Tim, We will be able to drive to the top of the hill to drop off the ramps. As far as the ramps go we are bringing just one. It's up to Paul on how we will be setting things up. I think he said One lane a GS and the other a hybrid course.Either way this is all just for fun right? :-)The speed freaks of our group will have a chance to really cut loose. I'm not sure what course will be the one being timed for the "race".Paul is very demoractic when it comes to thouse type of decisions. Whatever everyone wants to do. Looking forward to the Season Opener! See Ya. John

I may also not be into the ramp+hill gnarl factor by sunday, but no worries about the Mongo -- no one in their right mind laughs at a guy named ThoR :-D I'll be doing a one-armed Hollien pump. Hoping the timing strips are just ahead of the cones so the option to ramp or to push is there, but we don't have to do that "smack the strip with your hand" thing? Salems gonna rock!!

I like the ramps. With my bad hip I can not get a descent push start pushing off my back foot. I could learn to push mongo but people would laugh at me and I am sensitive. Even when we have the ramps I do not intend to be one of the fast guys but it is encouraging to me to not be 3 cones behind before I get to the first cone. The thought of ramps in Salem however with the speed of that hill is sort of frightening to me. I just want to finish and stay on and am not looking for extra speed. I would love to see the ramps at all other races we have. Just my 2 cents.

But will he carry the ramps UP the hill to the top of the course?
Seriously, I don't think we need the ramps for the season kick-off BBQ event which will be full of beginners and cobweb-covered skaters...

Race Schedule, and an Amendment

Hey, Thanks John and James for the info, there are some likely changes already:
1) I will be doing my "Big and Fast" in Salem 21 May 06 Sunday instead of the 2 day 100 cone race, I'm keeping that event date open if we need it in case Pat's event(#2 below) needs the date I'm using. Otherwise I'll put on a Big Fast open course race since we haven't had one in a long time.
2) Pat is working with the Salem Parks Dept on the 2 day Salem event of 100 cones and hybrid which will likely be in June.
SKATEPARK SLALOM-Hmmm, that Auburn place looks pretty cool, I'd be into doing an outlaw early morning barge-in banked slalom race there. Definately we should have a park slalom at Mukilteo, that would be WAY cool and we might get more people interested in entering it.
Hmmm, I kind of like this NCDSA CSA forum, a little more conveniant than CSA emailing in some ways but I'll still keep the CSA email list and send messages out.
Adios-P

Right on Stryker! We still have the backup plan at the Cell Sunday just in case we need it, hope not!
Paul - what I've heard tentatively on park slalom is June 17th Sat at Muk, I think John/Gareth will be rounding out the final plan. If we did that surfy groovy Auburn park it would have to be an outlaw whereas the more gnarly Muk looks like a bonafide "event"

Hey John, Nice work, I'll likely be stuck finishing Bathouse construction or I'd be into slaloming this weekend.
BANKED/VERT SLALOM- Does it look like it will happen? Will it be Vert slalom at Mukliteo, or Banked slalom at that other park in the video of Hughes, Jackman, and Peters that Peters filmed and emailed out recently? Will we get both? Does anyone have anything starting to solidify on this topic yet? I think we should definately try something, I'm into it even though I don't have a chance at winning in that game. Somebody post something about it so we know what's in the works. Thanks-Paul

BOO HOO- All the available birdhouses and batboxes went to the Chintimini Wildlife Rehab Center fundraiser today for their weekend fundraiser so there won't be any for the BBQ podium finishers or likely any other race. If you DO REALLY want one, let me know. I likely won't be able to make trophies for the BBQ either so the free food will be everyone's winnings for showing up, hopefully I'll get some trophies made for other races. -Adios, Paul

Hey, hopefully the next week will rain like crazy and the skies will get it out of it's system. Think rainy thoughts for the next week but do the NO-Rain dance specifically for March 11th and 12th so the asphalt will dry out. Yeah, that's it, I think it will really work if everyone does it. Hope to see you there-P
