Hold on everybody. I just got a call and some of the homeowners are contesting the permit that was already issued.
We will get back to you about the dates.
I am solely sorry about this; I thought we waited long enough after the permit was signed. I guess when your dealing with homeowners you find out how powerful they really are.
Standby and don't adjust you TV set yet, there will be news to follow soon.

Hi Fellas and Girls, I'mm taking a break from my posts over at Riding Techniques to ask for help. I've been in touch with the City Manager of a small Midwestern town who will close a mile's worth of hilly, curvy asphalt in his municipality for a longboard event if I can get the appropriate insurance. Can any of you point me towards an event director or an insurance underwriter for information about event-specific liability and indemnification coverage for a skateboard event? Should I try to organize a series of races, or just a festival with low speed activities? What is a fair fee to charge participants in order to cover the insurance and facility expenses? Do you have waiver and disclaimer forms that I can show the mayor?
Thanks, DR

Robert Wurgaft is putting on this event and it proves to be an outstanding one at that. There have been many riders that have tested it already. Bikes, luges and inline.
This is an event you won't want to miss.

overcoming layers of bureaucracy was expected
but as a skateboarder for over 25 years, the piss poor image that society holds of skateboarding was not expected
someone posted the new politically correct term for slalom races over in the slalom forum - skateboard safety clinics
good news is that the georgia state championship slalom racers will have plenty of police protection

Wlac rules: If you have not have been to one of these races you need to make the trip. The GS hill is narly with a start that you can not see the finish! Great Vibe, Low Key all about racing at the hills.Scott Peer and wife put on another great race, We even had tow ups to the top of the hill! Chicken gets best four wheel drift award.Olie was blazing fast in the GS. Of course we retired to Goat stew at our favorite resturaunt and broke into an old school freestyle session in the parking lot that was highlighted by a local dude who stopped his car and proceeded to spin 360s while covering his eyes and grabbing his crotch!

California Championship Series 4 West LA College, California 8/18/02
While many were away on summer vacation, we had the second slalom of the 2002 California Championship series at West LA College in comfortable partly cloudy weather. The courses were set fast and smooth and caused few DQ’s, and with the best of 3 format all racers got results. Richy Carrasco took the tight slalom and Steve Olsen took the open board GS (on a longboard) and Turner Cambria Wheels. Chicken Deck then took the longboard GS, and Scott Peer posted the fastest time on the hill on inlines. The finale was the sudden death tiebreaker for the skateboard cash, between Attila, Richy , and Chicken, with Chicken starting last, but finishing first.
Tight Slalom: Richy Carrasco 14.417 Barrett "Chicken" Deck 14.632 Attila Aszodi 14.656 John O'Shea 15.130 Steve Olson 15.268 Roger Jennings 18.661 Shortboard GS Steve Olson 25.771 Attila Aszodi 26.491 Barrett "Chicken" Deck 26.516 Richy Carrasco 26.643 Brent Kosick 26.776 John O’Shei 26.806 Roger Jennings 27.894 Eddy Craig 28.021
Combined Tiebreaker: Barrett "Chicken" Deck 26.334 Richy Carrasco 26.770 Attila Aszodi 27.306
Longboard GS Barrett "Chicken" Deck 26.401 Attila Aszodi 26.972 Richy Carrasco 27.076 Eddy Craig 27.856 Roger Jennings 29.441
Inline GS Scott Peer 24.373 Max Reynolds 29.145 (fastest junior) Keri Tishner 29.481 (fastest woman)
Intermediate Inline GS: Natalie Hofland 13.14 Lynn Theard 13.49

Just want to say thanks to Brian P and GBJ for a great time on Saturday. Seneca Creek is such a fantastic place to skate. Looking forward to seeing everyone again next weekend at da Farm, and a couple of weeks after that in the DC area again.
Congratulations to Curt, UR13, Noah, Ohm, and Vlad.

Davmo, Most convenient (by a very slight margin) and most affordable (sometimes by a slightly larger margin) would be the Red Roof Inn-Gaithersburg. It's about 1-1.5 miles from the venue. KMG prefers the Holiday Inn-Gaithersburg, which is about 1.7 miles from the venue. If you were to search the internet for travel and lodging options in and around the Gaithersburg, MD area, almost everything you'd find is convenient, so find the price range that suits you and we'll see you this weekend.

Hi Guys,
My two sons and I will be making the trip to DC Outlaw #4 from Norfolk, Va. With a 10:00 starting time it looks like we will drive up the day before and get a hotel somewhere. Any recommendations on good affordable lodging in the area??? See you guys there on saturday.

Brian, I seriously considered it. Unfortunately, circumstances dictate that in order to finance my trip to 'da Farm next week I must pursue gainful activity this weekend (in other words, I gotta work.) Plus, I haven't skated all that much in the past couple of weeks. Between weather, work and various aches and pains, coming up this weekend had all the hallmarks of a disaster in the making.
So, I got a grudge match with you, ur13 wants a smack fest 'tween me and Tway and PSR is going to race on real wheels for a change. Let's face it: if I don't show up on New York, y'all might as well call the whole thing off!

Mr. Rooney I was hoping to get our grudge match out of the way before Da Farm. I was looking forward to our duel matchup in the last outlaw race that got cut short.
I challenge you to grudge match #2 at the farm.

Mr. Rooney... Don't you just hate it when people post confusing information about an event? Well, it's really not all that confusing (or at least it wasn't until I started messing with things!). If you dial back about 10-15 posts you will find Brian's original post about the race plans, which include the information that Longboard race practice starts at 10 a.m. You'd probably already read it once, but then we went and got you all confused. That's ok. I know you South Carolinians are slow to recover from confusion (in fact, many of them still act like the Civil War is still going on!), but once the fog clears... you'll be fine.

So, does the racing start at 10:00, or is the RACER'S MEETING at 10:00? Wouldn't that mean the racing will start around 10:15? And since the racer's meetings never start on time, then the racing will probably not get under way until 10:30 or 10:45 at the earliest.
Which means Noah gets no real advantage at all. He'll get there just in time for the longboarding to start and then have to cool his heels for an hour or so. By that time he'll be so stone cold anyone could beat him to the bottom of the hill. Where's the flaw in my logic?
(I'm not going to be there, but just couldn't let pass an opportunity to muddle the issue! Heh, heh, heh.)
