Michael.
Remember to stretch properly after exercise (especially running!). A dip into some cold water is good too. Gets the blood flowing to help you repair faster after exercise.

Tuesday training

Took Monday off completely to rest, went running Tuesday Morning in perfect sunshine, beautiful.
The course Tuesday evening was a wide easish one, nice to ease back. BUT my ankles are killing me. They are just burning. Any ideas what exercise I should do? I cant see myself swimming, and gyms cost money. All ideas welcome.
Good to see PAul Price healing, a wee bit scabby but moving well.
Only had a half of Leffe and a coke, so not too bad on the drink front.
See you Thursday.

A great swooping cone fest of a course, long, so tiring. Got to CP to see Frank, Phil Burgoyne and Jim sweeping the paths, I think I did just enough to join in.
I felt very tired and the sun was great so a good chance to snooze.
Paul Price took an awful tumble at the finsih line, shorts and elbow need sorting. Luckilly he was padded up. get well soon, hope the Rampone concert was good.
Didnt go to Pub afterwards so no negative food points.
Off for a run today, and Hyde Park tommoorow.

Rest Day...pah!

Decided to have a rest day....some chance, came back from Brighton to get sidetracked. I'm easily sidetracked.
Ended up dashing into London and chashing lady friend over Hampstead Heath on a Mountain Bike....trouble was I was running behind it, but hey, chasing women is a good incentive. Went from the 'Vale of Health' to 'Kite Hill', down to the 60 ft Table and Chair art installation and back up hill cross country to the van. Lovely evening, great views.
Slightly negated training regime by going to Camden having a Marine Ices Hazlenut scoop, Vanilla scoop and Hot Chocolate sauce, and a few bites of Cassatta.
Definately negated by pub food a couple of hours later of Melted Camenbert Cheese and Rolls..and cider.
Right, looking forward to Crystal Palace today. Hills I like!

Went for a run along the old railway line between Welwyn and Wheathampstead. Absolutely no one around to see me puffing and panting. BAck to Hyde Park for a good practice. Paul K set a difficult, tight course, making him counter-rotate so much I thought he'd snap. Not really my type of course BUT you MUST practice different courses because you never know what you'll find at a comp.
Poor Luke had a bad evening, I think he'd have prefferred a blasting pumping course...as would I....luckily he wasnt going full blast when a suicide cone head decided to plonk a cone right in front of him, luckilly he stopped in time to scoop her up.
Being told that Hyde Park was 'for kids' annoyed the hell out of me. I think we all take great care to avoid accidents BUT adults with children, who've sat by the course for 1/2 and hour must take responsibility for their kids. The children dont make the best decisions, the adults must do it for them. Here endeth the lesson.
Only had a 1/2 of Cider and some orange juice, and water in the pub, no food. One Pork Scratching.
Looking forward to Sunday to shoot hills at Crystal Palace.
Off for another run this morning. Trouble is I have a big night out tonight...bound to be led astray.

Well this is funny... seeing a picture of my treasured marble cock on this site(thanks sam), but hey, why not have a notable cock! So I landed in NZ 3.5 years ago and I've been doing my best to continue eeking a living out of the snowboard game. (I distribute a number of snowboard brands across NZ & Oz). Can't complain. Cheers Martin for the small intro which is about right. As for whats gonna happen at the Worlds, hell I'm thinking - bollocks, this is possibly a chance in a life time occassion to race against some icons of my formative years and I'm going to grab this bull and go with it. I'm gonna go Pro. Straight off. Forgot all that ams lark. F*&k it! I can hack-it. (geddit?) Someone might want to tell me to stop being silly, but... Practice is going well down here. Its bloody cold at times as its mid winter, but I get out sat&sun plus a day in the week and have been going strong with some nice 35/40 cone+ courses in TS, Hybrid and GS. I analyse all the vid I can and know what every hot rider is doing to be that good. Then I duplicate it. I'm running a Turner, an old Hooger Booger which has delamed and knackered now but am awaiting a couple of Roe's and am going to make some decks of my own with the local snowboard manufacturer (JMS at RibCage). I bought a Split-fire rear which is well nice but the good old trackers are a dependable option. Grippins really do Grip! Khiro's rule. My old Lazers (I have a brand new unridden set too) are still a great responsive truck. I can't see I'm going to make a disgrace of myself. I'm fighting fit, out on the DH bike and snowboard when ever and don't eat that many pie's. Mike. Just waiting now for a definitive answer of where the f*&k the competitions going to take place and then try and squeeze some accommodation. Why isn't it possible everyone stays in the same place with a cheap accommodation deal sorted?? Hey, how the hell do you post pictures on here??? Some one tell me and I'll stick some up. Looking forward. Eddie in Wanaka NZ.

Eddie was Head of the British Snowboard Assoc. for donkey's years...We wouldn't let him resign, every year he would try and every year its acceptance was refused! We used to call him "El Presidente" ...Diamond Geezer. I first met him when he showed up to a Brands Hatch Brit Champs comp around '87/'88(Frank Wheeler, Stridey, Paul Price, Phil Burgoyne and Sweeney were there) on a floppy G & S with Alligator Wheels and he was the only one not from London so no-one knew this mystery man...

Skated Crystal Palce with Frank N, and pumped down the hill...then pumped back up to get some training in. A good Hour and halfs worth, then to pub for a half of Cider (always drink alcohol that uses slalomers in their advertising..plug for Strongbow.
Head to Hyde PArk and fall asleep on the grass and then a godd hour and a half on a long flat course drifting four wheels on a couple of cones. Good one Mick. Shown up by 11 year old Ella who took twice as many runs as everyone else.
Drank two Orange Juice and Lemonades and no Burgers. I am wasting away. But getting fitter slowly.
Got to do something tommorow, I may go for a run.

that cornish pastie chain in london is in no way connected with cornwall, i think cornish piemakers are trying to sue on some copyright issue. not to tasty either, mine smelt like sick it is hard to find good pie in london i have found. the square pie co. are ok, but you can't hold em in your hand and eat em (whilst doing a k driving on the motorway in a filmcrew vehicle with a can of coke between yr legs) the best pie is handheld with lots of moist filling, not just gristle and gravy/arseholes and eyelashes, a buttery flaky crust and just the right temperature... many moons ago i made a tv doco on the best pie in new zealand. it took 3 weeks on the road and lots of burnt tounges. the winner was 'Ponsonby Pies'.

Firstly, Kati, do get in touch with Chris at Lush, tell him I said so! They will know more about whats happenning in the 'North' and are a cool bunch. They dont just skate but kite surf, surf, mountainbike etc. Also there may be some luge/downhill events up that way. I'll try to find out.
Right, Training and stuff. Well woke up today feeling ill. So I'll start tommorrow.
Wondering whether its possible to make Antibes AND the welcome party Tuesday in Cali....any idea of flights anyone?

Good to have you over in the UK. I picked up a couple of the Pocket Pistol Young Guns stickers from Chicken in Stockholm. So now you're an Intercontinental racer!
Get in touch with the Lush boys to find out what might be happening in your area: Click here for link
And do let us London types know if Team Campbell are thinking about a trip to the capital.
All the best,
