, but have no 'slide style', as slides usually 'happen' to me mid-carve, instead of my planning for them. Hence, while I do slide a bit, it's not what I ride for....
So, I noticed that there are two vendors out there with 'cheap' wheels, one of which, while 'smallish' for most longboards, do slide when provoked, while the other is an unknown, but look very much like Globe wheels.
Nord Skates has the 'blank' wheels that seemed like the shape/size of Globe's longboard wheel, and they're $20/4 pack. I can't give any opinion on those, sorry.
Over at Ozzie's Oldschoolskates website, he's got 88A Krypto Slammers from the 90's, no core, but a rounded profile, at discount prices, depending on Qty. ordered. Good wheels for urban warfare, imho. The 'large order' prices are noteworthy there.
I've noticed that Landyatchz Biggiehawgs seem to drift out nicely. I've only rode two sets, one worn-in, and another fairly fresh. The worn-in ones broke loose smoothly and with reasonably decent ease. The newer ones gripped, maybe even more than ABEC 11 Freerides, and I got tossed once, but they seem decent enough in being predictable.

I am sure this is up here but what are some good slide wheels? Wheels cost so much now I don't want to buy 2 or 3 sets to find good ones.

While I appreciate your loyalty to the original site, it was taking far too much of my time to keep running and it suffered from numerous other technical and security deficiencies.

Sorry for the subterfuge, Cliff.PhpBB didn't have anything remotely like Ncdsa's old Contest Calendar so that link goes back to the old server and isn't well supported in the phpBB menu system, hence the oddball link at top of page.

Thanks for the birthday wishes! Thanks everyone for the gifts. Thanks especially for the company here in Berkeley, CA where it all started so long ago. We skated Berkeley and Oakland and had a great time. Sergio and Fernando are here for another week. We will be skating tomorrow.Thanks Noel McComas, the party at your home was off the hook. There were a lot of old school sliders present. It was great to see photos of the old with the new with Chris Pettyjohn, Chris Davis, Noel McComas, Chris Gilmartin, Sergio, Fernando and Adam Auger.On the day of my birthday, I ran a mile, then went to the gym and bench pressed 275 pounds to equal my personal best and did it on my 60th birthday.
