GI Joe...I'm stoked to hear you are planning Maryhill 2006!! I can't wait to ride that sweet hill again.
Judith and I won't be making it out to ABQ this weekend. John and I were going to share the all-night drive on Friday night,but it's not going to happen. I hate to miss this one....hopefully we will make the next event in ABQ.

I'm back to work after a little vacation in Quebec. Judith and I had a great ride with the Montreal crew and wish we had spent more time on our boards. Ian, Pierre, Dwayne, Pascal, Sebastian and Montoya were our "tour guides" down some of the sweet hills in the west end of Montreal...good stuff!! Hope we didn't slow you guys down too much!!!
Visiting friends and family was fun, but Judith says riding downhill with the locals was the highlight of the trip. Thanks again guys!

Let's start by explaining that there will be NO le Mans style start at altitude because the highway Dept killed the Crest road for years to come. So instead we'll have a Rio Bravo Outlaw Race with 6 man heats which should provide enough room for everyone to safely avoid traffic, eachother and Johns Big Zipper. The rest of the eventful weekend should prove to be more of a Bro Fest than a Pro Fest with what looks like a small turnout that will include less Pros and more Ladies and Locals. Carly, Judith and Isa will make the biggest Ladies Class we've ever had.
While this years All Around will have less emphasis on DH, it's looking like we'll have much more time to PLAY, maybe head to the Jemez Mts. Have you been practicing running cones? Banked Slalom? The Cross Town race is so much fun being mostly DH or pumpable, it's probably a better candidate for hood ornamentation too. At this point I'm rooting for a small turnout so we can pack everyone into the vans and take over the town. Did you read the post explaining that it's the same weekend as the International Balloon Fiesta? If you've never seen this spectacle you will be blown away by the level of RISK TAKING that these pilots live for. We could even find ourselves helping to pull one down or getting a lift up.
Think of it as less of a race and more of a Rally. Our reputation precedes us, and finally YES....Maryhill in 2006.

Can you throw a race at Maryhill again next year?......pleeeeeaaaaasssseeee!!!
So…no Sandia, Le Mans starts, sprinting at altitude, outlaw/highway downhill without hay bales but with oncoming traffic...more outlaw DH...etc etc etc etc...sounds fun but I'm scared Joe!! New Mexico is great, but I don't want to become a hood ornament or die of a heart attack in friggin’ Abq!!! Last year I “worked” myself trying to do a 4” ollie!! Sounds like I’ll be lucky to make it out alive this time!!.... Mr. Safety...are you still there???? John, Judith and I were talking about making the last minute drive out...you will probably see us there. We hear Indian School calling our names, but the contest sounds like a lot of work.

Good times at GMR on Sunday. John, Brent, McIntyre, Flindt, Midgit, Tom Edstrand, Tyler and myself got to run the entire 8 miles...John, Jimmy and Tom ran it twice!! Brent hit some of the new “cat tracks” and took a spill near the top…hope his knee isn’t messed up too much.

Time has come to put on the first official Swedish championship, the race will be held at Ållleberg/ Falköping on the 24-25 of September.
All international riders are welcome to ride and fight for the title Swedish champion.
The course is just over 1km long with a slow corner to start and then a 120 degree right, a 40degre left and a 90 degree left to the finish line. 
We will be using 200 hay bales to safe the course.
We will have to volunteers from the Red Cross there to fix us up and an ambulance will be at the bottom of the hill if they have the time.(We don’t want to have to stop the race)
All this for 150sek or 20$us
Rides can register at www.longboard.nu
There are cabins on top of the hill that can be rented for 150sek per person (call +46-(0)515-37151) if in the event that more than 30 riders should turn up then there will be two heated military tents that can house 12 men per tent.(free)

Sandia Crest Road has been the hapless victim of a highway repaving job disaster. The TimeShip Crew has got plan 'B' Outlaw version 1.0 See the sign up page for details. I hope you didn't think the Le Mans style start was aimed JUST at cigarette smokers! Send John or how about Brent DeKeyser? I once saw him do a grind, but no 360. And damn if Andrew Mercado didn't lend his leathers and gear to Brent Kosick who then easily beat me at Vail and for the Overall Racer too. Thanks Andrew, come out to Abq and take up the challenge.

heres a shot from the podium at the race at maryhill, you can see the metal boards that dave and john made there. i think they are pretty sweet looking, i certaintly would not want to be smacked in the anklke from one of those things.
and dave, to bad we did'nt meet up earlier before the race, about 10 of us skated this on friday. it is also called a "loops rd", there are 4 of them in the area, its a few miles of this:

Matt..you could probably build that type of board. The end pieces would require 2 bends with significantly more bend angle when compared to the 1-bend ends we have been making. Those bends would require you to form the metal in a soft condition (-O condition) and then heat treat after forming for the required strength....that would be expensive. We use 3/8" 6061-T651 Plate for our ends. You would probably need to "sandwich" the wood ends between the end and a large "washer" plate to distribute the loads evenly to the wood. Riding the board would probably tend to loosen the ends as the wood might compress/deform at the end joints when loaded. Drilling the wood (straight) to fit the ends may be a bit difficult.
What steering angles and ride height are you looking for? You might want to draw a full scale/side view drawing to see how it might work. If you know the wheelbase, trucks, wheels, truck angles, ride height, deck length and minimum bend radius for the aluminum...the rest of the drawing is like connecting the dots..sort of ;) Flindt's new board rides about 1/4" higher than his EVO. The rear is flat and the front has about 10 degrees added steering. He is using 35 degree Randal plates. We can add "drop" spacers for the board and/or trucks to drop it lower if he wants.

Great job Jimmy!! Glad you are liking the board. So your off to Montreal now?...good deal. Looks like you and Connor will REPRESENT for the SoCal DH crew...rip it up!!
I think Tyler is going to give them all a run on the luge. Not sure if CC got a ticket yet.
That board should be great for Montreal!!...the rain won't hurt it, and the front shouldn't break off if you hit a pothole or a 1" steel plate in the road ;)
Brent came out to the Dump Rd. on Sunday and picked his board up...he's still really fast!

I love your modular board thing. At first glance at Marryhill I was convinced it's the future!- and I think I'm going to try a simmilar deal. What I want to do is put a non drop through landy DH style front and rear onto my Kebbek rough cut deck. What do you think? What grade aluminum should I use? Bending technique? Heat?
