yea....my legs are feeling the heat now. yesterday i felt no pain until i started riding my slalom board. my knee was killing me and today i had to work which sucked.
i gotta say that a weekend of racing makes slalom feel boring as hell, but i gotta ride it because the farm is in like a week.
Ian--did you get any good photos?

I don't have your number Niel so I can't return your calls! If you need to speak to me, I'm here most of the day and if I'm not, leave your number with Lauren or on the answering machine.
Thanks!

thanks for the info guys, i'll let him know
personally i am almost looking forward to rain....you could pull some pretty sweet slides in practice on a wet surface. just make sure to bring some old bearings. my tip is to take off the sheilds and between everyrun spray some air into them. most people say grease, but grease is very VERY slow.

To be honest this is the first time I have had this question since we began practice three years ago. In the early days of speedboard...hehehe back when Kludy was a young man!!!LOL the speedboarders were always given the choice of racing or not due to rain (read-wet course). In the last several years the class as a whole has gone for it and found most can and will race in the rain.
That being said....gravity races are very expensive to put on and these expenses cannot be recovered because mother nature showers us so we have always said "race rain or shine", if a racer feels they cannot/will not race in the rain and the event does occur then it is their choice to sit out and forfeit the entry. A lot of work goes into registration and bracketing to get ready for the races and a rider taking themselves out of the event can cause even more work to redo the brackets to ensure they are fair for the remaining riders. Any rider who does not wish to race due to rain will still be allowed to ride the course during the practice runs (which occur all day, both days) so that they may gain experience if they wish.
Riders who sign up for practice only who wish not to ride due to weather will be given a refund on Sunday after the event if they have not ridden over the course of the weekend.

So I can pay just 35 bucks to ride the hill. I like that and dont need the metal at the end because I can race all as I feel the need to . Thats very cool that you guys would do that and you guys and girl that do let me know and I will make a run or two with you. No worries, I made the money to pay the full price but it is very cool that you can ride a big hill like that so cheap! This race is the only race that makes bio trading cards for there riders and gives so much just for two days of fun! MAN I LOVE THIS RACE!

We are the first organization to allow practice only at events so that riders of all levels can utilize a closed road to gain more experience in the sport they wish to advance their skills in. The registration form for MCGF is accurate that there is a charge for the ability to practice each day, anyone who is found using the course without proper registration will be asked to leave immediately. I'm sure there are riders in the past who have paid for one day and taken two they were just not caught.

You can sign up for practice by going to www.gravitysportsinternational.com and follow the links for MCGF V. Just a reminder that pre-registration is cheaper than onsite and you can pay in several different ways (ie check, money order, credit card etc- onsite will be cash only).
Also something new: Want to avoid the long registration lines??? Complete registration and pre-pay!!!
This year GSI will be giving something new a try at Madison County Gravity Festival-Express Registration Line. Those who have completed registration online and either pay online or in advance (no later than July 23, 2006) will be able to check in by using the express registration line. You must have the following complete by the above date in order to use this line:
1 Correct registration online (no changes at registration). 2 Payment in full.
At the course BEFORE entering the line you must:
1 Complete and sign a medical form. 2 Complete and sign an event waiver form.
At registration you will be asked for current id, proof of current medical insurance and hand in your medical and waiver forms. These will be matched with the registration form we have on file for you and you can then head to tech inspection.

RE:Helmets....not sure if its snell, but i do know that it is a very trust worthy helmet. Many rely on it, and it has great visibility. Just take a look in any CW magazine and you will see many using this helmet. I'm not looking for a rating, just to know if I can use it at Munnsville because this is my only helmet. And I bet it is safer than almost all of those aero helmets that people use

Don't forget to send in your Bio card information. We are only weeks away from Gravity Fest. We are working on layout right now. We will post a deadline for submission as soon as we form one, but try to get them in now.

If it helps at all, Tom Estrand used the same helmet at Maryhill this past week, and won...i believe its around 50mph. Pretty much the whole Landyachtz team is on them, as well as countless others. People have been known the crash on them and they hold up very well.
