Satrlight Bowl GS Practice
On 10/21/2001 MG wrote in from (206.1.nnn.nnn)

La Costa GS practice this Sunday 3-5 pm at the Starlight Bowl in Burbank. This is landfill road closed on weekends with a good surface and steep pitch. Email me if you need directions. Bring a longer board, wider trucks and wheels you can afford to wreck, soft ones probably. This hill was the setting for the climactic downhill race between Alva and Leif Garrett in the movie "Skateboard".

Tomorrow at 10am. I will have Adam's cones with me, so if Gary Holl doesn't show we will still have course to skate. However, it sure would be nice set a LONGER course(Hint, Hint). Bing 'em if ya got 'em.

GSI Luge/Buttboard Racing
On 10/20/2001 Bob Swartz wrote in from (207.199.nnn.nnn)

Tim Cayer and GSI are ready for the first race on the new road. The first race is 27 OCtober and there will plenty on the same road next year.
Tim's races are in a town called Franklin, NH just north of Loudon, NH and not real far from Boston. The road is .3 miles, is plenty steep with several sweepers and turns and is gated so we dont share with cars. IF you want to learn streetluge at an easy paced family oriented event for almost all ages, make sure you come to the GSI events and school.

Practice over.

It was too cold and I was tired of trying to make something out of limited terrain, so I left the Patriot Center, and went to the Mac store.

DC area slalom practice.
On 10/19/2001 PCB wrote in from (207.172.nnn.nnn)

This evening, Patriot Center, Lot K, 5pm til whenever. Anyone's welcome, but this is pretty dull pavement and pitch, so don't be disappointed if you drove a long way to get there. Slappy, have you found any place better? If so, please come and get me.

P&R session
On 10/18/2001 PCB wrote in from (207.172.nnn.nnn)

Longboardkook,
GBJ has planned one. It was in the Slalom forum, but you know how quick stuff there moves. I'll be there.

Gaithersburg, MD - Park and RACE!! - Sunday, October 21 at noon. The weather in the Mid-Atlantic region is supposed to be beautiful this weekend. Let's take advantage of it. I will have a course ready at the Gaithersburg Park and Ride by noon, and expect to re-set several others as the afternoon wears on. Newly, gainfully-employed, I have had no time to ride since Da Farm Race, and now need to go into high gear training for La Costa. This is purely a practice session, where any riders wishing to work with times will have to self-time. Riders can expect a hybrid course, a TS course and a GS course during the day. Everyone's welcome and I hope to see y'all there.

mike, can't make it today, you should have a session on the weekend, i would definetly be down for that. clayton and others, as for nightskating, i want to, but since i don't have a car, and you don't have a car, it would be sort of hard. but i really want to skate clarinton again. that hill is soooo great.
last, i assume there is slalom in GGP this sunday, who brings the cones, gary? don?
